@@MikeFede - Just like you, I've always liked brakes and cassettes but I've always wondered about entry level free coasters.... IDK how well I'd adapt but it would still be nice to have one to try out every now and then.
The mission cease brake kit came with my kink could complete. The cable housing fell apart and the pads suck hard. Upgraded to and odyssey cable and lever, and clear pads and they work great now.
Wow ig this is its failure point then. My brake cable on the Mission cease brakes completely came out and broke so I have on order a brand new kink one piece ajustable brake cable to fix all the issues. The brakes themselves are really good. Just requires the right pads sense stock are horrible. I run the Odssey Ghost pads and their light along with quiet but sufficient braking power
I have the Sunday freeze TL and odyssey Springfield on both my bikes! One tip I would say with wheels, you get a much better deal if you go for complete wheel builds, I was looking for a freecoaster and got a complete wheel for the price of just the hub so its worth shopping around a bit for wheels.
I ride a cult complete that I’ve had for 2 years now and it was good but changed my cranks out to the Sunday saker like 8 months ago. You mentioned some tires I have been looking at and I do like those stolen ones. Thanks for the video mike!
I got mission cross bars real cheap 4 pc, got mision cup conversion sealed bearings. Stolen Rampage wheel for under 100 bucks, bought a Left hand drive so had to switch my crank around.
Plus the pride you'll get every time you upgrade your bike with a sweet part as you go ! Or save up $1,200 and build the bike of your dreams ! The world is your oyster 💪😎🙏
Rant Moonwalker II coaster is a really good deal. I’ve had mine for 2.5yrs and I’ve had zero issues. I run almost all Shadow parts excluding my Rant parts. I have Rant complete wheels, forks and Bars. I actually like the Rant bars more than my FBM 4pc bars. The forks have been just as good as my Primo forks. The Rant BB and headset also last. Good product for the money and in general. Great customer service as well.
A good set of tires right around $50 would be Demolition Momentum’s. They’re still a wire bead, but they’re as light, if not lighter than most of the foldable tires that are almost twice as much.
Great recommendations, a lot of these parts came on my first kink complete the “launch” if you are new that is a good bike to start with if you are JUST STARTING i think they are around $300 for a full bike 👍
always had good experiences with mission products for budgets...not a fan of rant...for stems, the freeze stem is solid for the price and the federal impact sprocket was like $30
Absolutely love this video, so incredibly informative particularly with our current economic conditions and how so many of us are struggling financially. Thanks a ton for doing this video!
Mike Fede I have the Sunday saker cranks in black on my s&m laf and I love them no issues had the chrome ones on my 24” s&m atf but now have the subrosa big bitching cranks on my atf now 🤘
I'd like to see a video regarding how much of a bicycle can be built with lifetime warranty parts. There's various warranties out there for various parts. I'm heavy and not very smooth, but like doing drops.
What about cheap & light parts i like using an old school frame for example chrome 25th anniversary mongoose which are heavy frames so I want light everything else & change the one piece crank to 3 piece pls any ideas, tips cheers
I got a colony wasp cassette hub for £60/$80 on eBay from Australia store called luxbmx was super happy to find a hub that cheap brand new too and love it but I do want to get a profile elite hub as I like the engagement on the wasp hub, this video is great for parts to find if your low on money like in my situation. I also have friends who get parts and sell them on I got a federal Lacy frame band new for £100
What is priority for upgrades? We don't have a lot of money but trying to set my kids up best I can. My 9 year old just got a used 18" Cult Juvenile that looks pretty clean but thats coming from a mom who doesn't know much about bikes. My 7 year old got that 16" cult juvenile from his older brother. Its also stock but looks pretty beat up. The brakes have always been stiff on that bike.
Cult is great. Aslong as the bearings are greased and everything moves properly, as well as bothing is bent, even if the bike looks crappy and rusty, its still a geaat bike.
I just got my 8yo son a 2020 GT Performer x Box Palm collab, & I'm thinking about getting the 2021 one for myself now & I'm 48! 😆 We're a big biking family, I ride ebikes full time & work in the industry, so it'll get a lot of riding in our group rides. What's some accessories/ upgrades you guys would recommend for a $200 budget? Is this bike even worth investing that much into it?
i want ti parts lol but im broke i want my bike to be lighter its around 27 lbs and im anoob lol i did get new brakes and i got a aliennation malace rim with ti spokes and profile mini hub with all tie parts on it i got a we the people versus bike and i got snafu jet fuel cranks
@@MikeFede yea thats what i am told. lol i cant really do anything yet i am 38 trying to learn lol. so only time will tell i guess. i really need to get some pads at some point if i cant find the money to at some point
I think the statue bike rack is 10/10
Awesome idea.... I like how some of the cheap stuff is better than expensive parts, that shows you how much they care about their customers.
Yea better in the way of getting more for the money at the entry level👍🏼

Biggest problem is find anything that’s actually in-stock right now
Yeah im trying to find a cult gateway that's raw and I cant find one

Nice!! I’m glad you could get some info from this video and when you get the tires post a pic and tag me. I’ll be stoked to check out the build🤘🏽

I’m using the Springfield brakes too! Works like a peach😆

@@MikeFede I have the odessy brakes on my Sunday BMX
This is the video I have been looking for I’m from Canada and this great for me bc parts are expensive to get over here
Welcome! Thanks for the support and I’m stoked this video could help you🤘🏽
Thanks for the info. I wish there were more BMX stores or bike shops that caters to BMX. Not much in OKC.
I hear ya, Im in Iowa. Not much around, even if I drive 2hrs plus and its not a BMX shop.
This is a perfect video I was looking for. Great video 😁
great video but I gotta caution against the Sunday Saker cranks, wouldn't stop squeaking and coming loose. Pay the extra $30 and get spline drive!!

@@MikeFede yeah 21” s&m laf 24” s&m atf 26” fit mike aitkens with Spencer foresman bars on it and a 26” mafia bike blackjack d dirt jumper 😂😂
I used to go cheap now I have a hyper wizard chrome with all snafu jet fuel parts. Now I'm broke lmao with Astroglide gyro brakes

I might have zoned out, but did he discuss pedals? A lot budget completes come with super cheap pedals
I've built 2 spline drives, won't be doing a third. Takes a hydraulic press and that suck ain't never coming off. Still a tight spot in the chain lol
Damn! A hydraulic press? Never had to do that before. Mine go on and come off with some hard pressure but not a hydraulic press 😂
Should have mentioned that the pegs usually come as singles. So it’s gonna be close to 50 for a set or 100 for four
What’s you’re opinion on 26T Sprockets?
Wooooooooooooooooo i dig, mike

Thanks Mike this really helps
Anyone know if the Verde Regent cranks are decent for the $60 price range?

What about Hub Guards ? Having a hard time figuring out which ones i need for my stock 2021 Kink Whip xL.
Hey Mike. I wonder if you could do a video on the new BSD revolution hub. Would be interesting to hear your opinion
Can you even get them right now?
I still haven't really abused by bike after 3 years of getting it, but my sprocket has some chipped teeth and brake pads are not working well.
Omg thanks is soo hopeful

On my BMX I payed 20 dollars a piece for 120 psi tires alterain tires
How to add a 3 piece to a single crank
Have the Sunday Knox sprocket guard on my atf 😂😂
The 4 dislikes are from people who wanted 20$ forks.
I would not recommend the Rant Spring brakes. The lever is really cheaply made using plastic Wasers,
Good to know. I like the Springfield ones. Solid upgrade👍🏼
