One lap on every track in Need for Speed 2 (with different cars) - NFS 2 SE (1997)

- One thing that made the first few Need for Speed games great is how unique every track was, since they were set in completely different environments and not in a shared open world. Here you can see laps on all 8 tracks in Need for Speed 2 SE, which was released in 1997. I also used a different car on every track, always from the car class that is used for the respective track in tournament mode.

As usual I spent a lot of time recording to be able to show you fast and clean runs. On some of the tracks I practiced for more than an hour. Just like in NFS 1 the physics in NFS 2 also haven't aged perfectly though, so a couple of walls were still touched. Starting with NFS 3 things should become very smooth though.
I didn't plan to include any bloopers or funny moments here but one happened to occur right after the end of a great lap, so I decided to leave it in. :P
NFS 2 also has interactive music for each track, which changes depending on the part of the track that you are in.
The game includes 4 more regular cars with the Ford Indigo, Isdera 112i (Class B), Ferrari 355 F1 and Mustang Mach III (Class C). There are also 3 fictional bonus cars with the Bomber BFS, Tombstone and FZR 2000.
Monolithic Studios is a bonus track that is unlocked after winning a knockout competition.
I might make similar videos for NFS 3 and 4 as well, since they got very awesome and unique circuit tracks too.

Whenever I'm about driving, I'll put this soundtrack on cause it's so damn good. Missed when EA hired musicians to do the soundtracks just for them and not just purchase a bunch of popular tracks already overplayed on the radio. Out of each one, I'd probably say the two songs for the German track is my fave.
That's true, I turn off EA Trax and only turn on interactive music (music that created by Black Box developement team) in NFS MW 2005

Hmmm....hard to say which one is my favorite out of europe, Mexico, Greece and Nepal. I remember that the snowy track scared me in childhood....just the sound of wind was scary....but I liked it more as I grew up....I’d say my favorite is mystic peaks then. But mediteraneo and that european track are beautiful too....Proving grounds used to be my favorite as a kid because I would always win with a McLaren on it 😂...but I grew up to like the tougher tracks....this game is love 💕....I can’t find it now and I don’t think windows 10 will run it 😞....my Windows 10 doesn’t run house of the dead 3 so I can’t expect for this baby to run too.....omg, this game was the first game I ever played on my Pentium 2 pc....when I was 4 years old! T_T......the current nfs isn’t my taste. Rivals was the last one I purchased and never thought about purchasing after that...I kept purchasing until that because nfs had a lasting good impression on me and so I would just hope that I would love the game even with bad reviews...then I realised that nfs is just hopeless now......EA should actually remake these old ones (with two options for gameplay 1. 1990s graphics with physics and another for a change 2. Modern graphics with real physics). They should keep these tracks and themes of the tracks. Incorporating all of these in a free roam (or maybe making a mini map for each of these classic tracks) map would be my dream game!

yeah that snowy map was the tougest map for me and one of my favorite. It is tough to choose which one cuz they all are best in their own ways. Just love the game 😍💘

I remember my brother's and sisters all gathered around the PC having turns to play this game. Today we all married and living our own lives. I am now a roads engineer so I'm watching this with the eyes of a roads engineer, having many more questions. Never knew a day would come where these games would be a distant memory. These days are gone but all we can do is pass similar memories on to our kids.

It must've been real hard to resist all those alternate paths and ramps! I'd always take the jump at the end of Last Resort, after the leaping out of the cave, on the right, and cut through the parking lot in Pacific, but I completely get why you didn't for the purpose of the video! It was night and day with and without that 3DFX card. One of my "this changes everything" moments in gaming, like the first time I saw an enemy crouch under my weapons fire at the start of Quake II and knew I'd have to learn to mouseaim. Those reflections I couldn't believe back in the day, I can hardly even notice now...

Insane that this is 25 years old! This was released the year I was born yet it was still the first NFS I played. Multiplayer split-screen mode was awesome, aahg the nostalgia!

Man this was my favorite game back in the day. My buddy Tom and I used to play this on PS1 all the time as kids. This and 3 (the original Hot Pursuit) are still probably my favorites of the series, plus of course the Underground games.

I think it might be like 25 years, since the last time I played this wonderful game. Despite this, sometimes when you were driving, I had flashbacks, of what will come next. And sometimes I was putting together pieces I did not realized I know from here. :D

Last Resort / Mexico was my favorite track and I remembered surprisingly much of the track till today. I forgot about the jungle between city and volcano tho.

These were the good old days when racing was just racing, no bounty or police stories, no levels, just racing. Just imagine you are tired of on a Friday and at night you sit and race only race win or lose. I want EA to remake this game just the way it is with the same tracks and cars ( my fav FZR ) only with new graphics

Driving in cockpit view was some interesting, and this version also has it, but, need installs the standard version (the non 3d graphic card version.)

I remember typing pioneer to get the performance , and schoolbus to get the school bus, and spend countless hours in the Australian outback track , hoping to reach full speed then hitting a tiny car in the oh so rare oncoming traffic, Possibly on some lean bend, for some really nice action replay …
The cool thing is how the cars would shoot out of the track by bashing against a barrier or jump right out of a bridge, only to get reset later on.
