I know the Power Sliding Door is communicating fine as it works for the most part and there are no other DTCs to suggest their are communication problems with the module. Not sure what to do really!
Very informative video, thank you very much! Please consider improving video quality to 4k. For filming handheld consider a gimbal. Good choice for a videoblogers is Sony a6400 - it is reasonably compact, does 4K, got an external mic input and a flip-screen. Can this run tests on fuel injectors a specific bank? I’m getting a p0174 code on my old 2002 Expedition I’m fixing up, and before I get into throwing parts at it, I want to test out the injectors on that side, followed by the fuel pump pressure. Can this bidirectional scanner perform such tests? Thanks!
If the oem scanner can do fuel injector cut out then I imagine this will. Not sure what kinda test you think can be done with a scanner vs fuel injectors. We usually pull the rail and see if any injectors drip when pressurized. Sometimes the issue can be both sides but the other bank had just yet to throw a code so it’s important to watch the fuel trim data.
I was trying to process money on just answer but did not go through so I can talk to you, I check my CAN and discover that it is fluctuating from 60 down to 51ohms and if I change the probe it moves from 60 to 71ohms I discover there is with water in the gateway

Can I use this for programming a new key or reprogramming an old one that lost connection? Can I also use this for changing the odometer? I have a Fiat that I changed the instrument cluster in and now it shows almost the double amount of miles..

Hi, I'm looking for a Scan Tool that can work on Porsche. I can't find any information which show that the A30M can reset the Oil Service in a Porsche Macan. Did you know if this system can reset the Oil service in a Porsche Macan?
I bought one of these, the LED light does not work, I have not plugged it in to the ALDL yet, does this have to be charged before the light will work, I see no charging port/cable, any advice?
Correct there is no charging port which means it would have to be charged through the diagnostic connector. All diagnostic connectors have a battery power and a battery ground. So plug in your tester and give it a good 10 to 15 minutes and then remove it and see if it works
Please update if it works or not. But my thinking is it would have to be charged through the diagnostic connector. Assuming it has to have a rechargeable battery inside.

Based on reading Amazon Q&As here's what I found: A30D comes with 11 special functions, and A30M comes with 21 special functions. A30 Pro just has 16 Special Functions. So the A30M seems like the most capable unit.
I just wonder about the speed of the A30M on your ipad. is it fast when scan code or take 15 to 30 minute to scan all the module? can you cancel it in middle of scan code if it take too long? did you try on the Android version?
Im doing a speed test video between the scanners I have. I have only done it on the ipad. For mercedes it took about 10 min. For dodge about 5 min. All depends on how many modules a car is capable of.
Looks like a great tool! But I didn't see you input any values. What about calibrating ride height in the suspension pages? Will it allow that or is that only on the higher end stuff?
@@MasterTechLou Stuck the A30m on the bentley.. Said I have a leak. NFS! I didn't see any values that were off the wall or missing. Hi can it be used on more than one device or would you need multiple licenses?
Multiple devices. But only 1 at one time as it’s bluetooth. I used it on my ipad then iphone with no issues.
Do I need wifi to scan my car with this scanner?
negative
Do you know if this will display the PID of live data being displayed? eg if looking at the transmission temperature can you see the PID to be able to import it to a digital gauge like Torque or ScanGauge?
Hmm thats out of my realm of experience, after a quick google my gut tells me no. But I could be wrong.
Hi Lou... I'm in the UK.. And wanted to know as I've changed my abs pump and need to reset the warning lights fault abs /steering angle light ... Can this vin the part into the ECU many thanks Tony
Ps I have a 2008 BMW e92 320i m sport coupe
Hello, no this does not have programming or coding capabilities. For that I believe you would need someone with an autel elite or ultra.
Thanks man I just ment of you brought say a starting motor or replaced can this tell the car is been changed and reset many thanks Lou... Havea good day man
@@tonto7752 oh ok, gotcha. This is better than a code reader, but not as good as a high end scanner. So best I can say is, buy it from someone that allows returns. Try It for a few days and return it if you don’t like it .

Great video and nice car show!!! But how does it graph?? Or does it? Can it turn on and off relays?
It does graph, it is bidirectional. And thanks!

ah yes but how about the day to day stuff like Mode6, monitors resdiness etc?
i'm interested in this one but does anyone know on wich bargain tablet it will run? because if need a fancy arse 800 bucks tablet i would rather get a scan tool from that price
you dont need a tablet, it works on smartphones. the app is called anyscan.
I have galaxy tab a8 it runs fine on. A better tablet it will run faster though it works fine. I mostly use my phone because its smaller and faster galaxy s23 ultra and galaxy s20 works fast as well.
Another one you can check that's like the Autel mk808 is the Xtool d7 (or d8), and the icarsoft CR Max.. This seems to compare to those, except it just doesn't come with the pad-- and may have just a few less functions.
Thanks, yeah I think autel is sharing their software. They have to be.
Hi, a30m odometer adjustment is available?
I don’t think so no.
@@MasterTechLou thank you so much
@@cagataydagdelen I will check at the shop tomorrow, but i dont think it can. Unless there is an option in the factory scanner to set odometer, like in mercedes when we replace clusters, we can set the mileage forward 1 time, thats it, we cannot go back or change the value, so I will check but I only have a dodge and mercedes at the shop. SO I will report back.

@@MasterTechLou My friend bought a used car, it's a vehicle with a mileage, Of course, he realized long after he bought it, he wants to bring it to his old mileage. But this requires a device. That's why we're asking.
How does it compare to the thinkdiag
Seems to be comparable.
I have yet to use a thinkdiag myself.
Hi Lou.
Can you tel me please if you can see the real miles of your vehicle with this OBD?
I have a Honda CRV 2007 petrol automatic.
Thank you.
yes it should show the real miles in whatever module keeps track of the miles,. but if you have only the cluster that reads miles and it was replaced then there is no other module that stores that data, I am unsure in honda which module(s) store mileage.
My ? is for example if iam driving down the road an the check eng light come on an I stop to check it would it work or I have to be close to the internet I do have blue tooth
It works via Bluetooth like any other Bluetooth item. Open the app and use it to scan the car. Not sure your concern but theres no concern to be had simply pull over and plug it in and scan the car through the app.
Can the scanner see if the milage was changed previously?
@@alexk2822 no, I don’t think any scanners have the ability 🤷🏼♂️
Very good master
What are the other bidirectional tools that doesn’t require subscription updates? Any recommendations?

Ofix d1 lite (full blown Autel inside)
big lou, how does it compare to the autel mx808 bidirectional (entry level) scanner?
As for comparison im not sure, I can say I really am impressed with this A30m. Xtool has some good stuff. I have a D7 Im working on reviewing and explaining.
Sometimes the issue can be both sides but the other bank had just yet to throw a code so it’s important to watch the fuel trim data.
when did you do the pairing
I was trying to process money on just answer but did not go through so I can talk to you, I check my CAN and discover that it is fluctuating from 60 down to 51ohms and if I change the probe it moves from 60 to 71ohms I discover there is with water in the gateway
hello, not sure why you are ohming the can, that is not something we do in the mercedes. at least not what I do. if you have water in the gateway sounds like you also will have water in the front left fuse box.
@@MasterTechLou Just to know what is faulty in the vehicle I have follow an instruction you gave to one of your customer that happened to be a friend and try to read the ECM and check all the voltage but seem to be correct except the CAN that is having 2.5 for green and white green but the rest is 2.1 and 1.7 that was what led me to be checking all the CAN for water
Hey Lou. what about. If i need to replace a say gearbox Tcu box and need to link the need Tcu to Ecu. will it be able to do it
I was about to pay 1k on a fancy ipad one but this is way better and its only 300. Life saver
Can I use this for programming a new key or reprogramming an old one that lost connection?
Can I also use this for changing the odometer? I have a Fiat that I changed the instrument cluster in and now it shows almost the double amount of miles..
No for the programming. And maybe for the odometer. I did see an option in some models I used it on.

Hi, I'm looking for a Scan Tool that can work on Porsche. I can't find any information which show that the A30M can reset the Oil Service in a Porsche Macan. Did you know if this system can reset the Oil service in a Porsche Macan?
Hello, I do not have that answer I have yet to use this on a porsche but I do know the icarsoft can. The v3.0 and v2.0

Wonderful review. Thanks.
Can you also kindly shed some light on difference between A30M, A30D and A30 Pro?
Based on reading Amazon Q&As here's what I found: A30D comes with 11 special functions, and A30M comes with 21 special functions. A30 Pro just has 16 Special Functions.
So the A30M seems like the most capable unit.
Will the A30m allow 4x4 TCM relearn? It would be on a 08 Duramax 2500
I fully believe it will
I just wonder about the speed of the A30M on your ipad. is it fast when scan code or take 15 to 30 minute to scan all the module? can you cancel it in middle of scan code if it take too long? did you try on the Android version?
Im doing a speed test video between the scanners I have.
I have only done it on the ipad.
For mercedes it took about 10 min. For dodge about 5 min. All depends on how many modules a car is capable of.
Looks like a great tool! But I didn't see you input any values. What about calibrating ride height in the suspension pages? Will it allow that or is that only on the higher end stuff?
I actually used it to calibrate a Mercedes SL.
