I cant remember, but I think the early 5.7 Hemi was different than the one in the later models as far as cam and lifter issues
You have likely checked already, but a lifter issue also could sound like an exhaust leak. Exhaust leaks are very common on these trucks. If it is an exhaust leak, that would be good news 😁
