Week Ahead - Two storms to hit 14/02/22

A turbulent week of weather is expected as two storms hit the UK, fired up by an energetic jet stream. Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern has the forecast for the upcoming week.

My boiler broke 6 days ago, no central heating or hot water, so glad if the snow doesn’t come. Already freezing in my house.

I’m also disabled. Have made do with a hot water bottle and blankets. Was loaned an electric heater which eats electricity and will cost a fortune to run for more than a few minutes. Haven’t had a bath or washed my hair in a week. Landlord says a part to fix it is on order, but no idea when it will arrive. Life in modern Britain.

@Jack Snow I’ve just boiled kettles, pulled down the kitchen blind so as not to horrify passers by, filled the kitchen sink and given myself a sponge bath and hair wash.

It’s the calm before the Storm 😂 as Dr. Brewer in 1848 said. In wet weather, if the mercury rises suddenly very high, fine weather will not last long.
