    Skip the linear. Roger that.
    I wonder if 3 progressives with skateboard bushings is better again?

    Remove the damper for improved feel.
    Assuming its the same as mine, its just a gas spring with little to no damping anyway.
    I use the sams simjack pro pedals with Heusinkvelt sprint elastomers, its not a straight swap and requires 3D printed parts and replacing the shaft the elastomers sit on.

      This. I removed all my dampers to see how it was. I put them back on except for the brake pedal. A vast improvement

    What about the harder elastomer rings that come included with the pedals? Or are they only a recent change to the package?

      @scanx6163 9 месяцев назад +1

      I think it's a recent package. They are sold only with the new revision of simjack pro pedals.

      Yeah mine came with 80Ha rubbers. Got them 2 weeks ago.

    I can clearly see that the play in the bearings on your pedals has increased significantly.
    Have you considered one of the mods popping up everywhere to swap out the bronze bushings for ball bearings?
    My pedals were significantly more stable than yours at the beginning, but that got worse after a few weeks of use.
    I have already converted the brake pedal and it is now absolutely stable (actually free of play).

      I do fancy introducing the ball bearing mod at some point for the pedals.

    Great video, the ideas are aplicable to these or other pedals. 10/10

    Could you not swap out all the elastomers for springs instead? You could use different spring rates at each stage, or even progressive springs.

    what skateboard bushings do you use? and also, how about mixing the linear and progressive 3drap together, like they do in the Hybrid set they sell (they claim its the best for all types of driving)

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  9 месяцев назад +1

      Skateboard bushings, are kind of the same (size, firmness), whatever cheap brand you buy.
      I think I made my point about the linear elastomers, they are kind of pointless; being that they prove to be similar to the metal spring, which is all kinds of terrible.

    how do theses compare to the rse kit?

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  9 месяцев назад +1

      They both produce a good end result. You could see the extra effort I went through to make these fit.
      So the RSE is the better complete kit, without the extra hassle.

    Moral of the story, use some skateboard bushings (dare I say more than you need). Otherwise the 3Draps are rubbish on their own. In fact I think its far better if 3Drap make their own skateboard bushings.

    Stop showing me more mods for these pedals. I've almost doubled the price in upgrades 😁

    I can't help but noticing how much the pedal moves from side to side when you touch it during the first minute of the video.

      Yeah, pedals that run brass bushings like these, have some lateral play, or wear down to build play over time. It's not obvious when using the pedals, so it's not terrible. There's a bearing mod I mean to try out at some point that should improve this.

      @@SimRacingCorner I've been using my polnish Girro Sim XR Pro for over a year now and though being built following the same principles, the brass bushings are still standing strong. I'm not saying the Simjacks are bad, it's just the difference in the lateral movement that caught my eye.
      On the other hand: My pedals cost about 200€ more, so they better be more solid. 😄

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  9 месяцев назад +1

      To be fair, the Sim Jacks, did arrive with a bit of play to begin with. My Heusinkveld Pro pedals, which are about 7 years old now. They have brass bushings, and the throttle and brake are getting loose. The clutch, which is used less, is still tight. Bushings are replaceable components, which is good, but certainly they eventually take on wear and tear.

    It would be interesting to see whether replacing all elastomers by hard springs makes it even better. Elastomers give way after the initial pressure, which makes the load cell readings drop without a change in force applied on the pedal, as shown on this video from Race Beyond Matter ruclips.net/video/ovcI4gqoeO0/видео.html

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  9 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah, it is a thing, though personally I've never noticed this to be an issue for me. I'm busy for quite a few weeks on reviews. But I'll investigate this at some point, springs vs. elastomers would be an interesting one.

      Of all the setups ive tried on mine the coyote 5.0 boss 302 valve spring with a fair amount of preload with some skateboard bushings has been the best when it comes to consistency and having a progressive feeling pedal for me.
      I think it starts out at a 35lb rate and midtravel its 140-160lb rate. Without preload it feels sloppy like the stock spring and is hard to modulate.
      Ive recently ordered the rce springs and other rubber bushings or elastomers if you want to church it up to try out to see if i can find a setup i like more but i also like a long travel to maximize my modulation with my motor control

    Wouldn’t it just be wiser to get a good set of pedals like the heusinkveld sprint and not mess around with this BS shit. It’s gonna end up costing you the same price anyways.

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  9 месяцев назад +2

      The Sprints are more than 3x the price of the SimJack pedals, so it kind of is worth the BS really. It is a big saving when factoring in a simple and cheap mod to get that brake zeroed.
