That episode really sealed the deal cuz I see myself as a pretty tough who don't get too emotional, and let me tell ya, I had to make myself some cookies and a warm glass of milk just to fall asleep that night.

Hi, a couple years later I came back to this just to say: Made In Abyss is still the best anime I've seen since this video. Amazing music, amazing animation on pair with Studio Ghibli, amazing story and the single saddest moment I've ever experienced watching Anime... A fucking masterpiece.
I remember talking *mad* trash about the state of anime with a friend, since we both felt the medium was getting a bit stale lately. Seconds later, we decided to watch Made in Abyss and just sat there a few minutes. You should've seen our faces, we were like "Where the fuck did THIS come from?"

It returned my love for anime. And what got me into it in the first place, Ghibli movies. It’s as if the God, Hayao Miyazaki himself, has blessed this anime. The visuals, soundtrack and world are just, everything. In my opinion, if the show had finished before the end of 2017 it would be top, for sure! (^_^)

At this point I do wonder why Re:Creators wasn't in more categories, at least for best anime of the year. Not that it's necessarily the best, but at least it would've put a decent fight against any of the other six in that category.
Re:Creators was fun, but the story's execution absolutely pissed me off. Stayed for the action scenes and some of the characters, but the last episodes were unwatchable, imo. It falls into the SAO category for me: fun to watch, but infuriating to follow. The meta elements were nice, but not nice enough for me to genuinely enjoy the story and not just the message.

I genuinely just saw a poster of it on the internet, read quick description on some site, that didn't give any clues about the turns this show is gonna take after episode 10 and i started watching it without any idea as of what awaits me. So i dunno about other people, but if we take me for an example, everyone who watched made in abyss without getting any spoilers before, surely got surprised.
Vassal Of The Night, Same. I dismissed it when it was first released (or announced, or w/e), because I have no interest in anything loli related. Until a friend of mine told me to shut up and just watch the damn Anime, so I did, and couldn't be more grateful I didn't miss in my opinion, the best title of the year, by far. I couldn't recall any Anime, tv series (and yes including GoT's Red Wedding or Breaking Bad), novels nor movies that gave me such an emotional impact as the later episodes of Made in Abyss. Nanachi's storyline (mini-arc) was one of the most disturbing but very well made episodes on an Anime I've seen.
Agreed. Hell, I would definitely put it in my top 5 anime of the year. Probably not better then made in abyss. But really really good. It's funny how a show about embracing hopelessness is so fun and relaxing to watch. When made in abyss, a show about hope and pushing forward is so dark, and difficult to watch (in a good way).
Made in Abyss gets my vote straight through. I haven't been swept away in a story like that in a long while, and that brilliant OST does so much work as well. It's nabbed a place on my favourites.

Just_Some_Random_Tryhard_Gamer darling in the franxx is literally just uncomfortably sexual gurren Lagann with a dash of Pacific rim. So far the fact that it is Trigger is the only reason I’m gonna stay with it because even if it turns out to be utter shit it’s still going to look fucking amazing.

made in abyss is one of my all time favorite anime. That is greatly inpart to the beautiful soundtrack and well put together characters and story(but mainly the sound track and concept). It was amazing and it needs much more recognition than it has gotten even if it is a lot.
Rapknife It picked up popularity after episode 10, but before that almost no one talked about it. And the sales were pretty bad considering the quality of the anime.
JTV I'm disappointed too, it sounds similar to the Cowboy Bebop ost which I feel it wasn't nominated because it didn't sound "anime" enough. It sucks the show didn't get the attention it deserves.

Re:Creators was fun, but the story's execution absolutely pissed me off. Stayed for the action scenes and some of the characters, but the last episodes were unwatchable, imo. It falls into the SAO category for me: fun to watch, but infuriating to follow. The meta elements were nice, but not nice enough for me to genuinely enjoy the story and not just the message.
I also enjoyed Re:Creators. They aren't alone.

I genuinely just saw a poster of it on the internet, read quick description on some site, that didn't give any clues about the turns this show is gonna take after episode 10 and i started watching it without any idea as of what awaits me. So i dunno about other people, but if we take me for an example, everyone who watched made in abyss without getting any spoilers before, surely got surprised.
Vassal Of The Night, Same. I dismissed it when it was first released (or announced, or w/e), because I have no interest in anything loli related. Until a friend of mine told me to shut up and just watch the damn Anime, so I did, and couldn't be more grateful I didn't miss in my opinion, the best title of the year, by far. I couldn't recall any Anime, tv series (and yes including GoT's Red Wedding or Breaking Bad), novels nor movies that gave me such an emotional impact as the later episodes of Made in Abyss. Nanachi's storyline (mini-arc) was one of the most disturbing but very well made episodes on an Anime I've seen.
Yeah, nanachi's story made me hate the whole anime, for how cruel it was.

made in abyss is one of my all time favorite anime. That is greatly inpart to the beautiful soundtrack and well put together characters and story(but mainly the sound track and concept). It was amazing and it needs much more recognition than it has gotten even if it is a lot.
