- This video is about Charles Napier who was the actor who was the second to do the voice of the Incredible Hulk on the 70's and 80's television series starring Lou Ferrigno and Bill Bixby as David Banner. Charles Napier took the place of Ted Cassidy who died during the first couple of seasons of the Incredible Hulk tv series.
Napier also appeared on a few episodes of the Hulk, usually as a bad guy, and appeared on a ton of classic TV shows and the second Rambo starring Sylvester Stallone as Rambo.

Napier was the voice of General Hardcastle on Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited.
I love how Napier's character, Bert, in the episode Triangle, comes running from the tent swinging a chain over his head with the intention of hurting the Hulk with it, only to have the Hulk take the chain, and send Napier flying back toward the tent. Apparently he hadn't had enough, because he also took on the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk Returns, and lost there, too.
Wild, I had always just assumed it was Ferigno's growls. Napier is one of those character actors that my generation grew up with. Sorry to find out he's passed on, but it was nice to hear that he continued to do his thing for so many years longer than I had originally thought.
@@ivane5110I thought Big Louie did the growls, too.
Your a man of much knowledge more great sharing my friend 😀
100% Facts
Thank you Pratman!😀
All the Hulk voices in the Hulk tv show
Ted Cassidy - 1977-1979
Charlie Buchanan - 1979 (some episodes)
Charles Napier - 1979-1990
Godamn, the hulk was hitting the gym hard between the series and tv movies. Good god.
Charles Napier also provided the voice of Duke Phillips on Jon Lovitz' The Critic, Duke was meant to be a caricature of Ted Turner.
I didn’t know he was the second guy doing the Hulk’s roare.
Charles was also in the Blues Brothers movie.
Yep, he's the one who threatened Jake, "You're gonna look pretty funny trying to eat corn on the cob with no f----n teeth!
We're the good ol boys
He was the driver of the Winnebago
Great and rare video on Mr. Napier. He lived outside my town in the mountains with his wife. He would frequently come into town for events. He hosted a special screening of The Blues Brothers at our historic theater and told stories of working with Belushi. I actually ran into him at my Home Depot. Despite the mean bad guys he played on T.V. and in movies, he was the nicest man in person. He LOVED talking with his fans. He was a painter too, and in 1996 he had a viewing of his artwork at a local art gallery. An article in the local paper mentioned it earlier in the week. I went down there, Blues Brothers poster rolled up in hand feeling kind of nervous. I didn't know if he'd be upset I was asking for an autograph at one of his art shows. I heard and recognized that booming deep voice coming from the back of the studio. Then he came out and I told him I was a huge fan and asked him to sign my poster. He was THRILLED! He signed it, "Charles Napier / Tucker McElroy (his character in the movie)" Nicest celebrity I've ever met.
That's awesome!
I remember Napier from the short-lived 1980s series “Outlaws”, about a group of 19th-century bandits who somehow find themselves transported to the 20th century, and become detectives. It also starred Rod Taylor and Richard “Shaft” Roundtree. Napier provided the opening narration.
Sounds cool!
Another one of those "hey it's that guy" actors.
I want to say this by the Incredible Hulk TV series. I had an idea. How to cure David Banner?
I always wanted to meet Bill Bixby and tell him about my idea. My idea was another great actor, michael landon Highway to heaven. Remember Jonathan was an angel. That would be a good combination, Bill Bixby and Michael Landon. On the TV show highway to heaven. Jonathan, he go by assignments.
David banner would be his Special assignment. By God
I just had to give this, otherwise good video, a thumbs down for leaving out Charles Napier best role...
"Tucker McElroy...lead singer and driver of the winnebago!"
Charles Napier was great
How could you leave out his amazing performance in The Blues Brothers?
Tucker McElroy...lead singer and driver of the winnebago!
Charles would've made the poster of this video look pretty funny eating corn on the cob with no fucking teeth for missing on his best character on film!
They could have tapped the foghorn throat of Joe Silver to provide the beastly growls of the Hulk as well. Also Peter Cullen could have done a great job. The best monster sounds I ever heard was from the Dark (1979)
Charles Napier was also Agent Zed in Men in Black: The Series in the late 1990's!!!
Well Odin and Hulk Multiverse In Silence In Lambs
You're only supposed to take pictures. under no circumstances are you to engage the enemy
Napier did provide the sounds in the following movies if you remember, they gave him a part in hulk returns.
Thanks much glad I discovered
He was also in the first blues brothers Movie. He played one if the mean cowboys who was angry with them as they took his bands place in the bar
He's played also Judge Garnett in "Streets of Philadelphia" movie, released in 1993.
Hello, I'm a new subscriber. I love the Incredible Hulk TV series. I have every episode of the TV series, plus all episodes of the animated TV cartoon, from the 80's, when then Bob Holt voiced the 8's cartoon.
Thanks for subscribing! I've got a lot of Hulk videos you may enjoy - ruclips.net/p/PLkGLSdvKpCiJ0jrIYeXJHGOzrVrq7nu9B
He was also in the Hannibal escaping scene in The Silence of the Lambs as one of the guards. RIP.
He was in the, blues brothers also.
Don't you say another word
Nether did I, but I know he did voice acting like that General who hates Superman and a prison warden in the Simpsons.
Content is great, but, your Narration is horrible...
He was actually in 3 A-Team episodes, one was season 2 'Labor Pains'
It would be interesting to see who would win a fistfight.
😛👍 this brings a lot of memories back to mudbutt. thanks for posting.
I used to remember his character's name from BJ & the Bear, but I can't recall it now. He was a recurring villain.
I always thought it was Lou Ferrigno making those Grump and yelling noises. The Hulk has never spoke in the TV show only grunt and yell not even Hulk smash. He speaks in the comic book and depending on what animation full conversation but still angry
Producer Kenneth Johnson didn't want the Hulk to speak.
I know he did voice acting the incredible hulk roar he was on every hulk show and movie did you look more on practical effects
I have seen a short video on it, and it looks like they had a robot they meant to put a Hulk skin over, and then they showed a plastic arm expand like a balloon to show the transformation. I bet it would have been pretty awesome! 😀
@@tvcrazyman it would been so great with that practical effect animatronic suit 😁 on the incredible hulk well if you look at more animatronic in movies that would be great
Big fan of this guy. He’s always great lol. Thanks for sharing
