Diva was such an amazing film. I am surprised it isn't more loved. French cinema is my favorite of all world cinema and it was circa 1982 that I started paying attention to their films.

I remember getting stoned all by myself one night and watched Fantasia. It changed my life.

This episode is unusual in that Kirlean Witness is a film that was made in 1978, Circle of Deceit and Diva are 1981. The reissue of Fantasia with the replaced soundtrack was 1982.

While I don’t think entertainment like Fantasia sends kids on an immediate journey of discovery into classical music, I do think it sows the seeds for later interest. Exposure to classical music for many in my generation started with Bugs Bunny cartoons, Sesame Street, and other children’s entertainment. After that it was orchestral music used in movie soundtracks like Star Wars and Superman. So as an adult it wasn’t a big step to get into classical music and modern orchestral music, which I grew to love and appreciate and still do to this day. And while I appreciate it as an adult, part of my enjoyment is in the nostalgia for Fantasia, What’s Opera Doc, and Darth Vader’s Imperial March.

"Dollars" also has a good chase in it.

The Kirlean Witness sounds like something to check out because of its odd nature. It might be kind of fun.

Beethoven's 6th is not Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn. That's Debussy.

I don't think I'm cultured enough to deal with the Opera singing and then the dirt bike engine in Diva. Both of the clips for the film in this segment were like fingernails on a chalkboard for me.
