I read somewhere that Lou Ferrigno also wore false teeth as the Hulk (not because he didn't have his own teeth, but to make the Hulk look more menacing). My Dad often watched the show. When Bill Bixby looked at the camera with his white eyes, Dad often said, "Uh-oh! The fat's in the fire now!"
Lou Ferrigno will forever remain my favourite Incredible Hulk and Mister Rogers will forever remain one of my favourite hosts for a children's television series. :)
Pretty neat to see this. Man, Lou was a handsome guy when he was a younger man. I always loved that Mr. Rogers would have those kinds of talks with his target audience about things that are real and fake. Stuff like this video is what makes young minds curious and open to the fact that these all cool things you can do for a living as an adult - whereas kids who are left to use their imagination unchecked could tend to be the kind of person that believes anything at times later in life. I wonder how many young children saw this at the time and thought that that they would love to do this for movies or tv shows. I wonder how many actually did it.
I was a young kid when the Incredible Hulk was on tv. That was my favorite show besides The Dukes of Hazzard. I had never seen this before though, a nice ride down Memory Lane. :-)
OMG, this is so rare!! 🤩 Never seen any footage before of Lou getting the Hulk makeup applied ... until now! 😎 LOL @ Mr. Rogers wearing the rubber forehead & nose! 😂
I remember seeing this Mister Rogers episode as a 5 year old kid way back in 1979 i thought both the Hulk and Mister Rogers together was the greatest show to see then and now to see it again over 45 years later this is way cool !
This was a great episode. I love how they show kids that when Lou Ferrigno takes off all his scary monster makeup he's not so scary at all. He's just a normal everyday person just like the rest of us.
And he was most likely homosexual which he admitted in an interview. He was a wonderful man and an inspiration to my younger gay self. God bless him for being a genuine human being.
@@houreugh I don't doubt that he may have been a homosexual, but I do seriously doubt he would admit this in an interview. If you have a link to this interview I'd like to see it.
@@JustWasted3HoursHere my apologies, he may have been “bi”. I guess it won’t let me leave a link in the comment. Keeps deleting it. But just search “Fred Rogers celebrated as ‘bisexual icon’ after his comments on sexual attraction resurface” that’s the title of the article.
@@houreugh With other people I would agree, but numerous people who have interviewed him (some very extensively) have said that he is exactly as he appears. No pretense at all.
As a small child when _The Incredible Hulk_ was so popular, I was absolutely terrified when Bill Bixby would transform into Lou Ferrigno. I was also a huge fan of Mister Rogers at the time and I had to have looked like the most betrayed four year-old imaginable when this episode aired. Fred Rogers explained that we'd be less frightened once we saw the process, but I was accepting no apologies or explanations and packed my bags for a permanent move to Sesame Street....until the day Margaret Hamilton appeared in her full Wicked Witch of the West drag.
Fred Rogers was a real class act all his own. He understood children far better than most men. RIP Mister Rogers. You're in a far better neighborhood now.
Lou makes me very tender! Like a big boy all Happy for a funny game and he lets himself be made up with a lot of patience! After, when he takes off facial prosthetics, he makes me laugh his sigh of relief and his winking and kindly smile! Really, I'm discovering so many things about this man Who I already love since when I was a little girl! And I think he loves Hulk, too!
D'accordissimo!
I distinctly remember watching this episode as a kid and wondering why Lou Ferigno's stomach looked like it was made out of Chiclets (had never seen ab muscles before).
I guess i never really thought about it. I assumed that certain actors were chosen for specific talents such as shape shifting or flying eccetra... It never really occurred to me that it could be fake

50 years later and this is the first time I've ever scene Lou being made up as the hulk. terrific.
Me too. 😂
And me@@rodneyadderton1077
Everybody needs some Hulk sometime.
Me too
Donc il ne se transformait pas vraiment ???? C'était un autre acteur maquillé ??? 😢😢😢
There is no greater Hulk than the OG himself! 💪💪
I respect that fully
Absolutely!!
@elbob17If they made a dolph Lundgren batman movie in the same universe as superman 78 would be great
Lou was happy to be the Hulk
Ya he is
He was the voice actor for the hulk in a lot of projects too, such as the 90s cartoon.
@@mansharker8 He voiced the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk movie
And many of us are happy that he was the incredible Hulk.
But, Hulk was not happy being Hulk.
Lou ferrigno is sure a good role model for us all. Humble and modest always.
It showed to me how nice guy he was. Tks Lou.
MR. ROGERS: "But I don't feel strong."
Oh, you're strong, Mr. Rogers. You're VERY strong.
Never expected a popular RUclips channel to comment on this.
Awesome to see D Wood a fan of some our childhood heroes

Mr. Rogers was strong enough to touch millions of kids lives. Thank you, Mr. Rogers.
Wonderful memories of being a kid watching the incredible hulk
Lou Ferrigno will forever remain my favourite Incredible Hulk and Mister Rogers will forever remain one of my favourite hosts for a children's television series. :)
Meu eterno incrível Hulk❤❤ grande ator Lour Ferrino❤❤
Lou was best at playing the hulk and no one could do better
As a little kid in the 70s I loved watching Mister Rogers. You could feel his kindness through the television screen.
same here
R.I.P. Fred Rogers!
I remember watching this when I was a kid. Loved the Incredible Hulk
This is terrific! Mister Rogers continues to educate

This was fantastic to see I never knew how much work was put into creating this character Lou did an amazing job as the Incredible Hulk
I would get up around 5 to 6am to watch the Hulk as a 3, 4yr old, Lou is still the best Hulk
This was great!! Great icons of television!!! Loved both shows/ movies

Lou looked incredible.
Love Mr R. Remember he did that special with the wicked with from wiz of oz n she was so nice. He really didn't want kids to be scared, bless him.

I saw this episode as a child. Loved the Incredible Hulk.
Well that it explains all lot of things finally the mystery is finally solved
Every time I see this it is still cool to watch
no cgi. just hard work & makeup.
That short statement totally explains the 5 years Lou put in on the TV series.
This was a great episode. I love how they show kids that when Lou Ferrigno takes off all his scary monster makeup he's not so scary at all. He's just a normal everyday person just like the rest of us.
Man, we need more people like Fred Rogers. A true Christian who actually lived by what he taught.

Lourival soares ❤❤😮😮😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉🎉
I think this helped a lot of kids cope with the fear they felt when watching the opening of The Hulk. We feared and loved it all at the same time😅
That's 100% true! It was my favorite show as a kid and at the same time gave me nightmares.
Lou should play King Maestro ❤

After all this time, still the best Hulk period
This is the most calm I ever seen hulk...
Beautiful my friend
A great guy
One of the best TV shows of my childhood. The only Hulk that matters
Lou is a true gentle giant, Mr Rogers was just a giant, with a giant heart
"I'll just take this home as a souvenir" good move.
Obviously he doesn't miss this anymore, anymore than he misses the hard contacts he had to wear.
Primeiro Hulk das telinhas 💯👊🏻
I think Lou Ferrigno stays on the inside van for 5 hours until the director calls for a scene. Amazing
The incredible hulk of Mr rogers neighborhood of Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk. Mr rogers neighborhood superheroes in the dvd.
This was one of the best special home movies that they did on Mr. Rogers.

Lou didn't need makeup... He already had HULK looks. Even his hair was very good...
THE INCREDIBLE MISTER ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD
I think the flute interlude really adds to the voiceover
How Lou becomes the hulk:
Enters Room: Is Hulk.
Oh we should probably make him green.
My step grandpa was the one that trained Lou Ferrigno. My step grandpa’s name is Robert Reis. Make sure to look up Robert Reis bodybuilder
Fantastic 😅
Good memories.
