I'm in apartment maintenance and I've got that impact and drill that came in the kit. Honestly one of the best drills I've used.

I used that exact driver for 4 years in commercial/industrial hvac. Perfectly good tool. I switched to fuel simply because I wanted to and saw a good deal on it. But it’s a perfectly good solid driver

Bought this on sale paired with Milwaukee’s entry level drill/driver. Used them all summer building fences. Absolutely love them, considering the two drills and two m18 2.0 batteries cost me 200 Canadian! While my colleagues scoffed at my purchase for them not being brushless or ____brand, I had absolutely no problems with them!

Nice! I agree, if it works, use it! It doesn't have to be the latest shiny new thing, or a certain name.

I'm an Electrician apprentice and love my non-fuel Milwaukee tools. They work very well for me on construction sites and in residential sites!
I bought the box set with the drill, driver, circular saw, hackzall, oscillating tool, angle grinder, and work light. Had them for over a year and a half

don't buy into the "this is an entry-level" kinda sales pitch, I've been in the electrical construction industry since 2015, and I used one of these till now, and I bought the whole m18 set second-hand, so the actual age is probably longer, my opinion is that if you are going to work in a place with gas where sparking is a problem, go buy brushless, but as a professional electrician, this shit handled absolutely Everything! can't say for other trades, but for the young sparkies out there, if you see these on the cheap, get it.

A used Gen 1 M18 fuel impact driver can make you pretty happy too not just a skinny new Gen 4 M18 fuel or Gen 3 M12 fuel.

My dad just bought me a second hand one for a cheap price, using it for electrical work. From seeing the pictures I was unhappy at first but after messing around with it, I can see that it is a very good tool.

As a DIYer I went with the M12 gen 3 fuel drill and impact driver back in 2022 since I like brushless motor technology and wanted commercial grade tools. It is more powerful than the M18 brushed but a little slower than the gen 3 M18 fuel. I got all the electrical rough in holes done with a spaddle bit after gutting and rewiring my friend’s house on 1 fully charged XC4.0 and half of an XC3.0. Pretty impressive. I might eventually get the M18 fuel drill and impact driver kit for the bigger stuff and so that a helper can have access to an impact driver and drill if he or she does not have one on hand or has an inferior tool.

I was doing a little research, and I found out that the newer models have collett problems. I prefer the older collet, it may take a little longer, but a few seconds putting in the bit is worth it versus wasting 30 mins trying to get the bit out...

I have this exact model, I’m not a tradesman or anything just a homeowner that occasionally comes across the need to screw/unscrew things, probably more often than the average Joe suburbia but much less often than someone who uses tools regularly at a job, etc. I got it in a combo kit probably 5-6 years ago, along with a number 2606-20 drill and a charger. Between those two tools I’ve never encountered a situation that one or the other couldn’t handle, the impact driver works amazingly!

I would tell anyone to only buy these older models if you got some really good deal. Newer ones are smaller, lighter and more powerful. Definitely worth it to me.

There’s really no problem with the olds ones. Tbh they still work very well to this day. And can definitely keep up with the new ones maybe not as powerful but still definitely reliable and useful.

I’ve had this impact for 5 years now and I have abused it around the house, I have remodeled my basement, redone 3 bathrooms, built a garage and put up 300 feet of fence not to mention tires change overs every year and this little guy keeps going, I purchased it in the combo kit with the drill for $200 cdn and think I scored. I wouldn’t hesitate buying it again.

80 ft lbs no problem but higher than that use a breaker bar to untighten it then use it to unscrew quicker.
