Sorry for this late reply😅 but although it makes sense, Jean didn’t become the Dark Phoenix at the end of the movie. It does make sense though since in the comics Jean became the Dark Phoenix after defeating the main villain, but the film took a different approach and made her turn into the Dark Phoenix when she absorbed the Phoenix Force in space. The film made it like a direct consequence of absorbing the Phoenix, causing it to change her behavior and emotions. The reshoots probably are what made her become the dark Phoenix so quickly because I do know that the pacing overall development of jean’s transformation was altered because of them. Plus the captain marvel situation affected the films pacing. It was also because of having to fit such a major storyline in such a short time. I’m sure if they were given more time and didn’t face so many situations making the film then she would’ve became the dark Phoenix towards the end and they would continue the story with another film though🤷🏽‍♂️

This version of Jean is better than 90s animated series Jean becuz she never fainted every time using powers except at 7:00 like Famke Janssen's & Sophie Turner's Jean Grey only fainted once in the live-action X-men film series(The Last Stand & Dark Phoenix respectively) 0:43-0:56 this scene looks familiar to Dark Phoenix

if you ask me x men evolution is like the MOST accurate version of the mutants. except rogue. she super weak in this show lol. i love this version of jean because she can reveal my shine on her own and stop fainting every two seconds. her powers are out to use WITHOUT the phoenix as if she’s not one of the most powerful mutants out there

how can people say the 90's show is superior to evolution... i watched both growing up in the early 2000's and the 90's version ALREADY felt goofy and outdated to me at that time, and i was only a kid. i even tried rewatching it recently because of x-men '97 but i couldn't bare it, meanwhile x-men evolution still feels fresh and enjoyable. people are blinded by nostalgia...
