Local keyword research is the first and arguably the most crucial step of local SEO. 88% of people who do a local search on their smartphone usually visit a related store within a week.
With this step-by-step tutorial, your local business can rank for the right keywords and drive targeted local traffic to your website, which will send you more customers.
As a first step, jot down a list of all services you offer. Don't skip this brainstorming stage because you'll want to ensure that your website is discoverable for all your services.

The second step is to check for local intent.
Local intent refers to queries where Google assumes the user is looking for a local result. The easiest way to understand local intent is to check SERPs for map packs and local organic listings.

Most keyword research tools provide country-specific data, so it may be difficult to find local search volumes. While Google Keyword Planner can provide city-specific volumes, you'll often see broad search volume ranges, which aren't helpful for local keyword research.

Also, I’m not sure what is meant by using search volume to prioritise creating and ranking these pages. Could you give an example?
Finally, after we have our full list of services, what about other versions of keywords that map to the same service? Do we ignore these when writing our content?For example “plumber” vs “plumbing service”

The question is irrelevant to this post but relevant to SEO.
Once i read about topic clusters on ur blog or utube,
we write a detailed content and add some subtopics in this content, then discuss those sub topics in a separate blog post. And inter link to each other by internal link.
I want to ask should we try to rank those subtopic's KW on those separate blog post, or should we try to rank those suptopic's KWs on that detailed content???
For more clarification:
If i want to get a guest post, then using the suptopic's KW as an anchor, which page link should i use behind that anchor?
A detailed content page link
Or
The page on which only that Kws is discussed in separately??
It's hard to answer without seeng the content. But in general, you want to use the link of the content that you wish to rank in guest posts.
