I heard good reputation about this pickups, very good sound bud!! Good comparison. I think I like the Alnico II. Cheers.

Thanks. I am impressed with them. Didn't cost any more than pickups I've ordered from China, and actually cheaper than some. These will provide some different voicing to a couple of guitars.

Good vid, Mike! LOL These comparison vids are always hard for me. I think I like the '59s better with the clean tone - and the '57s better with drive. Hard to say though, from this end. Anyway - great job. That "Test-Guitar" concept seems to be really working well for you! Cool concept!

You're right tha 57s were better sounding with drive. The 59s were more brash and unpleasant for me. Still they can serve a purpose somewhere.

A huge sigh of relief, i wasn't sure if you would like these pickups
I have used a few sets of them to upgrade the entry level guitars that i like to buy and modify
until they sound and play like more expensive models.
There are plenty of better but more expensive pickups to choose from, but these are good enough
    for upgrading entry level guitars.
Thanks for mentioning my name in the video.🙂

Never heard of these. I wonder if they make Tele pups!?
Both sound great but I like the warmth of the alnico 2s.
You can always add treble but a nice warm low end is not always available on all amps!
    Nice video Mike!

Excellent in depth demo. Gimme the 57s for a little less snarl and a touch more clarity. Both choices are good; it depends on what you want to do.

Hi Mike, Nice pickups. Good work. I would also like to replace the pickups on my Stratocaster.

The Alnico 5's have a familiar sound to me- My Epiphone LP, the HB35Plus and the new Gold Top have this type. The 2s have more clarity and less shriek, making me want to get a pair to try them out. I've heard the good word about Vanson for a couple years now.

I have a set of uncovered 57 in my Epiphone LP and a set of 59 with chrome covers in my Epiphone SG.
57 are hotter and has more bite than 59, well suited for hardrock and heavy metal. Has a tighter bottom end with palm muted riffs and high gain.
59s are rounder sounding with lower output and is suited for blues and classic rock. Very smooth and pleasent sounding with low to medium gain. Can handle high gain too, but 57s are much better for those styles.

Just gone for the 57's for a Flying V, which is already fairly bright. Hoping they'll handle the overdrive and not be too screechy.

I think the 57s were a good choice. The 59 are brighter so would likely be similar to what you have.
I put 57s in my Benton gold LP and love them

@@2bikemikesguitartopics145 It's a Westfield copy which I'm pimping up. Ceramics in there at the mo, so I'm putting new pots in etc. Pretty sure the ceramics will be microphonic, so not even going to bother trying em' live. Good to know that the Vansons are wax potted. It was a fairly cheap guitar, so for the price these pups made sense. Thank you for your time and excellent video.

I haven't had any toneriders so I can't say. Its the best choice for you and what gendres of music you like to play. Pick something that offers you the best diversity whether that's humbuckers and or singles combined.
