Man, we need more people like Fred Rogers. A true Christian who actually lived by what he taught.
And he was most likely homosexual which he admitted in an interview. He was a wonderful man and an inspiration to my younger gay self. God bless him for being a genuine human being.

That was a children’s show, not reality TV of his life and times in the neighborhood.
@@houreugh With other people I would agree, but numerous people who have interviewed him (some very extensively) have said that he is exactly as he appears. No pretense at all.
I read somewhere that Lou Ferrigno also wore false teeth as the Hulk (not because he didn't have his own teeth, but to make the Hulk look more menacing). My Dad often watched the show. When Bill Bixby looked at the camera with his white eyes, Dad often said, "Uh-oh! The fat's in the fire now!"
I think this helped a lot of kids cope with the fear they felt when watching the opening of The Hulk. We feared and loved it all at the same time😅
I absolutely agree. Fred Rogers always wanted to make the scary not scary. A truly great man.

I was a young kid when the Incredible Hulk was on tv. That was my favorite show besides The Dukes of Hazzard. I had never seen this before though, a nice ride down Memory Lane. :-)
Pretty neat to see this. Man, Lou was a handsome guy when he was a younger man.
I always loved that Mr. Rogers would have those kinds of talks with his target audience about things that are real and fake. Stuff like this video is what makes young minds curious and open to the fact that these all cool things you can do for a living as an adult - whereas kids who are left to use their imagination unchecked could tend to be the kind of person that believes anything at times later in life. I wonder how many young children saw this at the time and thought that that they would love to do this for movies or tv shows. I wonder how many actually did it.

If I made the classic Incredible Hulk series (and other retro Marvel shows):
I would NOT cheaply cast any bodybuilding actor to play Hulk.
I would hire Ray Harryhausen to make a realistic stop-motion Hulk figurine (as well as ones of She-Hulk and the villains), use camera-tricks to make Hulk look eight-feet-tall and then have him go around rampaging an entire towering model of New York City like he's King Kong.
And then I would hire voice actors.

@@christopher.ALV.R3240 I think a lot of us want to see that. But there are a multitude of reasons why Lou will not play Hulk anymore:
1. Contractual: In a now deleted video, a behind the scenes of a Sam Macaroni sketch revealed that they tried getting Lou to reprise his role as The Hulk. However, it was stated in his contract that he not be painted green and/or wear purple pants. Not sure how true this is.
2. Age: Yes, he may be in great shape for his age. Let's face reality. He's past his prime, which is not an insult.
