Even if Nintendo is trying to forget Toadsworth, I'll never forget him. He's such a memorable character and plays a huge role in Peach's life, just as Kamek is to Bowser.
He isn't forgotten if he is in the concept art for the Movie. He was mentioned in a 2017-2018 Play Nintendo episode for Mario Reads your letters and appears on a Japanese Nintendo Kids site.
Toadsworth is as important as Kamek.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty strange how there was a blue Toad with glasses instead of Toadsworth in the film. Seemed like a missed opportunity to see the return of one who actually used to be a main character in the series.
Main character? He appears in one game out of over 20 mainline titles not even counting ports and remakes. He also does not appear in the Mario Kart or Mario Party series, the major spin-offs.
I am wondering if they will add the Toad General in the games. I think Toadsworth could be on a vacation on Isle Deflino and will be explained in the sequel, and he will play a supporting role.
I think it’s maybe because they decided to set this movie to the origin of Mario. By the same logic, it’s also a missed opportunity not to have captain toad instead of red toad. The red toad was the captain toad before he was captain and the blue toad is also toadsworth before he had the role of toadsworth.
It might be Toadbert.

Many hardcore fans were.
Toadsworth is one of the best examples of "take an existing Mario species and modify it to make a new character" Nintendo have ever done. He was important to Peach and worked well alongisde Toad and Toadette. Why Nintendo forgot about him I will never know, but I hold out hope he will return.
Also, how's E.Gadd doing? His appearance rate dropped after he was cut from Mario Kart DS and now he only appears when they make a Luigi's Mansion game.
He's probably gonna become Canon so we get the Luigi's mansion spin off for kids horror.
Was really weird seeing this new strange blue toad with glasses in the movie rather than Toadsworth. It was pretty disappointing not seeing him in the movie but hopefully he’ll appear in future games or movies cause he is an underrated character in the Mario universe. But until then, R.I.P Toadsworth 2002-2013. You will never be forgotten.

Quit being a boomer, I’m sure Toadsworth will eventually appear in a Mario movie sequel. I feel like Nintendo does still care about him, they’re just trying their best to include him in recent Mario games. Plus I feel like they’re just shelving Toadsworth for now because I think behind the scenes he probably was going to be in the film but they might’ve have trouble trying to find someone to voice him.

In german, there‘s a Word called „Kammerdiener“, it was, in the 18th Century, the right Hand of the King/Queen. A Kammerdiener was the nearest to the Royal Family, having the Highest Rights to Order (even in the Name of the Royal Family) etc
That blue toad in the movie reminded me of Toadbert from Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story.
I could very well see Toadworth being added in the sequel to the Mario movie, some good retconing can do wonders. Toadsworth could be the former king of the Mushroom Kingdom which explains why he wasn't present to see Baby Peach entering the Mushroom Kingdom. Toadsworth retires and hands the crown to Peach, and he is off travelling outside of the Kingdom during the events of the movie. So I could see them introducing him in the sequel and have Toadsworth be surprised to seeing Mario for the first time.

Unlike the games, Baby Peach never wore the crown.
My personal opinion is that maybe it’ll be revealed that Toadsworth is Peach’s caregiver/parent, no longer a young green Toad, just an old man now as Peach is older
Toadsworth was killed off after The Mario and Luigi RPG series ended.
It is not only Toadsworth, it is pretty much all unique Toads except for Toadette.
Nintendo was not the only company who treated fan favorite characters as if they never existed. Mattel has done this to the Thomas & Friends universe but at a far worse extent than Nintendo.

Right? When I first saw Toadsworth in Sunshine, I thought it was a retcon/redesign of the Chancellor from Super Mario RPG, even though _the moustache and the mushroom hat are probably the only character traits the two share in common! (Their hat-spots aren't even the same color! X^D)_
Like, I thought maybe Square technically had the rights to the "Chancellor" character, so Nintendo was like, "this is actually a good idea for a character, but rather than get permission to use theirs, how about we make our own version?"

Petey Piranah was also one of the GameCube characters too. For awhile he was in everything and actually playable too.
Unlike Toadsworth, he still has a presence today. He's playable in Mario Kart Tour.

I’m surprised even Toadette isn’t in the movie, as she appeared 1st in Double Dash, and rest time just basically got promoted to important side characters and even made it to main line Super Mario Bros games ether playable or being Peach’s side girl, yet she didn’t appeared in the movie, not mad or disappointed about, probably needed to say that, just interesting

I honestly feel like Nintendo has been cracking down on a lot of elements that debuted in Super Mario Sunshine. Isle Delfino doesn’t make as many prominent appearances anymore, remember how Petey Piranha disappeared for a few years before becoming a main character again, oh and remember how for six years, the Pokeys used to have flowers on their heads but now they don’t (which is a change I never liked) it seems they’re straying away from SMS elements as a whole which is kind of a shame.
Pokeys at times still have flowers such as the Lego set and Tower Power Pokey in Sticker Star used a flower hidden in it's crown to heal itself Yellow Pokeys have their spikes like in SMW. if anything using Green Pokeys from SMB2 with the flowers would be the best way to bring it back naturally. Sometimes Pokeys with flowers on their heads had inconsistent behavior such as being able to jump on them or not in various GCN-early Wii games.
I dont know why I always thought pokeys with flowers on their heads were female…

As a longtime Mario fan, I was really upset Toadsworth never made it to the Final cut. He would've added so much MORE to the Mushroom Kingdom and not only that his presence would've strengthened Princess Peach's character. A week after seeing the Mario Movie, I decided to write a story on my ColorNotes App titled: What if... Toadsworth were in the Mario Movie? I rewrote Peach's backstory by expanding it for 3 minutes and showing King Toadsworth be the ONE who meets Baby Peach and not some random Toads. Next, I wrote a ton of scenes showing their entire life together and it's really cute. Then I wrote Teenage Peach struggling and failing at becoming both a Warrior and a Princess, but with the help of Toadsworth's wisdom, knowledge and fatherly guidance she's able to succeed the training course. And lastly, I ended my re-write with Toadsworth sadly passing away from old age after knighting Peach as Princess.
If what I wrote were in the movie, dishabille surprisingly emotional for audiences and kids.
But this, THIS would have worked.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Toad General was created to be a "modern IP compliant" version of Toadsworth. They haven't used Toadsworth in any new media since Dream Team because they decided to more rigidly define the traits a Toad can and can't have, and a mustache is among the "can't have" traits. They also seem to be against any female Toads outside Toadette (which was also in the same piece of concept art that featured Toadsworth for the movie, there was both Toadette and another female Toad)
So ever since Dream Team, Toadsworth has only survived in Smash cameos and remakes/ports (ie the M&L remakes and Sunshine being in 3D All-Stars). This exception for remakes also explains why the Chancellor still exists in the SMRPG remake despite being a totally foreign thing to how Nintendo treats Toads in modern games. It seems the only place these unique Toads can exist anymore is in the original stories that had them in the past. It really sucks but I have literally no better explanation for why they'd have Toadsworth in the concept art, but a "Not Toadsworth" in the movie itself.

And in Super Mario Galaxy 🌌 1 and 2 as one of Captain Toad’s crew, and in the first level of Captain Toad Treasure tracker. And 185th comment.

Your claim about the Toads in the Mario Movie is kind of false, even though the Toads are the same in the Mario movie at most, they actually do have different skin tones in the movie (see the war planning scene and compare them in the same lit area), feminine, childish and middle aged voices and actually DO have several that appear elderly (albeit more basic in appearance). Also basic Mario characters CAN wear hats and clothes like they almost always do, they just can't alter their bodies (despite some recent Mario games and the Mario movie doing that with the Koopa Troopas having different body shapes). Sorry to say this but you didn't really do your research well and spreading misinformation in a very literal way.
Toadsworth being gone at least for the games can be many reasons even we don't know like they don't know what to do with him significantly without just being there, his former voice actor Scott Burns his real voice actor (was never Charles) no longer at Nintendo and you can make the argument they can find an actor that suits him (or even Charles) and just reuse his clips (which are too limited then many other characters). If it's a problem for Toadsworth then Toadette would be gone too because she is a Female Toad that is apparently not allowed (don't give me the excuse that she was an exception and the misconception about Toad gender interview). Also it doesn't help the case for Toadsworth being left in the concept art when Toadette, a character Nintendo LOVES using also didn't make it in the movie (besides a couple cameos) and arguably Captain Toad.
Considering Peach's origins in the Mario was quick and short explained and still unknown of where she actually came from, there is a chance a sequel can add it up possibly involving him. Just have to wait and see no matter how predictable things are.
Toads with different skin tones or being old is NOT unique toads. Play paper Mario TTYD, Toads wear different outfits, have hairstyles and some have qualities that make them VASTLY different then anything we have seen in YEARS. A toad being old or young is not unique lol. You say they can wear hats….when is the last time they wore hats…..saying I’m spreading misinformation about toads is kinda hilarious
@@Nin10doland That's even more laughable coming from you to say that Toads having age (same for Toad children like in the first two PM games + M&LSS and BiS) isn't unique because Toads aren't allowed to have age differences (So Tayce T., Zess T. The Toad Minister, The Bartender, The Master, Toadsworth, The music writers of PM64, etc. aren't unique for having traits of age at the CORE of their character? Get real, you don't even know what you're saying lmao) apparently in PM games and that's one of the unique traits of Toads or notable Toad characters in old PM games yet the movie shows them with age in elderly form even if they are generic Toads with those basic age traits, also Toads with dark skin are a thing in old PM games BTW yet you pass it off as not so unique hypocritically! (clones of Dryites, Arabian looking Toads from PM64, clones of Orange Sailor Toads and the notable Waitress both in TTYD) That kind of diversity doesn't mean anything unique to you either despite being one of the rare traits in the past PM games! Sounds hypocritically sad you deny that as not so unique considering some skin color adds some diversity especially the movie does more with the Toads than whatever modern PM or even mainstream games is doing with them (funny enough the concept art has all of the generic Toads still looking the same like always besides notable named/designed ones). The movie has no character named Toads besides Toad himself and the made-for movie, General Toad, with Toadsworth BUT also Toadette scrapped too.
I own PM64 and TTYD and have played them (big hardcore fan of those games, but you aren't ready to believe me in such a conversation because you don't know actually know me one bit so go off with your conclusions about me I guess) and I've beaten them several times each. The only Toads that have hair or other major differences are just the Toads that have their own identity/character much like in the M&L series too, somewhat besides MLSS & BiS (latter game being to some degree for the "unique Toad clones" and having differently shaped unique clones of Toads in the OG MLSS) as in one character and design and not sets of generic/clones. The ones that are generic as in clones have nothing much besides generic female ones having hair and a dress with more colors, and the male shopkeepers while most are named with some that are unnamed are clones but with a small stache. Generic male Toad kids, some other generic Toads with outfits like modern PM. Otherwise just the notable Toad characters got distinct designs only slightly for the generic ones.

Hopefully toads worth and toad dettemaybe will be in a Mario movie sequel and other characters, hopefully will be in a Mario movie sequel characters will not in the first movie. Hopefully they will appear in the sequel.
