This is a marvelous episode of “Siskel & Ebert” where they cover their favorite scenes in movie history.
All selections are interesting even if you don’t agree with what they chose.
As an extra treat, you get a sense of the occasional disdain they had (especially Ebert in this example) for one another.
(Still, I’d argue they agreed much more often during their professional relationship.)
It’s episodes like this which advanced my passion for films of all kinds.

I absolutely love that cut scene in 2001 from the bone to the satellite. Showing a huge jump in time for millions of years, and then following it with 'The Blue Danube'. Kubrick was a genius.

Why were they arguing so much in this? You’d think they’d be having fun with this one lol

Haha they just can’t help themselves. Usually it’s Gene poking the bear but this time it was Roger who had the problems.

9:34 - "Dr Strangelove" is a hilarious satire and that scene is great!

For drama scenes, I would have picked the climax of "Barry Lyndon". Now *that* is drama.
For action scene, I would have picked the train sequence of Spider-Man 2.
For musical scene, I would have picked the exact same scene that Gene picked
