Gina Sousa Branco she’s not as versatile as others. She can’t touch Freddie Mercury, Diana Ross, Mick Jagger, Prince, and more. And she sure repeats her self in concerts because no one is listening to her new music, so she has to sing her old songs.

Don't limit her to just a female artist in history...she had as much power and more than ANY single performer in history. I just have to hold back a little because of the Beatles, but otherwise she is tops.
Madonna spelled out to audiences that night why she was (and always will be) one of the most electrifying, charismatic pop stars and live performers of all time.

@@keithMc35 Just look how "Like a Prayer" didn't get any any nod or award in 1989/90. This only example just proves how she was consciously ignored by the Grammy Academy back in the day. She paved the way for the female acts today who just moves one finger and get a nod or an award.

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the two backup dancers, who are basically giving the same performance.
Backing vocalists and dancers!!
Donna DeLory and Niki Harris ♥️♥️
@@jean.rdoy11 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I always loved them! Bravo!
Here, here!
Like 2 planets revolving around the sun.
We all love Madonna, but how about those back-ups!!! They were incredible!!!
Nikki Harris and Donna de Lory, they followed her through the Blond Ambition Tour. All this set looks like a rough for the tour's version of the same title, which opened the concert.
Мы любим их всех. We love them all.
Serdar ortac
@Madeleine Grayson when and where??
My all time favorite live of Madonna. Its just so...Madonna. Bad ass and best performance.
Thats the Madonna, i love. I know we all age, but that's not what i am talking about.
I love how Niki and Donna were perfect for M's vocals! It's great to watch the three of them perform.
これわ女性セクシーけいだ
Me too
Man these ladies are everything. This is a CLEAN performance!!!
100%
Right on, bro.
Her voice is SO PERFECT here... She used no playback back then! 100% LIVE that's my girl!!!
She's singing and dancing at the same time QUEEN👑
AND not lip synching and killing it too!
Thi is probably the Best Madonna era!
She was at the top of her game
My favourite performance of hers for sure
zZAD 1983/1990 it was all about Madonna
Madame X is her best era haha 😂
There will never be another artist like MADONNA!!! Millennials when you get a chance watch all of her stuff beginning 1984. lol!
i'm 17 and have listened to all her songs and she is so fucking amazing like i dont think theres anyone as good as her in the industry, not even michael jackson is as good as The MADONNA.
I'm a millennial...I was 8 when I discovered Madonna in 1998. Been a massive fan since...I've definitely introduced so many of my younger friends to her and they are fans or at least respect her immensely.
@@LeafPoxy good for you❤❤
I'd say, beginning 1983, Madonna's debut album is amazing
@@misskaufman6214 mhm it’s actually my favorite album by her!
Was she live? She killed it
That’s how a performance should be
Yes completely "Live"!
@@michaelduchene59 Not behind the screen at the beginning!!!
Keep in in mind she was on a dance scholarship before she changed to singing. Obviously the talent for both makes her the queen!
The choreography is amazing! And those dance kicks are awesome.
Almost 30 years ago! So good, only 3 women on stage, 3 chairs and couple of stairs, amasing. This was the era of real music, and great performaces on VMA's, and this one is probably one of the greatest. She is suach a performer and amasing entertainer, she hooked the audience with first 30 seconds. I remember this so vividly, and i can barely songs with the years they were released. Much better times.
kizabg74 omg the era of real
Music is any era u happened to grew up on
@@jalarconcedeno except for my era lol
Totally! This is back when the MTV award shows were actually good. I miss this era. It’s total trash now.
I was born in 1989.
She was vogueing here one year before she released the song! A woman with the plan!
That's right! And I believe this is the first live performance of the three of them singing together on stage as well. Correct me if I'm wrong...
@@tonyz376 Yes it is, cause the Who's That Girl Tour had another backup singer/dancer
@@ginasousabranco5637 Debra Parson
Still the best-selling female musical recording artist in history 👏
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Madonna! The one and only...sings, dances, flexes, poses, boss, legend. Thank you for everything xXx
They don't make awards like this anymore. These were the days of excitement and originality.
True!!
I love the way Madonna dance
That last crotch grab was just not necessary 😬
This performance is masterpiece... you can tell Madonna REALLY worked hard on this! The live singing and dancing is just amazing!
YESSS!!
Oh man, the "yeah" at 6:07 sums it up perfectly.
Perfect definition of an ARTIST. And probably the GREATEST performer of all time.

Amongst the GREATS, the most unique and the most groundbreaking , Elvis, Michael etc..
@@ThePricipleOfParsimony Madonna was better than Elvis and Michael.
@@marblox9300 I think u might be right. I was thinking about that thing and among the greats Beatles Elvis Mj Madonna Madonna just might be the greatest (music) artist ever the greatest music act ever
Prince! Genius prodigy. M part of the pack of the best!
I’m back in 1989!! Omg 😮 wow this is Madonna the most admired woman in the world! And I was watching on tv! Now she’s 60 and I’m 50! And that means so much to me! Because I still admire her! And she is MADONNA queen 👸 of the world!!
Jose❤
This is a really long performance for an awards show. So iconic!
Not really.
@@jonvillasenor7137 shut up
This is pure entertainment. The dancing and the lyrics are brilliant. People who say Madonna hasn’t got the best voice in the world, miss the point.
She has nothing close to the "best voice in the world" which she would even admit herself, lol. There's no "point" to miss. She's a great performer/entertainer, as seen in this video. She's never been a good vocalist. She's not even a mediocre one.
Never been a good vocalist …hmmm…. that’s why she’s a billionaire and you’re not
Unbelibable
Crazy Lady Gaga copied this song
@@wolfmoon4214 Are you saying, she did a cover?
She dances and sings at the same time!!! She is the only one!!!!! She is original and very beautiful. To be 1989 she was very advanced. She makes the 80s and she changed them also.
Madonna Iconic 💖
And she's in stiletto heels while dancing and singing. Back in the 80's and to this very day.
True
I don't know if you noticed, her dancers were doing the same stuff.
@@JSkyGemini exactly 😂
SERIOUSLY - one of my absolute favorite Madonna performance !!
Same.
The opening with the spotlights hook me EVERYTIME.
Yes "dance and sing..." I always loved that part, too.
amusedbygod It's from the song Everybody (1982).
***** Is her first single like a solo artist EVERYBODY
Her “how” when she’s bending backward to get her jacket is incredible...such control. Epic performance
This vocal harmony between Madonna, Niki, and Donna is EXTREMELY underrated! I wish Madonna would do an acoustic tour with these girls.
Mr. T Yesssssss! Niki and Donna gave Madonna’s vocals that extra something! Love them 🎤🎤🎤
I always say that 15 or so year period they worked together, on records and on tours, was Peak Madonna. She's had a few decent singles since, but nothing touches that Madonna, Niki and Donna period. I wish I knew why they suddenly just stopped working together....their voices blended beautifully.
Acoustic? No. I would however love for them to return in this form, the trio.
Agree, Rain in The Girlie Show was pure magic. They sounded so harmoniously on point.
Madonna isn’t the type of artist who would do an acoustic tour but I wish they would do a reunion
No 5 million dollar special effects (2019 Grammys) needed here. Pure, simple and raw Madonna!!
2019 Grammys?
MrRD1984 yep
Which performance... I know Madame X spent that on her Medellín performance at the BBMAS
Josué Isaí Cruz-Arriola Billboard 2019 performance. She spent all that money and it was no where near her best.
@@guillermovilla9517 Well, it is not a Grammy Performance!
Just Madonna and the girls... the best!
She vogues during the performance!
She actually does a bit of Vogue's Choreography in this! The last part of it!😍😍😍
@timothy chung Yes! But she did a bit of the last movements of Vogue choreo!
Love you Gina, you always write beautiful things about the QUEEN 👑🙌😘
No one will ever beat this performance. Pure perfection! Nothing better❤
👍🔥🎸♥️🐐
The most iconic entrance ive seen
Then you obviously have not seen her Confessions Tour entrance - fantastic.
amusedbygod I have and I Prefer this one to the confessions, or even the Re-invention Tour, or the Blond Ambition Tour (which is very similar to this) or even the Girlie Show tour. honestly the Confessions tour entrance is only better than MDNA, Who's That Girl, and Drowned World
What a way to end the best decade of music ever...
Exactly!!!
Awwe ....you missed the 70's hehehe
the best decade for pop
80s were the golden age of pop music
God she is THE apex performer !! Nothing like her and never again.
Maybe the Apex female performer but there’s other way more iconic and excellent male performers out there.
@@yourstruly7086 Madonna is the most versatile of them all. She never repeats herself
Gina Sousa Branco she’s not as versatile as others. She can’t touch Freddie Mercury, Diana Ross, Mick Jagger, Prince, and more. And she sure repeats her self in concerts because no one is listening to her new music, so she has to sing her old songs.
@@yourstruly7086 Yeah, it's hard to beat Michael.

Great choreography for a great song.

+Veronica C Today it's more the problem that a lot of people are copying her act. Good for them and good for all of us, but not very innovative for anybody. But because of that she is an icon.
That’s why she is the queen!! Dancing, singing live, the incrediable stage presence! No one is like her 👑👑👑
Her MTV performances are legendary
MadonnaMDNA Yes. Every single one.
Do you like Bye Bye Baby from 1993?
Vogue is Iconic
Ahhh, when Madonna was at the top of her game!! She was so beautiful and very classy back in the early 90s, that's for sure.
I love it when it's only the three of them on stage performing....Madonna, Nikki & Donna!!!!
Today's generation has NO idea how big Madonna was around the world. There is no female artist in history, including now, that was as powerful, famous and trend setting as Madonna. Just like Michael Jackson.
I do I was born in 2004 and I Feel like I’m the only person by age who knows Madonna the reason these girls are able to do what they do today in music if it weren’t for Madonna the Queen
Don't limit her to just a female artist in history...she had as much power and more than ANY single performer in history. I just have to hold back a little because of the Beatles, but otherwise she is tops.
@@paulsarna7236 Yes! And in her own terms from the get go!

Britney Spears!
Madonna spelled out to audiences that night why she was (and always will be) one of the most electrifying, charismatic pop stars and live performers of all time.
This is really great. She's strutting strong beautiful and expressing a wonderful message for other women. Don't settle for second best, believe in yourself, if the time isn't right then move on. She is singing and dancing amazing. Very hard working person. Truly one in a million.
I think you meant one in a Billion!!!
I'm probably one of the few in this generation that appreciates how legendary and iconic madonna is. This performance proves this. She's the Queen.
Sho Yo Rite
Beotch12 she is everything
No way man, me too, Madonna is the Greatest Female solo artist of all time, she paved the way for every female solo artist today and also for the Gay community she had our backs when it wasn't in fashion too, she doesn't get the respect she should today from younger people, the ageism she gets is fucking bullshit..
@@keithMc35 Just look how "Like a Prayer" didn't get any any nod or award in 1989/90. This only example just proves how she was consciously ignored by the Grammy Academy back in the day. She paved the way for the female acts today who just moves one finger and get a nod or an award.
I'm 14 and I'm a fan of her
the earth is approximatly 3.5 billion years old..how lucky are we, we lived in the 34 years Madonna has been giving us this magic! love this woman far far too much!! :)

The Dude Imperfect singing because of the movement but I prefer it. Be real and show us how good or bad you really are. Takes guts and the cream rises to the top.
I remember watching this when it aired. It was so different from any kind of performance at that time & so empowering! 35 years later & I still think it’s one of Madonna’s most epic award show performances.
is this really 25 years ago?? she seems more modern, confident, sexy, energetic, sassy, versatile and multi-talented than any of today's young female singers...and all done live without getting out of breath, Jesus!
27 years ago. She is Madonna. Forever the BEST
Madonna is great but she is not more talented than many young singers
She is far more subdued these days. She had this amazing energy, in the 80s and early 90s, which was fascinating. It seems to have faded. She is like a different person these days.
unfortuneatly......she is older and more subdued, yes
well queen, let's see you jump around the same way you did 30 years ago? yeah not happening...human begins are not machines.
This is Madonna at her best. My favourite performance live ever
NOBODY works a staircase like The Queen. Madonna is quite simply the greatest stage performer of all time...hands down!
This was before the blond ambition tour which her look and performance was way more polished this has some level realness and raw ..
What a stone cold queen. I grew up worshipping her, but it’s always good to be reminded how damn good she is.
SHE HAS 50 NUMBER 1 DANCE HITS!!!!
That’s right 50 #1 Dance hits. A mark that will never be surpassed in my lifetime!!!
