I'm so glad this show was my introduction to the X-Men as a kid and because of that characters like her : susan storm, scarlet witch and gwen Tennyson have always been my favorites
Jean in 90’s: “Storm, could you get me a glass of water” Jean from Evo.: “I held a whole dam up with the water overflowing girl are you even trying 🤦🏽♂️”
She starts the cartoon as very weak, could barely lift a chair, and would struggle lifting Scott and Kurt. But her power levels increased throughout the show to a point she was easily lifting huge military helicopters.
In X-men: Evolution they were supposed to be like 17-18 and jean did as much as possible not to mention how powerful she was at such a young age. Jean was super powerful without phoenix, and the other shows tried to downplay her power to make phoenix look like the peak of her powers. She did almost all the work the professor did and don't forget when we found out professor had a son and he was like mega-powerful yea she tried her best to fight back knowing he was stronger. In conclusion x-men: evolution was the best animated x-men tv marvel made :)
I’m still salty all these years later that evolution was canceled before there was a proper legion (the son you mentioned) arc ever properly happened, instead leaving with a cliffhanger episode regarding him.
Man, I love the '90s series, but it really did all of the female characters dirty. Every episode had a moment where one of them fainted and got saved by one of their male teammates. I know X-Men Evolution is very 2000s, and it took a lot of liberties, but it did a much better job of illustrating how formidable the X-Men were.
how can people say the 90's show is superior to evolution... i watched both growing up in the early 2000's and the 90's version ALREADY felt goofy and outdated to me at that time, and i was only a kid. i even tried rewatching it recently because of x-men '97 but i couldn't bare it, meanwhile x-men evolution still feels fresh and enjoyable. people are blinded by nostalgia...
I am a late 2000s child and I preferred Evolution because the 90s art was ghastly to me. I got used to it and I am currently liking it. I am at mid season 4.
You mean like what she did all the time? She single-handedly saved the X-Men from being buried underwater and atomized Apocalypse. I don't know why some people are in denial about all the good things presented in the movies, but it's pretty annoying.
Jean : * Can't hold an explosion that's growing larger * Me : Understandable. Jean : * Unable to hold a man in her Telekinesis for more than 5 seconds * Me : Bruh
90's cartoon Jean was nerfed so bad, she looked like she was a novice with her powers. Will never understand why they did that, Jean in the 90's comics was a badass like Evolution Jean!
Jean was being way too nice here tbh... if I were her, I would be smacking Mystique back and forth between the floor and the ceiling repeatedly for trying to kill my man lmao
If Glass Joe could easily beat the living crap out of 90's Jean, Evolution Jean could just as easily rip him in two with her mind, vertically and horizontally!
Everybody’s talking about the train but what about 3:25 ? That was the coolest to me. Also a big pay off to Scott and Jean becoming adults ad developing their relationships through most of the series
That remains my favourite Jean moment in the entirety of the Evolution cartoon. And that's saying something, considering how many awesome scene Jean gets, some not even included in this video.
I like to add in addition to the improvement on Gene's power set in X-Men evolution, can we all appreciate the costume was better in X-Men evolution ? It definitely was an upgrade
6:46 We see exactly the moment Jean began evolving into Phoenix. Like the original comic story, XME would have focused on Jean becoming Phoenix in season 5 as a result of her mutation causing her powers to rapidly and exponentially grow way beyond her control (no cosmic force). It’s a shame we never got season 5.
If it works like flying, it technically still is I guess... One good example of flying that's not flying is thor.. He can't fly.. He just travels around throwing the mjolnir.. Like a mini version of what mercenary tao in dragonball does

Jean from Evo.: “I held a whole dam up with the water overflowing girl are you even trying 🤦🏽♂️”
I love that in the first minute of the video Jean gave Scott an X-Gasam so good he passed out like 90's Jean used to get all the time.
Funny thing is, I think that EVO Jean only ever had one X-Gasm that made her pass out. She was fighting Xavier's Son, Legion.
@@ShadowSonic2legion is more powerful than her????
@@susanstorm7910Without the Phoenix, yes he is
3:27 One of my favorite things about X-Men Evolution is that both Storm and Jean gave Mystique the BUSINESS 💥🤛🏾
Jean Grey is an asset for the X-Men.
She's more than an asset. She was a role model for the new recruits.
Both Xmen and DC have one thing in common their animated shows are better then most of their live action movies.
The phasing of the train probably would’ve worked if they were both moving lol
She starts the cartoon as very weak, could barely lift a chair, and would struggle lifting Scott and Kurt.
But her power levels increased throughout the show to a point she was easily lifting huge military helicopters.
The reason the show was called "Evolution" was because it was about growth. Character wise and power wise
90s Jean would have been like "These helicopters are too heavy!"
Evolution was really on it with the girls this time. Even had a whole Girl group where they were kicking ass. I wish they would continue this one too
Evolution Jean constantly shows off how bust her psionic powers are while 90s would die trying to read someone’s mind.
They’re popular opposites.
"would die trying to read someone’s mind. " ahahahahaaha
how can people say the 90's show is superior to evolution... i watched both growing up in the early 2000's and the 90's version ALREADY felt goofy and outdated to me at that time, and i was only a kid. i even tried rewatching it recently because of x-men '97 but i couldn't bare it, meanwhile x-men evolution still feels fresh and enjoyable. people are blinded by nostalgia...
I am a late 2000s child and I preferred Evolution because the 90s art was ghastly to me. I got used to it and I am currently liking it. I am at mid season 4.
The way she could've just opened that window normally 😂 girlboss
Anyone else wishes that she like this in the 90s cartoon raise your hand 😎✋
Evolutions version of the phoenix would of been amazing.
X-Men: Evolution did her justice fr. Wym she's always fainting 😂😂
Love the animation and the sound effects, they look dope af
The scene with the explosion was incredible 😮. Best depiction of telekinesis ever.
Jean from the 90’s: “I wasn’t strong enough, can’t hold it… uggahah”
Jean from Evo: “Hold my glass and my house sis, and I ain’t get the Phoenix yet”
Loved that she was voiced by Ranma girl type Venus Terzo.
Evo Jean can stop choppers, trains, explosions, even the Juggernaut when needed.
90's Jean trips on exposed wiring and rocks lol
This is seriously the best version of Jean Grey. She not a "super strong"damsel in distress all the time
This is just the best version which is sad because she’s a teen and in all the other versions she’s an adult
The Queen of Marvel❤️ the one and true Phoenix Jean Grey 👸
That's the Jean I've grew up. Sorry TAS Grey. ❤😂
If she hadnt slowed down the trains im almost certain kitty wouldve been able to just make them pass through each other
So this is Jean Grey's true potential
psychics are awesome. if they can't over power the opponent physically, they'd go for the mind. love the showcase of her telepathy
She didn’t even need the Phoenix force hahahaha
I want to see she being useful like this in the movies. Come on Fox!!!
You mean like what she did all the time? She single-handedly saved the X-Men from being buried underwater and atomized Apocalypse. I don't know why some people are in denial about all the good things presented in the movies, but it's pretty annoying.
@@schnaiderwissen8915she did it with the Phoenix, not on her own. The movies and 90’s versions of Jean are horrid compared to her in comics and here
Better than the 90's as men Jean Grey.
Jean : * Can't hold an explosion that's growing larger *
Me : Understandable.
Jean : * Unable to hold a man in her Telekinesis for more than 5 seconds *
Me : Bruh
90's cartoon Jean was nerfed so bad, she looked like she was a novice with her powers.
Will never understand why they did that, Jean in the 90's comics was a badass like Evolution Jean!
She's useless on Fox Kids, but useful on Kids WB 😢
This is why I like X men evolution so much more than the 90s version.
3:29 You know, I could really go for a few hours of this. Just Jean throwing Mystique around like a ragdoll. Seems kinda soothing, y'know? 😄
Jean was being way too nice here tbh... if I were her, I would be smacking Mystique back and forth between the floor and the ceiling repeatedly for trying to kill my man lmao
She's lucky there were no electrical cords near
Essa foi a melhor representação da Telecinese de Jean Grey... Prefiro que seja invisível.
I love the sound of her power.
If Glass Joe could easily beat the living crap out of 90's Jean, Evolution Jean could just as easily rip him in two with her mind, vertically and horizontally!
1:02 DAAAAMN SHE EVEN TUCKED HIM IN!!!!!
📠
Everybody’s talking about the train but what about 3:25 ? That was the coolest to me.
Also a big pay off to Scott and Jean becoming adults ad developing their relationships through most of the series
That remains my favourite Jean moment in the entirety of the Evolution cartoon. And that's saying something, considering how many awesome scene Jean gets, some not even included in this video.
jean in this show: meh that was nothing
jean in the animated series 92: instantly unconcious after using her powers.
I like to add in addition to the improvement on Gene's power set in X-Men evolution, can we all appreciate the costume was better in X-Men evolution ?
It definitely was an upgrade
Gene? Seriously? Like her name wasn’t mentioned at least 1947 times 😂
I miss this show wish they had continued a season 4 & beyond
Technically, Jean cannot fly. She is only using her telekenesis to appear as if she is flying, but really she's just floating.
Doobie Snoopie that's still flying.
kinda, but not really.
Mar She still flying
If it works like flying, it technically still is I guess... One good example of flying that's not flying is thor.. He can't fly.. He just travels around throwing the mjolnir.. Like a mini version of what mercenary tao in dragonball does
Flying: moving rapidly, especially through the air.
Jean can fly
My favorite animated version of Jean.
My only pet peeve of Evo Jean was that her psychic resonance was green. I would've liked it to be comic-book accurate and should have been pink.
This one...they have her eye color correct like the comic books...emerald green...but in XMEN the animated series, her eye color is blue...even in the new XMEN 97, her eye color is blue.
Also, they keep giving her blue psychic energy when her iconic energy signature is supposed to be pink
Adore this show.
“I'm going to phase this train through that one” …. 👀
X97 is learning from this video.
Aprendendo o quê? Kkk Essa jean era muito fraca, eles então aprendo dos quadrinhos lá sim ela era muito poderosa.❤
@@Luis-Castro-i Seems like you didn't watch the new series.
Entendeu agora?!
@@Luis-Castro-i Your english isn't the best, since you don't understand this, the point is, Jean Grey from X-Evolution was the best Jean on animation, she was really OP, therefore Jean X97 took lessons from her, since she is now powerful, unlike the OG series of 92.
That train and waterfall scene love that so much jean is the best a whole explosion 💥 mannn
I think Jean is a passive attacker she avoids too much casualties. She use more of defense as her offense. If she intentionally want to kill someone. She could easily crush them
That sound effect is really doing a lot of selling, otherwise it's just Jean Grey waving her arms around and things happen.
I mean, it's better than that dumb blue energy stuff that shot out of her head in the 90s show.
