Thanks and yes it’s just unfortunate that we need to experience something negative for the penny to drop. Every day we wake up fit and healthy is a reward and a reminder to get after it! 🤟🏻
I stopped smoking feb 2019 as covid was just coming about after smoking all through my teen years and 20s and short 13 week stint in basic training in 2009. stopping smoking its the best thing you'll ever do. I stopped with help from nicorette lozenges ,now I don't drink or smoke anymore. I'd say the first 6 weeks are hardest mate. I made the mistake of replacing the cravings with sweet stuff. I was 13 stone and now im up to 17 and can't find the motivation to exercise any more to loose the belly fat 👎🏻 you won't have that problem with your excerise routines etc. Keep safe and sending love to your family 🙏
Great to know you’ve also stopped and thanks for sharing your experiences with it all. Yea and as you said ref an exercise routine to manage the weight gain that can come with kicking a habit, especially one as strong as nicotine. I’ve found, just drinking more water and eating apples! Lol Apples are abit more technical if you focus on it while your eating it. All the way down to the core minus the seeds, does the trick for me. As by the time I’ve finished, my craving has left.
I hope your brother gets back up and lives a great long life mate! Good chance he’s got the fighter spirit in him that you do! You’ve over coke a lot yourself and I think your brother will be looking up to you as an example! Don’t want to look rude and change the subject but I’m looking for advise on the military. I keep thinking about joining up, late twenties and over weight (about 20-25Lbs.) And the older I’ve gotten the easier I cry over stuff even being told off or black mailed. My pain tolerance isn’t high either. I need to toughen up physically and mentally and I feel the military will make me a man. But my age and fitness levels will either make me fail or struggle. I donno what to do, I’m worried if I hold others bad and get punished or my squad and the peer pressure and bullying that could happen. Should I try? Should I try and get fit first?
Thanks for the comment, really appreciated. In regards to your question, sometimes you just have to dive in and go for it. Just by submitting your application (if thats what you really want) is the key driving factor to get you up training and making progression, as you've got your objective. Similar to what I said in my video last week ref running. I booked myself onto a trail marathon, I personally don't think i'm in the right place to get the time I want. By booking it, it's now made my goal (timebound) resulting in me now hard at training and not focusing on can or can't I achieve what I am after. This will be the same as you and your goal, Just get after it. If it doesn't work out first time, who cares. Just get after it again. Don't procrastinate on things mate, if it is something you want just get after it.
Life gos on mate, have to keep cracking at it. He pulled through a major heart operation and is now into a long recovery. Still in hospital but recovering. Thanks for asking appreciated mate 💪
@@Rangermedia From personal experience (HTx 7years), the amazing surgeons fix you, but it's the amazing Physiotherapists that bring you back to life. Parallels with your recent fitness focus.
Legend! Thanks mate. Yeah they weren’t providing me anything positive, just fake chemical reactions and dopamine hits. I’m also not becoming a preacher on here for everyone to be against it, we all have different paths.
Nothing to say but been there sitting around hospitals. As am in Larne. I would offer the car if you needed taken to hospital. And the year you was born i was 21 and a lcpl lol
Anyway even if you just need a pint of milk dropped in am not far from anyone. Well we had the nice SLR that worked then the SA80 that broke down and my magazine used to not want to stay in lol. Plus Northern Ireland was a complete different place. When I walked the streets I carried loaded. Then we had the 1St gulf War. That you and your mates seen the last of it. Anyway the car is free anytime. My dad used to drive half of the army around in late 70s early 80s 2para green jackets all spend time in our old house in Belfast
@@Rangermedia yeah I was curious about that. It all depends on ur boss man, I couldn’t even get 1 day off for my nans funeral. Ended up doing fk all that day anyway.
Fully understand mate and it’s down to leaders to get the leadership part right, in most circumstances it is. All the stuff I speak about on the channel is biased on my own experiences and specifically in my unit. I do understand there’s a lot of differences on how things are ran in other places, within the whole organisation.
@@kylewharton5447 yeah that’s exactly it. Take the good with the bad! There’s a magnitude of reasons for someone deciding to call it quits and if people find something else better for them then fair play. I think there will always be people wanting to get out and others who hang on that bit longer lol
Keep strong brother 🙏🏽
Speedy recovery, mate. Sending love and prayers to you and your family! 🍀

I’m really surprised how long your hair is on top, I didn’t think that would be allowed in the Army? 😂

Thanks for the offer of help really appreciated but I’m sorted in that aspect.
LCpl in the 80s would of been a different ball game to what it is now 😂

Health is wealth. Did ur coc give you compassionate leave. Or did they make you take ur own.
💯! Without it, we have nothing. Yes, compassionate leave. One of the great things in the Army. When it’s handled correctly.

@@Rangermedia gotta take the good with the bad. I do think a main reason there’s a massive spike in sign offs is leadership and not many deployments.
