Both of your videos on the Profitec GO and the accessories are exceptionally good. Easy for a beginner to understand and consider before a purchase of a GO. Thanks for your explanations.
Very nice videos!! My Pro should be in this week. I did get the Profitec bottomless portafilter with it. Going to stick with the stock tamper, shower screen and rubber gasket for the time being but will consider doing these small tinkers later.
Hi! Thank’s for the video! I’m a GO user and i bought the official Profitec GO Bottomless portafilter and the VST Filter mentioned on your video doesn’t fit correctly in the Profitec Go bottomless oficial portafilter. All improvements (except for the problem I had) work perfectly!!! Thank you very much for the video!!! ❤
I didn't try the Profitec Go branded bottomless portafilter, I've used the ECM angled bottomless portafilter with the VST basket, and it was working perfect.
I have a question on the Go’s operation-if you were to pull a shot with the steam wand open as well, would the pressure on the puck go down? Could you simulate a lower pressure pre-infusion like that?
From what I heard it will do, most espresso machine will do, but it is very counterintuitive, and since we never extract any light roast, we don't play with pre-infusion that much.
Hesitating between this and the Quickmill Silvano, I really like the Profitec Go design and tray clearance but I may want to make 3-4 milk drinks per week so the instant steam of the Silvano may be a better investment. Thanks for the demo and accessories round-up !
@@TheGizmoGarage Oh I didn't even think about this aspect, it's a bigger tank (2.8L) compared to the Silvano (2L) so this point seems to be a win for the profitec
@@frankcosette3046 went for the silvano, loving it. There's a small issue with the steam though, by default it's weak, but if you empty some steam and let it reheat for a few seconds it's strong as it should, kind of like an hysteresis. Love the machine anyway
You mentioned the pressure at 10 bars during your shot which corresponds to 8 bars out of the portafilter. How can you be shure about the difference of 2 bars ?
There was a video from Whole Latte Love where they set the machine to 10 bars and then used a portafilter with sensors to measure the pressure. They measured 9 bars
These are great updates. I heard pretty much only praise from this machine and this makes me think: did profitec not use their product? The absence of a bottomless portafilter is just mind boggling to me.
Could you film without the portafilter the release of water from the group with the new IMS Shower Screen? And if possible a comparison with the stock shower screen? Thanks
The water release from the IMS shower screen looks pretty inconsistent, nothing like what some other video shows with perfect water distribution with nothing attached, so is the stock shower screen, if that's what you want to know. But this screen makes clean up so much easier.
Wich Updates would you consider as necessary or really useable? I think the silicone rubber and bottomless filter might be nice. How about the showerscreen, the tamper and the VSTs? Tank you for your response :)
A good tamper that feels good in your hand, silicon rubber are the absolute must. Shower screen does make cleanup slightly easier. VST I don't see any significant performance difference as compared to the original, which is already excellently punched.
Hello, I have a question concerning the installation if the shower screen. The IMS screen is shaped with a light dome. Do you tighten the screw until the screen is „flat“ or do you let it maintain the dome shape?
Why did you choose the IMT CI200IM screen rather than the E61200NT? Just curious if it's due to the original screen aesthetic rather than specific to the E61. Great vids and appreciate all of your effort!!!
E61200NT is designed for E61 group and doesn’t have the center hole for securing it to this group head which is similar size as E61 but not same design
Hi, thank you for a great video. Recently when I have been using my Profitec GO (only 2 months old) with a bottomless portafilter, water has started gushing out the front, making the espresso undrinkable. I’m confident this is not a puck prep issue and there is something faulty. What do you think would be causing this?
@@sammathie9929 I've had the same issue with my Profitec Go when I first bought it. I contacted the place where I bought it (Whole Latte Love) and they sent me a replacement silicon o-ring that sits between the shower plate and the group head that was crushed flat causing leaking from one spot. The new silicon o-ring fixed the leaking issue, I suspect yours is probably also having a deformed shower plate o-ring. 1. Never rotate the tamper while tamping (to avoid channeling) 2. Avoid leaving the portafilter in place for a long time before brewing the espresso because the brew group is hot and the heat can burn the coffee.
The included tamper is very thin and kind of hard to put even pressure down, so we prefer our original tamper we got on Amazon for under $20, it's thicker
When you have the double spouted portafilter installed, does the Profitec Go have more space for a cup than the Gaggia Classic pro? Can you give measurements from spout to drip tray?
Hey! Just wondering how you were able to confirm that this is the right shower screen to use - it's hard to find info since the model is so new. Thanks!
@@TheGizmoGarage Thanks! Do you think the upgrade is worth it? Definitely doing the silicone gasket, but seems like there's generally negative sentiment on the IMS screen on the ECM Casa V.

It definitely is.. like there is even analysis showing that consistency js alot higher even with high end grinders. It distributes very evenly and if you take a look at the puck I never had any defects at all since I use it
Hi, i did same mods on mine, but the installation of the shower screen and diffuser was frustrating and a total headache. My diffuser will not sit flat on brew group because of the gasket. Was saving for the Breville Dual Boiler but the prices are crazy. The Profitech Go seem like a really cool machine. How does it goes after a couple of months?
If it's me, I'll probably go Dual Boiler next round. Otherwise, it's performance is really comparable to other high-end single boiler machines. Build like a tank
I dont have the profitec go but do have the breville dual boiler, not overly happy with it the seals in the temp probes and hose connections to the boilers apparently last 2 years, they held in by spring clips that are hard to get in the UK and , to make matters worse come in two sizes of which retailers if they stock any size seem to only stock the smaller size and these clips are WAY to easy to lose. Replacing seals should be easy but seals claiming to be for the dual boiler were to thick and the spring clip went boing trying to get the bloody thing in. if the seals go, steam gets into the innards, oxidises the metals, gets into the electronics, causes fuse trips etc. For 1.2k appliance, 2 years and lack of ability to get spare parts is not something i can recommend. Parts might be easier to get where you are mind you.
