    I own the ESP E2 Horizon NT2 in see thru black sunburst (same one in the video except with a TOM bridge). It is LITERALLY the nicest guitar I have ever held in my hand's. Anybody I show it to that know's nothing about guitar instantly realizes that this is an expensive instrument.

    Thank you for finally mentionning whether the neck is satin or painted. It's so important but often dismissed.

    • @RemmyRiffs
      @RemmyRiffs 3 года назад +1

      The 2021 versions have a satin finished neck on the Horizon models...but I own a 2019 Horizon NT2 (the same exact black sunburst one in the video, except mine is a TOM) and the neck is gloss. So if you are looking for a satin finished neck make sure it's a 2021 model.

    Locking tuners are not for tuning stability. They’re for fast string changes. They do have the added advantage/side effect of less wraps + locking helps on a non locking nut guitar, but string changing is always a godsend on a guitar with locking tuners.

    My wife bought me the ESP E-II Horizon FR-II Tiger Eye for Christmas last year. I have not stopped playing it since. It sounds absolutely awesome through my JVM 410 on the OD1 channel. Pickups are strong but not too pushy. Feels beautiful in the hands; just the right weight; easy to play. Stays in tune very well. Looks stunning in the flesh. Seen as a 'metal' oriented guitar but I would honestly use it for anything because it sounds so great and is so pleasurable to play physically. It even smells lovely!

    • @DanielRodriguez-eh1qd
      @DanielRodriguez-eh1qd 3 года назад +13

      While you’re right in a sense, locking tuners do help with tuning stability but of course nowhere near what a locking nut will do. Since you don’t have to wrap the strings around the post this helps tuning stability since the string can’t bind onto itself around the post.

    i see locking tuners w locking nuts often. I think its great guitar companies are starting to do this more. All mine have been changed out to have locking tuners... I get so many people saying its so crazy and redundant, but it's not true.. not only is it nice knowing you're really locked in, cause sometimes the locking nut doesn't always fully lock, but string changes are so quick and easy. That alone is worth the extra money for me. no more winding strings and unwinding strings..

    Ummm locking tuners? Fellas, really? Locking tuners don't "lock", in that they won't move once tuned, they simply grip the string tightly and eliminate the need for wraps around the post. Faster, easier string changes, that's what locking tuners do.

    • @kevroyo
      @kevroyo 3 года назад +7

      THANK YOU. I have been asking for locking tuners on locking trem guitars for years now simply for the ease of string changes. ESP if you see this, please for the love of god, don’t stop putting locking tuners on these guitars simply because some people don’t understand the usefulness of it.

      @@ortiz11039 locking tuners don't lock in position.... They do exactly what the op said....I have a few fr guitars, all of which have been awesome for tuning stability.... What you're referring to is the Floyd Rose locking nut, that you screw down on the strings to lock on to them essentially and add to tuning stability, and then the tuning is done with the fine tuners on the bridge. They are completely different things.

    I have a lovely LTD H1001FR Deluxe (the burl top one). It is an excellent guitar, love it to bits.
    If I ever had the chance to suggest something to ESP (and co) I would tell them to move the volume knobs just a further out and back from where they place it (terrible on the ESPs/E-IIs, not so bad on the LTDs, though it can still get in the way of the picking hand) and also bring the pickup selector forward, kinda between the two pups.
    A flatter (or even compound) radius might also be interesting, even though the 12" is very comfortable, even for shredding.

People love the ESP logo and now to get it you literally have to spend outrageous amounts of money or get lucky on reverb and buy an old one that's a bit beat up. They did it because Japanese dealers were pissed off that people were importing ESP branded standard production guitars which was undercutting their business since only original/custom shop ESPs were branded ESP in Japan.
