I researched the maintenance/repair history of about 6 '04-'06 LS430. Each one had an amazing history of mechanical and electrical failures beginning in a couple years of service. I saw starter, fuel pump, valve springs, lash adjusters. they all had door lock actuator failures. Multiple times on some. And brakes? Don't expect more than 30k on brake pads at the very most. And the super expensive intermediate exhaust piece failed often. A CD deck failed on a car barely a few years old. Trunk lid motors failed, or needed to be re-timed, or the lid would not latch. Hood release cables corroded and failed. And these were cars receiving regular service at Lexus dealers. Some of this can be due to location in snow/salt States like IL and WI. But the number of breakdowns were amazing. And Lexus parts are very expensive. I went from interested, to "No way". I'm sure these are great to drive, but be prepared to spend a lot more than the price tag.
Problem is people don’t realize the most reliable car of all time still needs to me maintained and parts still fail on them and these parts cost a fortune so it’s not as hyped as people on the internet make it sound. A good solid warranty from a Lexus dealership is still a must or I wouldn’t touch this but suit yourself
@@neuralismgamingtv4511 except this car has more than 20 years of making a reputation that is extremely reliable. Watch countless videos made by mechanics on RUclips, or even a well known European sales specialist, all of whom call it one of the best built, most reliable cars in history.
People who own ls430s tend to keep them for a very long time because of how amazing they are. I’m noticing the prices on these are actually going up and not depreciating at all.
I've had my 2005 for 4 years and outside of routine maintenance it has cost me 435 dollars over the 4 years. Easily the best daily driver I have ever had.
Current owner of an 05 LS430 here with 87k miles. After multiple years, I still love and enjoy every day the smoothness and build quality of these vehicles. Occasionally I'll consider "upgrading", but after I shop around I always come back to the same conclusion: this is the best luxury sedan ever made.
These cars especially the 04-06 were the best luxury vehicles ever made. Super reliable and high quality interiors. Quietest cabin of any vehicle , like driving a sofa.
I have one of these with 167,0000 miles. It is as smooth as it gets and can’t find a reason to replace it. Lexus began going downhill after 2007 especially in their LS line up. If you can find one of these, don’t hesitate to buy one. It still brings a smile to me every time I drive it even after seven years of ownership. Oh, literally anyone who sits in it compliments the ride quality and smoothness of it.
I believe this is the best sedan of the 2000’s. It was way ahead of its time. Might not be the most sporty or fastest but it does everything else well. Keep in mind nothing will come close in reliability
I have driven every Lexus model since 1990 and this is the best one. No I haven't driven the supercar one that costs $400,000, but I have driven all the rest. I recently purchased a 2006 LS430 Ultra Luxury with only 74,000 miles. It is the same color as the one in this video, it also has the ecru interior color and birds eye maple. My car has every bell and whistle available at the time and everything works perfectly. Simply amazing. Radar Cruise control, Pre Collision System, Rear Refrigerator, Power Reclining and Massaging Heating and Cooling Rear Seats. The Ultra even has more leather on the dash and the doors and higher quality leather. I have had extended time behind the wheel of the LS500. It is much sportier than my car but it is not as luxurious and comfortable. I have the air suspension and it is so smooth. The LS500 doesn't even come close to the ride of my car. I have driven the LS500 with the air suspension, and it is much better but it still can't touch the ride of the LS430 with air suspension.
My parents bought a 2006 brand new an drove it until last year. I bought it from them with 209,000'ish miles and I have put about 15,000 miles on it in the last year. Hands down this is the greatest car ever made. Outside of maintenance in 18 years this vehicle has had nothing done to it. Like you said it is thee smoothest driving car of all-time. The leather seats I would argue are the greatest leather seats of all-time too. The one thing I did do was removed the gps computer and replaced it with a Rhinos Radio which has Carplay and Android Auto built in. It was completely worth the $600. I hope to drive this vehicle another 200,000 miles and I am confident that 4.3L V8 and 6-speed auto will make it.
These things are selling like hot cakes here in the UAE. it is being imported from all over the world to meet the demand for it here. There are literally dealerships here that only sell LS 430.
Even if you can find a moderately good one.... just run the maintenance game on it!!! Toyos and Lexus are designed to succeed !!!! and have a friend with a scanner if issues arise!! lol I've bought old school shit Toyos and drove them until they make most people uncomfortable.... had a friend say one time that you got your money's worth out of this... lol buy a decent set of Craftsman tools and watch RUclips videos will push amateurs out in this game!! I"ve owned 10 Toyos and half dozen American motor vehicles and BMW, Mercedes, and Volvo's and the only thing I would pair to a Toyota is a Volvo.... I do miss my old school VW's though... 2 microbuses and 1 Baja bug! Definitely, need to own a set of wrenches for them.... thank you; You Tube!!!! I currently own a ''02 Tundra with 4.7 UZ2 motor and a '11 Lexus ES350, absolutely brilliantly engineered vehicles in my opinion!! Looking tonight at an LS430 car.... I may buy this and park it at a friends house so my neighbors don't think I'm up to no good!!! lol @@GreatDrums.
My 2004 LS430 that I recently purchased has 223k miles on it and it still delivers and drives like my 2006 LS430 that I sold last year with 117k miles on it. I have no doubt my new older Lexus will last for years. Theirs a reason I didnt hesitate buying one with higher miles since it was well maintained and it shows. Best car I have ever owned hands down. Keep maintaining these cars people! They will treat you well!
@@ITm4n My LS has now 248k on it. I had a small coolant leak underneath the intake manifold that i took care of. While I was in there I removed the starter and had it freshened up by the local starter repair shop. Ive also replaced every suspension part up front and almost everything in the rear minus one of the arms and upper control arms (was chasing down a noise and decided to replace a few parts to cover my basis). When you go look at the car. Make sure you shine a flash light under the intake manifold to see if theirs any signs of red coolant leak. Look at the oil on the dipstick to make sure shes all clean. If you feel or hear any suspension noises ( especially in the rust belt states ) just assume that you will have to cut some bolts out as they might be seized inside the bushings. More then likely itll be the bolts that adjust camber and what not. Also please make sure that the timing belt and components have been replaced. You can remove the top plastic cover from the engine. And remove the 3 or 4 bolts from the cam gear cover to check out the timing belt condition. If its cracked be careful. or if it looks a little glossy, assume you will have to tackle that aswell. Theirs a good video on RUclips of this being done and its easy in mu opinion. All of these repairs were worth it for me as i did everything my self and gpt this car riding like it should. Should be good for a good while now. I know all of this sounds lke a lot. But this is how these cars can last 500k+ miles. Take care of it and itll take care of you. Cheers.
You can tell when lexus made this, they made it to stand above the rest. Probably the most important modern car in the industry because it pushed the industry forward. It was pretty much a statement of "This is how you build a car".
I had a 2006 LS 430 with the massage seats in the back and the cooler. It was called the ultra Lux package I believe. But that 4.3 was an iconic V8 engine.
& Believe Yours Had the Cooler in the Back Armrest,@ Least Every One I Saw on U Tube & For Sale Had it.Those w/ the Massager & Extended on Passenger Back Seat Still Pull Good Prices on Ones for Sale.
@@danpan001 I have it 02 model, here were I live the air suspension is not expensive but for an old model like that it's advisable to replace them with normal ones
This car was beast, I had 3 of them when they came out in 03 ' 05' and 06. The only downside the engine HP was lower on this to 278 from 291 on the 02'. Currently, I have the 07' LS 460, bought it brand new and now has 145K and still runs like it's new from day one. Lexus Forever.
@@MeynMotorGroup LOL yep. Also forgot to add I had 18' GS350 F Sport bought it new for $55K, I regret buying it, it felt like a Toyota Camry on steroids. I traded that in for 19' RX 350 2 months ago. Also, I had a 09' RX 350, and I hated that thing LOL. BTW I love your channel, it has a great balance of info and driving, and a majority of the channels don't get that right unless it is Top Gear or The Grand Tour (Clarkson, Hammond, May) LOL. I would love to do something together if possible, I am a car nerd myself.
Yes that car has the lines like no other!!! Anyone who walked into a garage with these two vehicles and is torn at which one to spend more time with is totally worthy of engaging in conversation!!! lol
The best Lexus is undoubtedly the LS430, no questions. I love these LS430s. I looked for 8 months to find my low mile 2003 LS430, ULTRA premium package, which I believe was a $14,000 upgrade when brand new. I don't plan on selling it anytime soon, as some viewers have noted, the value on these cars are gradually going up.
I used to own a 2004 LS430 it’s been giving me nothing but problems, had to replace the valve cover gaskets at 120k miles due to oil leakage. All the struts/control arms had to be replaced the handling was terrible. The mark levinson amplifier went out and the cheapest repair cost me $500. The head unit kept malfunctioning with messages such as “check system” or “the external system not connected”. I also had problems with the power window controls, every time I’d roll down the passenger window it wouldn’t shut back and took at least 5 tries to get it closed all the way it would stop halfway. I also had to replace engine mounts the dipstick tube (leaking oil) charcoal canister sensor (vsc light). To say “this is the most reliable ever” would be an overstatement. It’s got plenty of problems of its own.!
@@nicholasscirollio913 this is odd. I mean I know that there are parts that wear out on all cars and some of the things you’ve mentioned are wear and tear items.
It’s older Lexus vehicles of this era in general. I’ve had my ‘04 LS430 for 6 years and added 65k miles to it, had an ‘01 LS430 for a year before my ‘04, and owned a ‘94 LS400 in the early 2000s. Meanwhile every LS460 I’ve driven has been nice and smooth and all... but Lexus of the mid 90s - mid 2000s is just another league entirely when it comes to the smooth, supple, refined experience. This era LS is just completely devoid of any engine or road vibration, harshness, and noise unlike anything else on the planet with the exception of Bentley.
Nice massive congrats and yea the 500 is a bit weird I hated the 500h I drove a standard 500 and liked it a little more but I still have to try the 500 F sport just to be sure
Huge fan of this car, I’ve had Lexus fever since I was in my teens abs bought my first ES. This model color and setup is one I might make a move on. Thank you for the great review!!
in 2006 they had to adjust the HP downward due to some regulations. It is the same engine. I have a 2006, purchased new, black on black. Currently 70K miles. Absolutely fabulous. People often remark on how quiet it is, even questioning if the motor is running or not! Rode on a 2007 LS 460-not as smooth riding, and a big drawback is the back seat. Really only comfortable for 4 passengers. All in all, my 2006 is a fabulous automobile.
Nice! That is an awesome ride and literally impossible to come across now in the used market same motor as this crazy. Yea really liked the look of these older Lexus cars for sure! Thanks again sir for stopping by
That color is Briarwood Pearl (4S1) one of the rarer colors only available from 2004-2006 - with the cashmere interior. I own an '04 exactly like the car in this video, same color including the sports suspension! Love it!
i drive my ls430 in boston/brighton/brookline and i have many hard working and educated people come up to me and tell me they are looking so bad for one of these, or its their dream car. i have had a guy in his ls460 come up to me asking if i am selling my 430. this car is a classic and its reliable.
My dad helped me get a 04 Lexus LS430 a couple of years ago in HS my sophomore year. I LOVED my car. I still have it along with a 2012 Mercedes E350. My mom drives the Lexus and she loves it.
Bought a 2002 430. 230k miles. Still rides and drives very smoothly. I am so impressed by it. Already have friends that want to buy it, but I don't think so. Very nice video on this car, very detailed. Good job !
I own a 2002 LS430 and I am the first owner it is a pearl !!! It has bulletproof V8 engine! I changed all my cars except this one. change engine oil on time, do regular maintenance and it will last forever. LEXUS THE PURSUIT OF PERFECTION !
I have a 2007 SC430 so same drive train as the LS. Literally everyday I allow time to escape in the absolute silky smooth luxury that this car offers. The way it pulls and delivers the power is epic.
Very nice review my friend! You were fluid and articulate, and it was easy to tell that "you" and a passion for what you're doing here really came through in this review. This is indeed a great ride!
My 05 LS430 is far and away the best car I have ever owned. I recently treated it to a DVLA (UK) number plate TY05LEX (Toyota Lex)! Thank you for your excellent review.
I was fortunate enough to buy a 119k LS430 in 2019, garaged, from an elderly lady and keep it garaged. I haven't enjoyed driving this much since I was in my teens. I sold a 2018 Civic to get the 2003 Lexus and it felt like a huge upgrade.
Super review thank you Kevin! What a Sunday morning treat! What a ride the LS430 like that one good gf that got away "you have to come back and experience it one more time" 😂 Your reviews are period appropriate for the car you're reviewing and that's much appreciated, now I really gotta check one of these out! Thank you and God bless! 👍🙏
Haha appreciate it my friend and yea that's exactly what it's like 😆 had to try this engine out one more time and I didn't care what it was in SC GS LS haha such a gem. And thanks again for stopping by always humbled to have you here
I have an ‘05 with that optional sport suspension and 18’s. If you select ‘PWR’ mode on the dash switch, the suspension tightens up noticeably, and your back-road cornering is flat and tight - none of that interstate float. I was kind of hoping you would give that PWR option a try on your test car. Yes that raises the shift points as well, but the major thing you will notice is the suspension leveling. Otherwise you get the standard float. For me it’s like owning two different cars.

@@MeynMotorGroup kind of, that is because of burrs on engine cylinders. These German engines are built to break after like 150k miles or even earlier. It is a common problem, surprised that you did not know that(Porsche 4.8 and 4.5 especially turbocharged, Mercedes 3.5 m272 and 4.6 biturbo on a newer models)
So after years of drooling, I finally bought a 2005 LS this year and I must say, this is a fine automobile. The car is so quiet & smooth that I at times commute with no music just the melodies of the 4.3. It’s reliable and gets 28.9-32 MPG on the HWY, what more could you want??
Have owned this car (same year model) since March. I've gone and done the big bucks preventative maintenance.. timing belt and a whole lot of internal engine components, and also done the rest of the lot (suspension stuff, tires, brakes etc.) Can't see myself selling this car, I'll be quite honest.. I already know I'm going to have immediate sellers remorse if I did ever do go down that route. This car is one of a kind. The admiration this car has is totally deserved.
Use 500 grit sandpaper and lightly sand the rough steering wheel clear coat. It will smooth out fast. Bought new in 05, 175,000 having belt changed again by indy, DE, $800 including pump and pulleys, First gas to FL each winter 590 miles, 26+ mpg at 70 mph!! At 75 yrs hoping it is my last car. Amazing transportation.
I'm glad you are seeing first hand what l experience every time I get to drive my 2004 LS 430 Pack Président, called Ultra in the USA. Thanks for your videos. Your ability to compare and share your knowledge is appreciated.
You have to take into account how well the car was maintained with age. There isn’t supposed to be slop in the steering at all. There must be some worn bushing. I have an 04 and it’s as solid as can be. The slightest input turns the car.
@@MeynMotorGroup exactly it’s easy to forget how old these cars are, I just did a bunch of work myself on mine and it barely costed me anything. Dealerships and mechanic shops just overcharge for maintenance and repairs when parts are just slightly above average, there’s just more things to replace. These cars are also mindlessly easy to work on.
@@MeynMotorGroup I too enjoyed the reference, but Chris had the LS400, not the 430 :-). Anyway, I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. Didn't you used to have an Acura TLX? I'm leasing one now. It was the last 2020 tech package they had with diamond white paint. Got a pretty good deal since it was the outgoing model. $345 a month with only first payment and dealer fees due at signing.
All LS430’s have the same output of 278 HP. Lexus originally claimed 290 however when the SAE got around to reviewing the dyno data (years later) they didn’t agree with the way Lexus had interpreted it.
Lexus most likely wanted to claim 290 to match the 290 of the 1997 - 2000 LS400’s 4.0 L. The enhanced torque curve provided by the 4.3 L does make it superior overall though.
If I had more dough, I’d get an LS400, LS430, GS400, is300, IS350 and a GX470. That’s my Lexus dream team! I’ve had an LS400 and two GX470s. All reliable great vehicles. Currently on a Mazda kick (who knew they handled so great? I didn’t.... impressed) but will always have a soft spot for Lexus, my original “aspirational car” back in England in the 90’s growing up. When I moved to LA in 2000 I couldn’t beleive how common Lexus were! Kind of a rare breed in the uk, or used to be back in the day.
i have the 2003 LS430 and i love it to death. Simply best car ive owned. I test drove two 2020 NX300 and 2020 ES350 UL and i kid you not, my LS rides better, smoother and buttery. Its one of those cars that you keep it for life
Of course the LS rides better, it's their flagship that has double wishbone front suspension. The nx300 is an economy car and the es350 is a Camry/avalon that uses struts.
I think it's the best example of what you need in a car. Most consumers dont want all this new junk tech that going to go out in a few years.. make it comfy, drive well, useful tech, good looks and reliability and you got a good thing
I agree... just sold my '20 Avalon Hybrid Limited in choice colors.... and the only thing I will miss is the JBL stereo (best sound system I've ever encountered in an automobile) and the blind spot indicators.... this car had it all.... and I really didn't need any of it......
I bought a 2004 LS430 with the Modern Luxury Package...same as in this video...in January. It has 152,000 miles and it is truly the nicest car I have ever owned. I rarely air it out because it's such a pleasure to drive I don't mind taking my time. Everything works just as it did it's first day. A couple little things you didn't mention that just make me smile. The front vents will oscillate from side to side once the interior temperature reaches the desired level. The center console has an a\c vent and it gets downright chilly in their. I will never sell this thing. It's just too nice and it still gets looks from people. One other thing. I also have the slight cracking in the steering wheel. That is due from exposure to the sun and temperature changes. You can't feel the crack and it's hardly noticeable.
i actually bought a 2005 LS430 from a friend its driven 263,000 Kilometers i drove it all accross canada 6000+ kilometers & not once did it give me any issues or anything it drove like a tank these cars are like tanks strong & last life time... enroute to vancouver on the way at one of the gas station the guy at the counter actually told me its a nice mercedes... 🤣 he thought its a mercedes until i told him its a lexus & hes shocked... took me more then a year to find a canadian spec full ultra clean piece & finally got my hands on one & that too to a great price... an investment that you could never regret
Lol can’t tell u bro how many people say it’s a Mercedes and I correct them and say it’s a Lexus I own a 2006 Lexus LS430 and once at a gas station a guy tapped on my window and wanted to car talk he said nice Mercedes I corrected him too and said it’s a Lexus then he said Mercedes Lexus same thing 😂🤣🤝
Enjoyed the review👌 I got an ‘05 here in Aus with 285000kms (just under 180000miles) I can tell you, I’ve driven extremely low mileage examples, and my high mile LS still drives as good as those. They are an engineering masterpiece, and to me that’s a big part of why this car is so luxurious - the build quality and reliability, not to mention that engine. It’s not a luxurious experience if your car’s at the shop for repairs often. There’s nothing quite like an LS430. Also, that steering wheel is a common issue - the clear lacquer cracks from sunlight over the years, as it retracts right up in direct view to the sun.
It looks like the Modern Luxury trim level. That gave you the Mark Levinson and rear heated seats but retained single pane glass. The Custom Luxury level gave you more leather options, added soft close doors, and added dual pane glass. The radar cruise and self parking were still optional. The Ultra luxury added paint options and added the fabulous rear package. The CL was pretty rare, but if you added the radar cruise and self park it was about as luxury as a sedan for mortals could be.
Had a 03 Ls430 for 8 years loved the car wife said it’s looks to old for my age at that time . Sold it on Craig’s list first person say it bought it up . 6800 it’s had 140k thought that was a good deal prob left cash on the table . Bought a 460 awd 2011 this 86k still wish I kept the 430
So you really loved that car? I guess you did because everybody who has ever driven it can confirm that its the best thing ever made. How can your wife's opinion be that strong?
well, cant stop watching videos of this generation LS430 because it looks so freaking good. Sliver on black or silver on gray with the sport edition five spoke wheels mmm mmm so good looking
No bragging But you cannot beat an expert knowledge when assessing a cars worth, I’ve owned all the top cars. RR x 12 .. Mercedes, x6 ..Audi x2 .. BMW, x4 .. none repeat NONE come close to an early 2000s model LS430 ..Mine is a 2005 Model ( top speck )… they are truly time warp and most enjoyable to own ,
For the past few years, I have dreamed of owning a 2004-2006 LS430. I have probably watched every LS430 review here on RUclips and I was hooked. I've literally only owned 90s cars since I started driving at 15 years old, and 5 years later, I'm so happy to finally say that I bought my dream car last month. 2005 LS430 Ultra Luxury, black on black, completely optioned out and always serviced at the dealer. Somehow I managed to pick it up for $4800 and I couldn't be happier. It lived up to my expectations in every way and I have never had such an enjoyable driving experience before. Great review!
I've owned my 2006 LS430 with standard suspension for almost a year and about 8k miles. I have customized mine a little bit as well, but not too wildly. I would 100% recommend tinting the windows and putting spacers on the wheels, as they look absolutely fantastic when the wheels match the angle of the car's frontal profile.
Spacers..... where do you put those in? on the wheel mount or suspension,... sorry for the ignorance!! What thickness of spacers?? I just bought an ES350 '2011" in Matador Red Mica with the creme (white) colored interior and it screamed old lady car until I put 20% tint on it and my friend who drove me to pick it up couldn't believe how good it looked afterwards.... I've owned 40+ cars and this is the first one I've ever tinted..... Really hit it out of the park!! I'm looking at 06 Lexus tonight around 10 grand.... low miles and Mark Levinson stereo.... ;-) and Tint is in future if I can buy it!!
@lanceguinn9807 spacers are placed on the brake disc where the wheel mounts to it. I have 25mm thickness on the rear wheels and 15mm thickness in front.
I also have an 01 with 59k miles in pristine condition. Currently trying to sell it because I have another LS430, an RX350 and an Infiniti...just too many cars!
@@chrisoconnor3119 Hi Chris! I’m in Texas and trying to come up with price as I just decided a couple days ago that I need (not want) to sell. In a year I’ve only put about 3k miles on it as I drive my other cars more often
I had a 98 LS400 for over 10 years and final mileage 228000 miles. It was the best, most enjoyable drive (among others I had a Porsche 928 GTS, 76 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance) and only gave it up when the transmission couldn't be fixed for lack of parts. Since I have acquired a 2005 Ls430 which now has 60000 miles. The LS430 has many features (air suspension, rear massage seats, etc., etc.) and I do like it but the seats in the LS400 were so much more comfortable that I miss it every time I sit in the LS430. Also the LS400 felt much more solid... The LS430 engine is faster but smoother? I don't know about that. Personally I would prefer a review of the car in general rather than a particular car with the salesman's business card included.
I've got a 2004 LS430 with the 'Ultra Luxury Package' which basically adds every option they offer. Bought it for my father back in 2007, RRP here in Australia was $178k, I got it from the Lexus Dealership for $40k. The early depreciation on these was INSANE. Anyhow my father passed away about 6 years ago and I 'inherited back' the LS430 from him and I've been using it ever since as my daily. I've still got my Alfa Spider for the weekends when I want to go for a drive down the coast or whatever though. IF I ever sell both I intend to buy a 2nd hand Lexus LC500 since it is like the perfect combination of an LS and a Spider. But not till after the pandemic and this price bubble pops.
16 years have passed and look how flawless this looks , has everything you need and dont need , no wonder people chase them now ... I like all the LS's but the LS500 for me is just so distinct from the rivals in its design wich makes him super unique and thats why is my favorite but if you want a great comuter where you can relax on your ways without having a lifetime mortage to pay ,this is it. I really wanna see your thoughts on the SC430 "the worst car in the world" LOL and also i hope you miraculously find a toyota century v12 the smoothest engine of all time , they were sold only in japan but you guys can import them now
Yea I still love the looks of the new LS500 looks baller as hell I was supposed to review an SC and compare with the LS vert but the SC got sold almost instantly lol yea I always loved the Century if I wasn't poor I would import one lol
2004 LS430 UL here (for your pricing, it was $84K delivered). Owned since new with just over 160K miles. The only issues I've dealt with were the ML Amp (now being replaced - what a mess) and fresh hoses/gaskets at 120K. Over the life of the car, I have maybe $14K total in maintenance and that refresh at 120K. The airbag suspension is still solid (and checked). Unless something unexpected happens, this one will be around for quite a bit longer. The steering wheel finish cracking ... well, it's lacquered wood in direct sun when you're out in the world and mine has it too (we lived in Phoenix).
I own a 2005 ls430 with 171,000 and some change on it and it still has its style and grace..I marvel at how elegant this car is ...smooth and quiet on the road....careful in long trips because everyone in the car falls asleep...lol
Great car I had three LS430 02 03 and a Black fully loaded 05 loved the cars never a issue I wish I would’ve kept at least one of them Now I have a sporty BMW 750Li I love my BMW but the Lexus IS a close second
Oh wow you're very Fortunate and lucky to have 3 that is awesome. And yes I have driven a 750li and it's an absolute rocket, easily one of the fastest full size sedans and best driving. Enjoy that beast my friend and stay blessed
@@MeynMotorGroup It definitely is. It's been kept in great shape. Although my steering wheel does have a few cracks on the top like the one in your videos. I believe that is the result of slight sun damage.
An excellent car but definitely not the best car ever made. The first and second LS generation is far superior. I would say the LS430 is the third best LS ever made.

@@prism8289 IKR. Literally in the argument for the most reliable car of all time.
These cars were made when Lexus was at their peak of quality standard.
Yea this was next level
it still is
You are 100% right, there will never ever be a car which is as reliable, and have the same level quality interior
Obsolutely agree, my ls430 has almost 170k miles, drives like new, and extremely reliable! Best with Michelin premier all season tires
Yea this era of car was built with passion and pride
People who own ls430s tend to keep them for a very long time because of how amazing they are. I’m noticing the prices on these are actually going up and not depreciating at all.
Yes that's true
I got a 2004 LS430 and plan on keeping it forever and I’m planning on getting another one just to have 2
Agreed. I shopped for 2 years before buying my 2004. Prices for anything under 100,000 miles seem to be going up all the time.
@@D4tnuyrkkiid90 lmao same just got a 03 recently and I’m loving it
I've had my 2005 for 4 years and outside of routine maintenance it has cost me 435 dollars over the 4 years. Easily the best daily driver I have ever had.
Ford's old CEO had one as his main car. Someone asked him why he drove an LS and he said something like "because it's the finest car ever made"
I remember this forgot to mention that and yea everytime he got off a flight he would get into one of these he said it was the best car ever
He sure did I remembered that too
Then he used that experience and built the Ford Focus, the worst car ever made.
100 😎
Thanks for sharing my friend!
These cars especially the 04-06 were the best luxury vehicles ever made. Super reliable and high quality interiors. Quietest cabin of any vehicle , like driving a sofa.
It really was great cara
I have one of these with 167,0000 miles. It is as smooth as it gets and can’t find a reason to replace it. Lexus began going downhill after 2007 especially in their LS line up. If you can find one of these, don’t hesitate to buy one. It still brings a smile to me every time I drive it even after seven years of ownership. Oh, literally anyone who sits in it compliments the ride quality and smoothness of it.
It is the best car ever made in human history.

I believe this is the best sedan of the 2000’s. It was way ahead of its time. Might not be the most sporty or fastest but it does everything else well. Keep in mind nothing will come close in reliability
For sure!
of the 2000's?
My favorite Lexus ever. 2004-2006 only. I drive a 2017 ES and still lust after this car.
Where did you buy that CarPlay thing for it?
These things are selling like hot cakes here in the UAE. it is being imported from all over the world to meet the demand for it here. There are literally dealerships here that only sell LS 430.
Haha I believe it awesome ride for sure

Even if you can find a moderately good one.... just run the maintenance game on it!!! Toyos and Lexus are designed to succeed !!!! and have a friend with a scanner if issues arise!! lol

Keep maintaining these cars people! They will treat you well!
hows it going a year later? currently considering getting one with 210 on the clock so id love to hear.
@@ITm4n My LS has now 248k on it. I had a small coolant leak underneath the intake manifold that i took care of. While I was in there I removed the starter and had it freshened up by the local starter repair shop. Ive also replaced
every suspension part up front and almost everything in the rear minus one of the arms and upper control arms (was chasing down a noise and decided to replace a few parts to cover my basis).

I don't plan on selling it anytime soon, as some viewers have noted, the value on these cars are gradually going up.
Ls400 and Ls430 are my two favorite lexus.
Nice!
My fav also !
My ‘04 LS430 looks sharp but I have to concede that the 1998-2000 LS400 is the best *looking* Lexus sedan ever made
The late 90 till 2000’s was the pinnacle of Lexus quality and craftsmanship.
LS500 interior still blows me away
Hands down the best LS ever made.
Its one of my favorites for sure
Nicholas Scirollio hmm idk what to say mine has 218,000 miles time for timing belt but that’s about it.

Yup mileage is irrelevant with this car
This is so true.
My 2000 GS400 engine is smoother than my 2017 LS460. So there is something to be said about the older V8.
Yea I agree with that and the 460 motor is still smooth so that says a lot about these older motors
@@lexusls I was told that with the older V8s, it was belt driven and thus smoother/quieter. They now use chain driven.

Thank you my friend! And yea this really was a nice spec lower mileage if I had the means I would have considered it too!
The horsepower difference was due to a change in the SAE net horsepower ratings and the way they were estimated. There was no change to the engine.
Yes another commenter just let me know that makes sense good to know
in 2006 they had to adjust the HP downward due to some regulations.

You have to take into account how well the car was maintained with age. There isn’t supposed to be slop in the steering at all. There must be some worn bushing. I have an 04 and it’s as solid as can be. The slightest input turns the car.
That is a solid point actually I keep having the mindset that these cars are new and that's not the case despite how well they drive
@@MeynMotorGroup exactly it’s easy to forget how old these cars are, I just did a bunch of work myself on mine and it barely costed me anything. All LS430’s have the same output of 278 HP. Lexus originally claimed 290 however when the SAE got around to reviewing the dyno data (years later) they didn’t agree with the way Lexus had interpreted it.
Right, shows this guy's age lol.
Ahh so it's how SAE interpreted the measured the dyno numbers gotcha thanks for clearing that up
Lexus most likely wanted to claim 290 to match the 290 of the 1997 - 2000 LS400’s 4.0 L. The enhanced torque curve provided by the 4.3 L does make it superior overall though.

I did forget the oscillating vents that was a big one and massibe congrats my friend so happy for you!
i actually bought a 2005 LS430 from a friend its driven 263,000 Kilometers i drove it all accross canada 6000+ kilometers & not once did it give me any issues or anything it drove like a tank these cars are like tanks strong & last life time... enroute to vancouver on the way at one of the gas station the guy at the counter actually told me its a nice mercedes...
I loved my LS400 it was so smooth, but I my favorite car ever was my LX470
Yes I reviewed a 470 and I understand, its such a unique feeling to whip that big ol tank around it feels presidential
Even as a Ls400 owner, I think the 430 might be my favorite!
LS400 is legendary tho! You're very lucky to have one
Still watching the ads before the video starts and yes I agree legendary car!
Really humbled by that my friend I really appreciate your support and yes awesome car for sure!
@@MeynMotorGroup Yes trying to find one myself I found a few but not sure a 140k mile LS430 ML is worth $7,900
Yea honestly they're up there in price and dealers charge a premium for them due to the demand I would even do a nationwide search
Still the Best OG Style Lexus
Yea its a timeless design for sure
That’s a fact bro I own a 2006 and I think it’s the best looking big body Lexus ever made has that European look of a Mercedes which I love 😎
Absolutely brother
Exhaust Sports Auto 🤝
Solomon Yunatanov wrong the ls400 is.
265K miles on my 05 still running strong, best cars ever
Enjoyed the review👌 I got an ‘05 here in Aus with 285000kms (just under 180000miles)
I can tell you, I’ve driven extremely low mileage examples, and my high mile LS still drives as good as those.
Excellent info my friend and glad to see you still have yours yea these really are immune to mileage phenomenal cars def hold on to it!
Agreed!
Had a 03 Ls430 for 8 years loved the car wife said it’s looks to old for my age at that time . Sold it on Craig’s list first person say it bought it up . 6800 it’s had 140k thought that was a good deal prob left cash on the table . Bought a 460 awd 2011 this 86k still wish I kept the 430
I know how you feel I had an 08 460 loved it but this is just special
So you really loved that car? I guess you did because everybody who has ever driven it can confirm that its the best thing ever made. How can your wife's opinion be that strong?
well, cant stop watching videos of this generation LS430 because it looks so freaking good. Sliver on black or silver on gray with the sport edition five spoke wheels mmm mmm so good looking
No bragging But you cannot beat an expert knowledge when assessing a cars worth,
I’ve owned all the top cars. RR x 12 .. Mercedes, x6 ..Audi x2 .. BMW, x4 .. none repeat NONE come close to an early 2000s model LS430 ..Mine is a 2005 Model ( top speck )… they are truly time warp and most enjoyable to own ,
I spoke to a Lexus technician and he said this was the best Lexus ever built 04-06 he said you have to really beat it up and neglect it to fail
😎 Yes it’s a Great car never getting rid of mines she is a keeper
Massive congrats my friend yes one of the few cars that truly lives up to the hype
Brother you won the lotto. The prices on these keep going up.:)
I truly love and appreciate your reviews. very detailed. and luxurious words. thank you for what you do.
Extremely humbled by that my friend thanks so much for your kind words!
Have an 06 Custom Luxury, Flint Mica on black semi-aniline with dark burnt wood trim. Best car I have ever had. Much better than the BMW’s I’ve owned.
That is awesome!
Lexus quality is unparalleled at 16 years old, looks great. It says a lot about the previous owner also.
Very true!
I drove a 2005 for 12 years, best car I ever owned.
Damn man. Lexus vehicles are just amazing. This particular model year LS430 is so good. And I think it is/will be a classic.
I agree my friend!
I owned a '01 ls430 and I still miss that car. It was the finest car I am familiar with.
Nice! Glad you had one
I have an 01 ls430 with 218,000 miles love it 😍
I also have an 01 with 59k miles in pristine condition. Currently trying to sell it because I have another LS430, an RX350 and an Infiniti...just too many cars!
@@ritabaldwin3068 what state you in? How much? This spring I'm gonna buy myself a daily driver
@@chrisoconnor3119 Hi Chris! I’m in Texas and trying to come up with price as I just decided a couple days ago that I need (not want) to sell. In a year I’ve only put about 3k miles on it as I drive my other cars more often
Best, quietest, most comfortable car out there hands down.
My favorite Lexus of all time I would buy one if I could fine the spec I like
Yea these are hard to find in good condition
the cracks in the steering wheel aren't from the factory. My brother has an '06 and has only one small crack
Gotcha!
Good job bro! I got the same car and I love going on long trips with it! So smooth!
Nice enjoy that ride!
Truly a special car. So buttery. And they run .....forever.
@@MeynMotorGroup weird that the worst car ever to exist disapeared so fast...
Yea nobody buys coupes
I have a 2005 LS430. 74k miles. Super solid. Super quiet and smooth. Driving it is like therapy.
So relaxing yes it definitely is very therapeutic
Wow such a clean example for sure a keeper my friend
What tires do you recommend for road noise and the smoothest ride
@@LilRick96 Well I have Michelins on mine. Can't complain about road noise at all.
@@MeynMotorGroup It definitely is. It's been kept in great shape. Although my steering wheel does have a few cracks on the top like the one in your videos. I believe that is the result of slight sun damage.
Best damn car ever made.....period
Many would agree!
Agreed and had one for 8 years.
An excellent car but definitely not the best car ever made. The first and second LS generation is far superior. I would say the LS430 is the third best LS ever made.
