- This time we're looking at the divine beast Vah Naboris. This is Breath of the Wild's desert but also electric themed dungeon, and it is GREAT!

I hope you mention that Urbosa is the only champion aware of Ganondorf and has a hatred of it.
Oops 😬
I did not, but that is something that feels more relevant to Urbosa’s character rather than the level design here.
Maybe something worth saving for a character study video?
@@CaptBurgerson go for it. I just thought it was cool that they made her have that
@@CaptBurgerson oh a character study would be amazing! Theres quite a bit you can do for the champions, for example, in Vah Medoh's beginning music you can hear the SOS theme much later then you would in each other divine beast. Showing Revali's ego and how it got better of him.
And the only that mention the route of the Devine Beast's name, showing how valuable and important Gerudo history is
I feel like the repetitive aesthetics of the Divine Beasts fit this one the most. I mean, we're on a desert and the material which the Divine Beasts are made out of is sand-coloured, and most likely requires a lot of sand to make
Kind of interesting that the best dungeons in the Wild era games are both the ones in the Gerudo desert (Naboris and Lightning), and that they are both the closest you get to classic Zelda dungeons.
I knew you would like this one most. It's without a doubt the best one in BotW. And yes, "enemy variety" also is an important aspect for a good Dungeon. So sad totk wasnt that much better concerning that...
The Blender map that you made looks so amazing, as if it is actually part of the game!
My method of fully upgrading the rubber armor set for this beast takes soooo long!
fun little anecdote: i fought thunderblight second. not only that, i never had made use of flurry rush or perfect parry at all up to this point. I spent hours bashing my metaphorical head against this boss, finally learning those mechanics the hard way.
its still haunting that each divine beast theme has the morse code for sos in it.....
I love the theme song for this dungeon after you get the first Terminal
The Yiga bow (Duplex Bow) is absurdly useful in boarding Naboris.
I avoided all sign posting and this was my first divine beast, loved it! But every one after felt like such a let down
Great boss fight 😊
Fab puzzle box 📦
Awesome choice to leave to last ❤
You cover everything there is to cover with each dungeon. Keep up the good work, I love your videos!
Urbosa also wouldn't have grabbed the Thunder Helm because there was no reason to suspect the Divine Beast would be compromised.
i really like this one compared to the other beasts. puzzle box dungeons are all about reverse switches and the precursor to its design goes back to eagle's tower. that dungeon btw only has one small key required for the dungeon and while first one is only used for a nearby locked door and the other two are used for optional key blocks (one of which is a red herring) the dungeon is still restricted by the peg switches. funny enough the tower of hera, which was a very linear dungeon in alttp used the pegs but it did not feel so restricting or thought provoking when most of the time you had a switch nearby. in fact, the star switches which only apply locally made a better puzzle element compared to the pegs.
i do think many of the best dungeons are puzzle box dungeons such as the water temple, JJB from ages, great bay temple, eagle's tower (which could probably pass as one) the sand ship and the sky keep. there are still some very good generic dungeons such as ganon's tower from alttp, turtle rock from LA, crown dungeon and unicorn's cave.
I wish we could've revisited the Divine Beasts after we beat them
Naboris was actually the second Divine Beast I cleared after Ruta. I didn't want to deal with fire yet so I ignored Death Mountain, and Medoh seemed so imposing in the sky that I thought it would be the hardest 😂
So I didn't even trek through the canyon to Gerudo Desert, but more like on top of it because I got curious about the scaffolding after messing around with climbing on the Great Plateau?
So yeah, Thunderblight is actually the one who taught me how to flurry rush
That must have been one heck of a learning curve!
@@CaptBurgerson It sure was! I'm still surprised that it took me "only" 7 attempts to finally defeat Thunderblight 😂 But now I consider him my favourite one as well!
Fun fact: I actually have the most trouble with Windblight; he just keeps messing with me for some reason in all my playthroughs 😅
Totally agree, always though VN’s design was the best and a really cool dungeon in its own right. Something I hope they return to in BotW 2 are dungeon mini-bosses
Great video dude
I struggled with this so much, amiibos helped.
5:47 Y’know i always noticed the sound Naboris makes when it reawakens sounds a lot like the moan of a redead, but more deeper…
8:16 hey that shot right there looks like a pokeball! lol
That being said im with you there on this divine beast being the best dungeon of the game. The music, the atmosphere, the layout, the fact there’s more enemies, ugh…soooooo perfect! And did i mention that the atmosphere and music is surreal too? this whole divine beast is an art piece and a nice love letter to classic dungeons with a kiss on the cheek for sure. Man i always love visiting this dungeon, i have a secondary account specifically for revisiting divine beasts (i dont complete them) and i tend to visit this one a lot. I’d like to say im a botw pro but oh man i still struggle against thunderblight. It’s definitely the hardest boss there is this game has to offer. The fact i still kinda struggle against this boss makes me hopeful that botw2 (omg did i actually say botw2?) i mean, TEARS OF THE KINGDOM 😂😂😂 But anyway it makes me confident that the sequel will be more challenging than botw despite us being familiar with the physics and engine
I had an interesting idea while watching you do flurry rushes and im like, it would be such a great idea if you can choose to do a flurry rush or shoot a bunch of areas when you do a perfect dodge. That would be a neat option!
also question: did you make a new game/file specifically for the divine beast series to get gameplay footage?? lol
Thanks for the great comment!
Totally a pokeball lmao.
And yes, I totally did start a new save file for this series. Couldn’t re-enter them on my complete file. 😅
That song in the beginning hurt my ears
just use stasis then magnesis for the suspended chest
Although it makes sense for this divine beast to be last, this was second to last for me and thunder blight ganon was ridiculously hard as it is for others. Luckily, wind blight was the last calamity ganon for me so I was able to go from super hard to fairly easy, it was a breath of fresh air
Going back to these videos I find it extremely funny that you referred to the Divine Beasts as Constructs, given the robots in totk. I almost thought they were new vids because of that lol
Totally forgot I even used the term hahah
I’m sure ur gonna make videos of the dungeons or whatever in Tears Of The Kingdom next year! I also don’t know if the Yiga Clan HideOut is meant to be a dungeon or not because I remember it took me multiple times to get though that part of the game and you couldn’t save during it either. If u died, u get started outside the place again. Idk how u could hate Master Kohga. He’s hilarious.
Definitely don’t hate Kohga! Just felt the battle itself was a bit of a let down.
Vah Naboris, let’s gooooooo
My favourite divine beast would have to be the fifth one (if that even counts).
It counts to me!
There's a fifth one?
@@salamander8055 sorta. The champions ballad DLC adds another trial which, while not explicitly called a divine beast, is pretty much one.
What if I told you that I did this Divine Beast 3rd in the order and waited until I had plenty of stuff to go anywhere near the magma and Van Rudania.
Kohga also becomes a fan favorite character BTW. So I don’t mind his boss
Your dungeon design series is perfect 'background noise' channel for me. Because I've never played a zelda, and I don't especially care about the zeldas -- which means it can be BACKGROUND noise, it's not something I feel like I must pay attention to -- but it's also interesting enough so if I don't have anything ELSE in the foreground, I can put it on and watch it and not get bored. Most importantly though, there's nice even levels of sound, nothing that's suddenly jarring.
No wait the MOST important thing is that there's nothing about it that makes me get upset and/or want to start arguing, which is my biggest problem with my housemate's preferred source of "background noise" (the radio, whether it's news or ads, always something for me to rant about). Not only do I not play zeldas, I don't play video games at all, so I have zero opinion on pretty much anything you could say about level design; the only things where it's even POSSIBLE for me to have an opinion are when you say things like "the music is gorgeous" or "the scenery is pretty", and yeah they sure are, the creative team knew what they were doing in that regard.
This was wild to read ngl, but hey I appreciate it
These pictures of a magazine... What is the magazine called? Is it the artbook? Looks so interesting! They really wanted to create huge dungeons with the divine beasts and it seems they were hold back by the limitation of the switch sadly...
Those are pulled from Creating a Champion. Fantastic book with a ton of behind the scenes stuff
I did Ruta naboris medoh rudania
Interesting
YAASSS NABOORIS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Man, did you do something new with the visuals? This one just looks stellar for some reason lol 😋 I thought bombing the feet was so much fun! It reminds me of Lord of the Rings, when they are taking down the mumakil 😝 dude your blender map is sooo good!! OMG the spectacle rock thing is sooo cool!!! Your analysis in this one is so good 😍 not only of the dungeon itself, but of how certain things in it relate to the rest of the game and its themes! Yass thunderblight!! I had such a hard time with this fight, but objectively he's such a good boss!! Git gud 😂 I appreciate your parry strats ☺️ This was such a great video, Burger!!! GG! 😁👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I'm excited to see how you end up doing the 2D dungeons 😊
Thaaaaank yooouu T!
The visuals, I did a bit of colour correction, though I had for some previous videos too here and there so maybe I’ve just gotten better at that haha. Otherwise just been trying to do better with getting nice, visually pleasing shots. Glad it’s noticeable!
Thanks for your great comment. Always makes me smile :)
This was bananas
No u
Are you doing hyrule castle?(if that even counts as a dungeon)
It counts imho. And yes!
First, Monk Maz Koshia trial, then Hyrule Castle!
@@CaptBurgerson based
Your blender game is popping. 🍌
Many thanks my homie. The map for this one took literally days
@@CaptBurgerson I can only imagine - well worth it. The results are moi bueno.
They are HUMPS HUMPS !!!
Yes.
I never thought of cross dressing as a power before, but there ya go. Link really is a super hero. 😅😂
If Shakespeare has taught me anything it’s that crossdressing is powerful
OH MY GOD STOP SAYING SOWTHERN
Hi, it’s called an accent and that is how the word is pronounced here where I live.
This was actually the 2nd Divine Beast quest i did. Felt like a big step up after Vah Ruta, haha😂
