I was at the grocery store with my autistic son once when we encountered a Karen screaming at an employee about i don't know what. She was so loud, it caused my son to have a meltdown. Another woman saw all this, walked calmly up to Karen and said, "Ma'am, your behavior is creating distress to a child and you are embarrassing yourself." Karen looked around to see me comforting my son who was crying and holding his ears and everyone looking at her in a "How could you?" expression on their face. She turned bright and left without another word. Hope she learned a lesson that day.
If they didn't break any laws then it changes from a citizen's arrest to an attempted kidnapping/false imprisonment...... if cops actually held Karens accountable
@@SoManyRandomRamblings A parking ticket doesn't cover any form of "citizens arrest". Even in this instance she would have been arrested rather than the man who parked illegally.
I’m a manager, and I can tell you that just asking to speak to a manager doesn’t make you a Karen. Our job is to help people and fix problems, and I’m happy to do that. What makes a person a Karen is when they are rude/entitled/screaming. I’ve helped a lot of people who were so worried about asking for my help cause they didn’t want to be a Karen, they are also some of the nicest/respectful people I help. You’re not a Karen Charlotte 💜
I remember at a local restaurant, an older gentleman asked to speak with the manager about that table’s server. Poor girl was terrified. It was so the man could compliment her! That she was friendly, helpful, and she was a delight to meet. The next time the family came in, they requested her zone.
This is a lot to unpack but labeling a Karen is indeed rude and crappy. It’s such a negative word and someone can edit what they recorded so you see a narrative. It doesn’t matter who you are, be respectful to others. Making a scene like this can generate hate from social media to follow you whenever you go, even creating termination. We can’t lie, many try to create videos to create reactions so they get feed. But I lost it with the family contracts….this is too personal for fast food 😂😂
Very true about not judging others with their lawns. It’s not always laziness. Early this summer I was struggling with my mental health so I had been crashing at my parents’ a lot. I got a notification of a person in my backyard from my security camera and when I checked it was my next door neighbor. An older man. He was mowing my lawn to help me out. Didn’t even tell me to get credit for it. That was enough to get me out of my dark hole and feel something positive. On my way to my house the next night I picked him up a 12 pack of Bud Light (his favorite) and thanked him for helping me out. He felt good being recognized and knowing that caring is still appreciated!
Hope you are doing better now. Last summer my spouse was deployed overseas. We have two kids and I work a demanding job. Over the summer I hurt my back so the lawn was getting a little overgrown. It took weeks to find a landscaping company that was taking new clients since we were far into the season. My neighbors were constantly complaining despite knowing everything that was going on. I’m so happy your lovely neighbor was a gem of a person and there for you. We all deserve that extra help when we need it the most. Hoping for all the best for you and your awesome neighbor.
People have forgotten the meaning of community, it's nice to see that the "it takes a village" mindset is still alive in some people's hearts. Hope your doing better💙
Thank you all! ❤️ I am happy to say I’m doing much better mentally. I did sprain my wrist at work a few weeks ago and was limited to 5 lbs to hold or push with my left wrist. With the Midwest rain and work schedules of loved ones, no one was able to help me out. Another neighbor has mowed my lawn twice now while I’m healing. I wrote a nice letter and gave him a $25 QT gift card and he told me I don’t need to pay him and anytime I need help he will be there. He also replaced a few boards on my fence that a recent storm knocked down. It’s nice knowing there are still genuine, caring people out there.
I laugh when I'm uncomfortable, so when a Karen yelled at me it was an active struggle not to laugh in their faces. I loved that Starbucks barista was beaming lol
My husband is a mobile mechanic, so he was working on a customers car at their house. A Jerry came up to him and started complaining about how one of the cars hadn’t been moved in two weeks, and it was collecting dust and bringing down the property values. The car belonged to a young man in the house who had recently broken his back. My husband told the guy, if you really want this car not to look a mess, why don’t you be a good neighbor and wash it for him. The guy just walked away.
I have only had to ask for the manager at a restaurant once to move my table, but we made sure to leave a 35% tip because it had nothing to do with our waiter
"It's not illegal to be loud".....yes it is. The way you are doing it, it's technically called a "public disturbance". They can in fact ask you to leave and refuse service while also calling the cops if you continue to do so. You can absolutely be arrested.
It’s obvious she is mentally I’ll, not being a Karen. Her words in overall context mean absolutely nothing, and she’s rambling from one sentence to the next.
6:23 the crazy thing about this is that there is an entire show called Road Wars where there are so many videos like this… seemingly average law abiding citizens committing serious crimes in their cars. Adults smashing their cars into others, and more. It’s nuts!
Yeah, i'll tell you guys something. I have a tattoo, and no one in my family on my mother's side, apart from her, knew about it. Until this last weekend. My mom had a pool birthday party and almost everyone in the family showed up, including one of my aunts, who we can call "K", a lovely specimen, really. A little about K, she bought a goddamn appartment for her son, is paying for his College fees and somehow still brags about how he's simply SO smart, and awesome, and it's better than any other cousin. Including, *especially*, me. When she saw my tattoo, she FLIPPED. Screamed, got right into my face, swaying her firger around like a mad woman and everybody just stared at her for a while not knowing what to do. Some lovely comments included how i was a "Shame for my family", that i was a "Complete disgrace" and "I can never do anything right and decided to finish ruining the family's reputation by doing that". Oh, yeah, literally nobody cared about it other than her. My youngest aunt pushed her away from me cause i was actually scared about her getting physical, looked at her dead in the eyes and said, "Shut the fuck up K, your son dyed his balls pink, WITH YOUR MONEY. At least she's not leaching from her mother." Silent, shock, then laugh. Apparently nobody knew about that, and my youngest aunt just found out after seeing some very weird posts from my cousin. K turned red, runned back to her husband, screamed with the poor guy and left after he could do absolutely nothing about the almost twenty people laughing at her, pulling him to the car and still screaming as she did it. Even my grandma laughed, and she was ALSO kinda mad with me for getting a tattoo, lol.
We are going through a tough time and you totally made hubby's and my day. I just have to think "pink balls" to have a laugh. Thank you so much for sharing. P.s. my mother is a Karen and she made my life totally miserable.
@@wendyduwe3995 Honestly, how the hell anyone would think about pink balls withouth laughing? I think it's well deserved! 🤣 I hope things get better for both of you soon. And well, i don't have a Karen mother, but that aunt of mine gave me some real traumas, mostly for force feeding me food i didn't want to until i threw it all up, and then doing it again. In multiple ocasions. Cause, sure, it would absolutely work 🫠.
Yeah. So many of these videos featured individuals committing various crimes. Calling the cops and saying you want to press charges can sometimes result in a very real and humbling experience for them! For those whom it is not, they usually manage to self-humble when they get additional charges because they try to Karen the officers too.
It takes at least 15 minutes for cops to respond to most calls. The bigger question is why aren't people carrying pepper spray or other self defense tools
Road rage Karen (and to a lesser extent the other car) angered me so much because they could have injured innocent bystanders so easily. Someone crossing in a crosswalk, a child crossing the street, a tragedy could very easily happen. No perceived slight is worth that energy, that anger, that risk.
Yea… not saying the woman was innocent but the kids were clearly instigating things. They should’ve just called the police, instead they filmed THEMSELVES also endangering other people and posted it on social media
@@onecatshortofcrazy12 Yeah, you never know what started any of it (Karen’s response was inappropriate regardless), but their decision to follow and continue pushing her buttons was also inappropriate and either led to or continued a potentially dangerous situation.
@@jiaswan22 the thing is, she was in the wrong no matter what she did after she harassed them and destroyed property. they could have been trying to get her license plate. it wasn't really inappropriate cause she just pulled some crazy shit. like, after that what they did was simply normal
i agree. that is immediate grounds for driving suspension if i had my way ..take away her license. she does not deserve to have the privilege to drive - its a huge responsibility
This happened in Queensland Australia and she did go to court for this incident and another one. "Leisa Wise was ordered to pay back a combined $1050 in compensation to the two victims, one of whom had their car covered in hot water and dog faeces by Wise." She tried to say that she was set up but she confessed in the video that she did the deed.
I think there’s a difference between speaking or talking to a manager about actual problems and demanding free stuff or services because one doesn’t want to pay. Heat is important for survival, no judgment here Charlotte!
Oh yeah totally! I requested a manager the other day just to see if it was ok to park around front to pick up grocery as they got slammed and full on they said sure and thanks for asking! If you don't ask you'll park in front and no one will serve you as they don't think you arrived for your order.
When you're respectful when speaking to the manager it is amazing how quickly things are 1. Resolved and 2. Sometimes you even get a discount or a treat... but if you are entitled you'll just get pushback but these entitled people obviously feel entitled because they are never held accountable.
I always wonder if the family of these karens and kevins put up with this behavior? Maybe if they did not get away with it at home, the public would not suffer their tantrums.
Omg I spent 2 and a half years trying to explain this to my ex. He would totally spaz out because some minor inconvenience happened and go full Karen on them. I'm like, just stop talking. Let me handle it because he thought they were assholes when they hung up on him for yelling at them. He could NOT comprehend that people didn't have to sit there and listen to him berate them. He was unsufferable. That's why we're not together. He didn't have any patience.
i asked for a manager once - to praise the employee who had helped me and my friend - i have mobility issues and the employee was super nice, helped us find what we were looking for - the manager looked like he didn't know how to react. shame that they are so used to complaints that praise is so rare.
I got transferred to a manager once. I was going back and forth with insurance and the hospital on a bill (for 10 months). I think the types of questions I was asking the hospital billing department were more complex than the worker was comfortable answering. At least I don’t think I was a Karen. Anyway, I explained my actions/appeals, the insurance denials, my questions, and everything to the hospital billing manager and she refunded my bill (don’t get too excited, it was less than $200) because she felt bad about the runaround from my insurance. I think if I had approached her in a Karen attitude, that would not have happened. On an even more positive note, after she escalated the issue in their department and I escalated the issue to my HR, the insurance company actually felt enough pressure and ended up paying what they should have covered originally.
For the lawn one... one time a couple was walking outside the house on the street, and i was quietly sitting outside in the lawn with the dog. They couldn't have seen me from behind the hedges, but as they walked by the woman asked her husband "How can people just let their yards get like this!?" And he said "It's because they're lazy, and they just don't care about looking like trash!" And I stood up, tears on my face cause adhd, sensitive, and embarassingly cried at them how "Some people actually are just very poor or on disability like me, and cannot afford the lawn equipment to maintain it. Some are just lucky to have a roof, even if they look like trash! I So sorry I can't afford to get the blackberry bushes taken care of. If you' can donate, then i'll show how much i really care!" And I also told them to not judge when they don't even know what they're talking about etcetc, but their faces were all red and i hope they think about what they say to this day.
Omg at my old house we had neighbors calling the cops about our grass all the time. My husband was working 2 full time jobs and I am disabled so we always had issues keeping up, but never understood the need to call police over someone’s grass
My husband has had 4 heart attacks, I'm in a wheelchair, and my 40y/o daughter works a split shift. We live in a neighborhood of tradesman; plumbers, landscapers , hvac, builders. Twice in the last year, someone has come over and mowed. There are some kind people out there.
@@ELLENDREWS-f6j that is very kind, I love that people like that do exist in the world! I wish those kinds of people lived by us at my old place. All we ever got were visits/fines from the police and the police officer telling us our situation “wasn’t an excuse” and that since he was able to mow his lawn we should be able to? Not to mention we didn’t even own a working lawnmower at the time and had to borrow one when we could.
When my mom passed away we were depressed and let our yard and garden go so the neighbors got together and took care of it for us, it was really moving and I keep the memory close to my heart! ❤
For the first one - call the police. Tell them you are being involuntarily held and threatened by a woman who is clearly mentally ill. Karen has two choices - either let the person go, or explain to the police why a) she is restraining someone and threatening to sue them if they move (FYI, that won't fly in court; it's all on video and she's the aggressor); and b) explain how she's not mentally ill (by the end of this scenario, she will be screaming like the woman at the poor police officer).
The problem is that most people won't call the police because they know or at least think that the police won't do anything in most cases. All the woman has to do is start the crocodile tears and she becomes the damsel in distress that society's males have been told they must placate/save. Also, they're afraid that if the police actually do take an action they themselves will have to take time off from work to deal with some aspect of it in court. In one case nothing happens and in another case they're inconvenienced more because of someone else's bad behavior. The law sure is hard on the innocents sometimes. 🤷♀️
That's what tells me the whole thing was premeditated, not a spur of the moment decision. My guess is she was saving that up because she was tired of people parking in front of her house, and the next person who did that was going to end up with their car vandalized. Accents sound...Australian? Don't know how it is over there, but in the States at least, public streets are public and you can't tell someone not to park in front of your house just because you don't like it. I'm glad she got charged for it.
A couple of years ago, the hot water stopped working in my apartment. It was a pretty expensive apartment too. I put in three separate maintenance requests that went ignored and was so afraid to call the office lest I be called a Karen. My fear of being called a Karen got me frozen showers for a week and baths for the kids required eight pots of manually boiled water. Sometimes it's okay to call the manager.
Hot water is a 24hr emergency where I live! Landlords have 24hrs to fix water/heat issues. You are not a Karen for having to demand what you pay for when your maintenance requests get ignored! That is so rude! I’m sorry you had to freeze in the shower!
Asking calmly for something to be fixed that you pay for should not have you be called a Karen, im sorry you had to experience the cold showers and baths
For future reference keeping someone from leaving or entering is called blocking ingress- egress and it’s a Class 2 Misdemeanor punishable by jail time. Yes, you are legally allowed to move someone they heck out of your way.
as she is a senior, he could get in trouble. its better to just call the police and have them remove the citizen. Especially if they are seniors as they maybe experiencing alzheimers/dementia and just get angry at anything really. also, make sure they have a caregiver or report them to the state because maybe they need assistance with basic living. like keeping them out of street fights. lol however this lady looks like she is a feisty one and is proud of it ...what a pain
I’m the manager of a large apartment complex and she’s right. Most of the time, the leasing agents and assistant manager have zero control over bigger issues. They can pass the word up but I enjoy speaking to my residents directly about issues so I’m in the loop and things get done quickly. ❤
Asking for a manager doesn't automatically make you a Karen. I worked retail and there were times that a manager was needed to solve a problem because regular workers like me were unable too for a multitude of reasons. Your completely right, as long as your nice or at a bare minimum polite when asking then it isn't a big deal.
My 6 and 8 year old nephews behave more maturely than the people in that first video! “I’m gonna leave.” “No you’re not!” “Yes I am.” “No!” “Yes!” My nephews haven’t done that since they were 2 and 4! 🤦🏻♂️
We literally had a neighbor lose their mind on my (exes) family because the van coming to retrieve our deceased Grams was driving 15 mph down the road instead of 25mph. I could not believe the reaction from this person...even after we told them our family had passed. He yelled at us like we were driving this van or had anything to do with the speed...the van was clearly from a company...and we were all clearly in mourning. Just give people some grace.
We were in a FUNERAL PROCESSION for my uncle, and got to go through the red light and a taxi tried to pull in front of us anyway. His passenger, a woman, flipped us off. I'll never forget that.
@@SpicyMcChimken Right? It hurt me to read the original comment ( it hurt me for THEM), because I understand their pain after getting flipped off during a drive from the church to the cemetery.
Every time I've had to visit the Customer Service or speak with a manager (I think maybe 4 times in my 50 years?), I always start with "I don't mean to be THAT customer..." and that usually diffuses situations. Those folks are SO tired of being verbally abused by customers.
I just had a situation like this. I was. In CVS and their whole system had gone down, so they couldn't fill a script that I desperately needed right then, and couldn't come back for that day. I felt so bad, they were frantic, trying to deal with it. But because I didn't lose my cool, and I just calmly and kindly explained my situation, they pulled 5 pills and gave it to me, and wrote a note to take it off my script when they eventually filled it.
I always make sure to be extra pleasant when dealing with anyone in the service or retail industry. They have a hard enough time just getting through the day with GOOD customers. Let’s not make people’s lives harder. And if Shit happens, don’t fall apart over it. Mistakes happen. No one is perfect.
Over 20 years ago I was grocery shopping with my nine year old son. He always liked helping me find things in the store, and now that I'm older and disabled I especially love having my 31 year old son shop with me. Anyway, 20 years ago I asked him to find Ranch dressing. He noticed one bottle had a very different looking label although it was the same brand, so he looked at the expiration date, _it had expired seven years ago!_ He told me I should tell the manager, but I told him it would be better if he did, since he's the one who found it. Also, he's not as introverted as me. The manager was horrified, closed the whole aisle off and had workers search through every bottle to check dates. I don't know how that could even happen unless some prankster brought that old bottle in and put it on the shelf. My favorite part was when he told the manager that he was only two years old when this dressing had already expired!

Back in the late 90s i went to a restaurant opening with a friend, we had drinks and the food was good and i will admit i was quite tipsy and mind you i had been in the industry for a minute by that point so i decided to show my friend a move, but i didn't warn her about what i was about to do. I called over our waiter and said i need the Manager now please. I didn't know that right before i did this, that they had a Karen event so when the Manager came over he looked pensive already and i was like Man the food is so good! This has been an awesome night, i'm sending my friends over to try this place out! I had a great talk with the Manager who relaxed instantly and then told me the day had actually not been smooth, but i assured him it was good and we had had a good time. My friend was laughing so hard cuz she thought i was going to have an issue or something, then a free round of Margaritas came our way and she was like "That's what you were up to!" >^,^
The Ultimate Karen Uno Reverse card! I've been invited to be the Mayor of Margaritaville many times in the past when I was out with friends, so I'm definitely happy you got free margaritas.
My neighbour cut off the flowers that I planted with my daughter, despite it having a little fence around it (which he broke), with the escuse that he was just trying to help by cutting the grass. I screamed for 20 minutes straight at his face to never do me any favours that I didn't ask for. We were out at the time he did it.
Wow. The sheer audacity of people never ceases to amaze me. Also, sorry to be THAT person, but English major here, past tense of cut is still cut. But regardless, I would’ve lost my Shit. I’m sure you stayed way more calm than I would’ve. Damn.
ppl suck....dont feel bad...our new to us house (little over 2 years) has a flower bed with wild flowers, yew bushes , birdbath, feeder etc. very organic looking ...great refuge for wildlife.... reseeds itself ..very little maintence needed...let it go wild kinda thing .....as part of the open border between yards that is part of our property. prior owners lived here 30 yrs (relevant) . Neighbors adult son had been cutting our property due to an injury of ours (we paid him) . i look out the window and notice the whole thing flattened out except for the birdbath and yew bushes ...WTH? "oh my dad said to cut it down." you cut down a ton of wildflowers that will take over a year to hopefully come back. "oh i didnt know" Now mind i didnt care if they trimmed anything overhanging into their yard but he was only supposed to cut the grass, not cross over the rock border and weedwhack it to the dirt level. Not only did you probably just kill all the plants , you also destroyed the bunnies home and took away the feed for a ton of birds . ....side note i am housebound and really enjoy watching them . And it gets better...🙄 The son and mom come over to our place one day to let us know they will be taking out the flower bed so they can plant grass....(and tearing down one of their trees in their back yard to plant peach and pear trees ---we dont live in the right climate let alone they will be long gone before the trees mature enough for fruit) ......"ummmmm, no you are not that is ours, trim your side if you must but it was a big selling point for us when purchasing " the mom comes back with , well Chris (former owner of our place) always took care of it ......"yeah because it was hers and they planted it " i looked at records and photos and yeah...not theirs...dates dont coincide, it was put in after the former owners moved in but before they moved in . She was trying to pull a fast one or she would have argued the point and simply said we planted that . Like seriously why would you plant a flower bed and just have the neigbor care for it for over 18 years? honestly ? LOL sorry so long hard to explain without pics ...i think i will be petty and get one of those huge circle arches to put between the 2 yew bushes closer to the backside of the bed that borders them and hang a whole bunch of wind chimes off of it. ...Their house is super close to the property line on that side...LOL oh and side note..suddenly the son could no longer cut our grass ...lol
@erikarussell1142 I needed clarification of the use of the word cut. It didn't feel right to me, but I wasn't going to look it up. I appreciate it, thank you.
@vilmaalencar9085 No, you were right. Idk why that attempt was made to correct the use of cut/cutting? The way it was used was correct. Really the spelling of "escuse", instead of "excuse" was the only thing I noticed. Still it's hardly a big deal.lol. Especially considering English is not your first, or primary language!
My sister and I asked for the manager once and as he came towards us you could see he was preparing for trouble and had complementary cards for free meals in his hands. When my sister said “I just wanted to let you know our waitress … was wonderful! I have a serious food allergy and she was very helpful and understanding and did wonderfully. I just wanted to let you know she’s a wonderful waitress.” He smiled and was so shocked that it wasn’t a complaint he didn’t know what to say at first. 😀🦋
I was just in the drive thru line at the coffee shop. This karen went off on the staff because there’s 2 lanes that turn into one. She was just an ahole to them. Over bullsht. It was so embarrassing to witness. She got to the window and the manager banned her from that location. That was hilarious to watch her freakout even more. I felt so bad for the staff. They’re such nice people. They don’t deserve that. Ever.
I was wondering if anyone else thought that too! I would love to get my hair cut like that now that I'm post-menopause and my hair is thinner.. She certainly LOOKS better than the usual Karen, but I noticed her mouth looks like she has a permanent frown. Pretty shade of lipstick, though!
@@LazyIRanch You would look great with that cut I think. 🤩 I’m too lazy to go to a hairdresser regularly , so I keep a bun 90%, haha, although I get the WORST short hair envy.
One time I got called a Karen because we had been waiting nearly two hours at ihop for our food, and hadn’t seen our waitress for almost an hour, and so I asked a passing server if she could get our server, and then I politely said, “I’m a server too, so I know it’s totally not your fault I was just wondering how much longer it would be” her reply? “Being a Karen won’t make it come any faster”. We all had waters so I said, okay have a good day and we left. I wanted to cry real tears 😂
I like Ihops food but the service consistently sucks. Last time I had a call in order, I knew it wouldn't be on time so I arrived about 10 minutes after the specified arrival time and STILL had to wait 40 minutes. Yeah. Oh and a family came in behind to dine in and they ended up leaving because they were never spoken to or seated with a ton of empty tables.
I got treated like a Karen when I went to grocery pick up, checked in with the app, and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally I called them and they informed me they knew the app wasn't working. Ummmm...when they came out I asked why they didn't put up a sign for people and she pointed to the regular one with the phone number on it. I very nicely said, "No, that the app is not working so people don't first use the app and wait and wait before they call." I was not rude, AT ALL but I was irritated. She rolled her eyes at me and muttered under her breath. Yes, I called the customer care line and complained. I failed to see what I did wrong. I mean damn.
I have two acquaintances living in the same terrace of grey stone houses. One of them is responsible for maintaining the garden and lawn in the middle of the terrace. She had the same flowers in subtle shades of mauve planted in every garden. Looked very nice and elegant. The other lady didn’t like the colours so pulled them out of her part of the garden and put in plants that were big and very, very colourful. The first lady went nuts in her kitchen and they had polite words but she wisely left them there.
I have been involved in several road rage incidents throughout the years, some started by myself I’m ashamed to admit. It wasn’t anything dangerous or as intense as most you see documented on social media, but it was definitely me being a moron. One day I started getting upset about a car that changed into my lane making it necessarily for me to slam on my brakes and swerve my car into the lane next to me to avoid getting hit. As I was getting ‘elevated’, I had an epiphany….what was I doing???? I was becoming a part of the problem we are seeing more and more every day. I was letting an unfortunate situation determine my behavior. I was choosing to let myself get out of control. It was a great day for me because since that day I have not let any potentially unpleasant situation override the person that I want to be. If someone wants to cut me off, I brake and let them in, if someone wants to cut in line at the grocery store, I make room for them. I don’t know what’s happening in that persons life at that moment in time to explain their behavior, but I’ve decided to be a positive in their day rather than a negative. I can’t even began to tell you how that has so positively impacted my world!
Jepp. As they say: 'You can't always control what happens to you, but you can control, how you react to it'. Not that I stick to that without fail...but I try. Getting unreasonably angry can so easily end you up in a really dangerous situation.
I was tailgated and flashed a dozen times by a car behind me, clearly they were fucking with me and they were being reckless. I was sick of it so threw my car in park and walked back. It was a car full of kids younger than me. At the time, I was 18 and barely 115lbs. I told them they were lucky i wasnt a crazy man with a gun and that they need to stop. They almost shit their pants. I was VERY stupid for this, and I was lucky it wasn't a crazy guy with a gun. I did teach them a valuable lesson, though, and they made me realize I should never do that again.
I always preface my questions as a customer with, "So I'm aware that I might be an idiot..." It gives whoever's helping me a reason to laugh, and the immediate understanding that I'm not going to make this conversation too serious.😂
Humor works better than being a raging B! I grew up in the deep South and have quite a drawl, and get made fun of where I now live in SoCal. Sometimes I play up the accent and "Southernisms" for humor. I can't afford to hire a handyman so I have to do my own house repairs. I'm often at the hardware store. I do okay most of the time, but sometimes the issues are more complicated and I can't even figure out how to ask the right questions from employees. First, I find an employee with grey hair and rough hands. They know stuff. When I know my question is going to sound dumb, I start off saying something like, "I need advice from someone who knows what they are doing, so I'm lucky I found you!" (they seem to like that one). If the employee happens to also be Southern, I might say something like, "I fell out of the Stupid Tree last month and landed on my head. Must have hit every branch on the way down because I can't figure this thang out, but YOU look like a smart fella!" Then, if they are really redneck, they answer with, "I'm more of a "fart smeller" than a smart fella!" Then we trade a couple more jokes before getting down to business. My ex hated this about me. 😏
As a person who has worked in customer service for years, but as a worker and as a manager, if I ever need to talk to a manager I make sure to be very polite and nice to the workers. Whatever problem usually exists, it rarely stems for the workers, so I vener feel the need to be mean to them. I'm sure they already aren't having fun.
He should've NEVER threatened to arrest her...he should've done it the SECOND she didn't back off and stop him from doing his actual job. She was creating a public disturbance AND was a public nuisance....so GET EFFED you absolute reeeeeing banshee
Whilst that would be true, the cop is probably thinking its not worth the fight to get her into handcuffs, the time and paperwork etc, just to be let off of all charges in the morning when she sobers up.
Thing is, at some point people will let out their inner Karen once they're fed up with poor service or repeatedly informs a staff over something yeah. But these Karens just cause problems for themselves. Also, as a Filipino, can confirm the Karens in our community are the titas, at least one per family lmaooo
All filipinos are karens. Favorite move, lowkey passive aggressive speaking about a person without facing that person, but making sure that person can hear it. Men, women, young, old, doesn't matter. Miserable, miserable people. Yes, i live amongst them. My favorite is, "ayan na yung bwisita". They thought that person couldn't understand tagalog. These were young female millenials, & lowly cashiers. Don't pin it on titas.
That’s usually my reaction. I have a whole family of Karen’s, so it fully amuses me when people act that way. I laughed at one lady and when she freaked out I was laughing and wanted to demand why, I told her she was “out here acting a clown for free. And you catch more flies with honey, so maybe just keep up that sweet lil old lady image, you’re doing great…” and then I literally walked away from our transaction and refused to cash her out. She turned me in, but I’d been there 5 years with only compliments and she was my very first complaint. They deleted it off my review so it wouldn’t dock me. Thank god for good bosses.
Try this sometime... When things are going well somewhere... Go ahead and ask for the manager. Don't say why. And then when the manager comes over, tell him/her all the reasons why their store and/or employees are great, and that you just wanted them to know that they are doing a good job. You'll make their day :)
I highly suggest you DO tell why, because not telling will very likely give the worker anxiety, especially if they have a boss who says “we have to write up all complaints, no matter how small.” And also count all write ups against your record
If I get good service I ask for the manager explaining to the employee that everything‘s OK. When the manager arrives, I tell them how pleased I am with the employee and I tell them to give said employee a raise!
People get really confused about the difference between public property and private property with public access. You can't do whatever you want on private property just because it allows public access.
There is a charge for screaming. I work in the justice system and have literally seen a charge written “did unlawfully disturb the peace; via screaming”. I was shocked when I first saw it so reread it like 3 times and I have never forgotten it.
At least toddlers have a good excuse-they are not used to dealing with big emotions or little ones when they are also tired or hungry. Good parents find a way to walk them through it and teach them coping skills. This obviously doesn't happen with Karens. I blame bad parenting.
My favorite “get the manager” Karen was an older woman pitching a psychotic fit at the airport. She kept screaming when the cops arrested her to get the ‘manager of the airport’ like she was at Target.
3:06 How are you not embarrassed, indeed Charlotte. I get embarrassed just trying to order my damn drink because I don't want to mess up in front of everyone, so I can't imagine being LOUD like this. My social anxiety could never lol
I love how karens never stop to think about their actions and consequences. Then again if karens did by some miricle have 2 brain cells then we wouldn't have these hilarious freakouts over people having fun and screaming over something so damn minor. I just love how cool and collected the victims are, makes it even more funnier watching the karens getting angrier by the second.
You’ll find the older you get, the less patience you have, and the more little things will piss you off! Like when a fast food restaurant forgets something small like the cheese on your burger or the sauce for your nuggets. It’s weird! My dad told me this would happen, and I didn’t believe him. 🤣 You just have to be kind about it. Especially when you ask for the manager. BE NICE, people! And calm. It makes the difference between needing to get something done, and being a complete Karen! 🤣🥰 Love you, Charlotte! Xoxo
Lol I've noticed the opposite. The bar is just set so low rn: oh, they put in the wrong medical insurance for the bloodwork and i have to wait on hold forever to sort it out? Oh well, guess I'll have a glass of wine while I wait.
Love you charlotte!! You’re absolutely right you don’t know what people are going through for their lawns to not be tidy. I have mobility issues and my husband has had severe depression so it hasn’t been the best. But sometimes you have to pick your battles.
Im 39 weeks pregnant, in early labor. Going through back labor and the pain is so much that im throwing up/nauseous. Literally staying home (besides the hospital) just in case its the literal flu.
The Starbucks Karen is the reason why I have so much anxiety going ANYWHERE & try to stay home at all costs bc that would overstimulate me IMMEDIATELY…
I want to say, about this whole thing about calling people Karens. It really flourished a few years back and people love this shit, but honestly? In a lot of cases, they have good reasons to be upset, and then people just film them to piss them off more and escalate the situation and call them a Karen. As Charlotte said: sometimes you have to ask for the manager! And that shouldn't automatically make you a Karen. The bar for calling someone a Karen is just so low, much lower than it should be. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
15:10- The video where the lady put poop on the car happened in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. It was on all the news stations, even her court appearance on the charges I’m pretty sure. It was soo nuts haha.
I’m a barista and can confirm the amount of things we get yelled at over is ridiculous. I got sugar thrown at me this week because I politely told a man he cant come behind the line to take sugars. Like was actually behind the bar’s to get sugar. And he threw the sugar at me.
@@takeofoxsama6198 and I feel bad for asking for the ICED coffee I ordered, after they make it hot! LOL My mom had it happen at her coffee shop twice! When I was in high school, me and my siblings would spend the summers with my grandparents out of state. My mom had to work so she stayed at home. One summer she had broken her leg, so couldn’t cut the grass. One of the neighbors called the city to complain About her tall grass. When she was out with a cast up to mid thigh trying to cut the grass with tears streaming down her face because she was in pain and couldn’t afford to be fined by the city, he came up to her and asked why her kids weren’t doing it. And when he learned we were all out of state for the summer I guess he felt guilty and told her to go inside and he would do it. He cut the grass that whole summer lol. So yeah. You never know why someone has long grass.
The one yelling in Starbucks - um, ma’m, the personal financial situation of the employees and their families is not any of your business, but if you feel they may not make enough to live on you can always help by being a generous tipper.
I am 41 and have never had to ask for the manager. But in your case where it is involving your home i understand. That is the only way to get something like no heat fixed.
1 . Note to self make a no idiots allowed sign and send it to queen charlotte.... 2. It's not always being Karen if you need to speak to a manager. ie.. The other day my family was at a little diner and the whole time we were there the waitstaff decided to point laugh mock and make rude comments about me.... I am 22 but due to my disabilities I'm mentally like 5-8ish... My mom even has the papers.... And I carry a bear doll w me everywhere because I have severe anxiety attacks and its the only thing that calms me... So when we left... My mom had a nice chat w the manager about teaching the staff manners.... Sometimes you need to talk to the manager.
@@Kayenne54 on a social rank I'm 5 due to my disabilities... But physically I'm in my20s I'm an adult hon.. Just not on a social level... If you met me you would understand... Oh goodness gracious! This reminds me of when I worked at a bridal shop... You want prime Karen watching and altercations, work for a bridal shop. I had a lady screaming at me over the phone to the point that I had to hold the receiver away from my ear while screeching that I was "an incompetent b****". My manager came up behind me and hung up the call with his finger and said; "No one talks to my employees like that. No one. Don't worry, she'll call back and I'll take care of it." Sure enough she called back only to accuse me of hanging up. My manager lied and said; "I'm terribly sorry that you were disconnected, our phones have been on the Fritz all day, cutting out calls, we're currently waiting on the phone company to get the matter fixed." And he winked at me and continued on the conversation. I loved my manager, he was the best!
That woman screaming at the cop is so lucky. We have all seen the stories of cops killing people for far less. She was aggressive, in his face, touched him more than once, and was a public disturbance. Instead of even arresting her, he looked like he desperately wanted to escape.

OMG! When my neighbor moved in and had me blocked into my parking spot so I couldn't leave for work...I asked her politely to move so I could leave and she told me she couldn't move. I had to Uber to work. She brought a cake later that no one in the apartment could eat so I politely said no thank you. That was the beginning of her being a worse and worse Karen.

A Karen in her natural habitat is one of the world's scariest yet least effective predators. Capable of scaring but not harming even the mightiest of foes in most cases.
This whole Karen thing has made it a problem to ask anything. I asked a question about a bill at a nail salon, because I was charged more than I was quoted. All I wanted was to understand the charges, so I’d know for next time. I completely polite, I swear. Instead of listening to my question, the employee just started handing me money so I’d go away. I didn’t want money, and I didn’t take it. I left, wondering what has happened to the world, that you can’t politely ask a question without being treated like you’re a jerk. The pendulum has swung too far 😂
Omg this happened to me too at McDonald’s. They forgot a small fry and the lady was handed like 4 apple pies and saying sorry way way too many times. It was insane!
That scenario, if as described, would not fall under being the Karen. Going to the manager or disputing a bill is not what makes one a Karen. It's the disrespect, violence, screaming, and tantrums.
18 years ago, I found a 20 acre piece of mountain property near Palm Springs. The view is magnificent from up here, especially the lights below at night. It had no house or utilities, so I bought a 9 kw off-grid solar power equipment system and a manufactured home that was brought in 3 pieces by truck. It took 2 years for us to get everything done before we could move here. It is so peaceful here. Before moving here, we lived in the barrio where gang activity was so out of control that we could no longer get a pizza delivered to our house in a cul de sac! The road on the other side of our backyard wall was a 1/4 mile straightaway, so street racers gathered every night. Screeching tires, loud hip hop, and often gunfire all night. If police actually showed up, the gangbangers would just come back 20 minutes later. I hated it! Now I'm 3 miles from the nearest paved road, and my nearest neighbor is about a mile and a half from me. No more screeching tires! It's challenging and even dangerous to live out here, but I never want to go back to city living.
My parents live in an HOA, my mom keeps their house tidy and nice looking from top to bottom. Like legit a magazine cover ever since I was little, tithe point that my dads favorite story from when they met was they were watching a movie and my dad got up which “messed up” the vacuum lines so my mom paused the movie and fixed it. (We suspect she might literally have ocd cause everything has to be in place always) The across the street neighbors have complained about anything they could think of, including they could see like an inch of the recycling bin sticking out from behind the fence because my Down syndrome brother didn’t push it all the way back out of view one time 😐
I was at the grocery store with my autistic son once when we encountered a Karen screaming at an employee about i don't know what.

Someone needs to tell the first Karen that citizens' arrest is only valid if the person they are detaining ACTUALLY BROKE THE LAW!!!!
Absolutely.
Not in every state.
Some states there is no statutory citizens arrest due to good samaritan laws.
Women like that are what pepper spray was made for.
I was a manager and I fully agree with your statement, helping people is the best thing we can do 😊
I remember at a local restaurant, an older gentleman asked to speak with the manager about that table’s server. Poor girl was terrified.
It was so the man could compliment her! That she was friendly, helpful, and she was a delight to meet. The next time the family came in, they requested her zone.
Well, that activated my social anxiety. People yelling actually give me a panic attack. Even if yelling is not directed at me.
Yes!! Agreed
She seems like someone who would snitch to the HOA.
Bless his heart and yours, hope you're doing better now xx
I hate it when people use that "it brings the property value down" excuse. It's not like they're selling their house that very week, is it?

Not everyone who speaks to a manager is a Karen, but every Karen has or will speak to a manager.
It is very stressful for a person named Karen to speak up about legitimate problems nowadays.
Remember not everyone is trained on dealing with karens, managers are trained specifically too.......That's scary.
I bring nothing to those who can fight karens.

At least she's not leaching from her mother."
Silent, shock, then laugh.

What bothers me is that people are not calling police on folks that are either actively assaulting them or damaging property.
Yeah. So many of these videos featured individuals committing various crimes. Calling the cops and saying you want to press charges can sometimes result in a very real and humbling experience for them!
For those whom it is not, they usually manage to self-humble when they get additional charges because they try to Karen the officers too.
Right? Water hose Karen and road rage Karen both committed crimes and should at the very least get fined!
The Karens act like they do because they know there are little or no consequences.
It takes at least 15 minutes for cops to respond to most calls. The bigger question is why aren't people carrying pepper spray or other self defense tools
@@cloudian159FAAAAAAACTS! Plus they talk to _______ much by engaging those people!
Road rage Karen (and to a lesser extent the other car) angered me so much because they could have injured innocent bystanders so easily. Someone crossing in a crosswalk, a child crossing the street, a tragedy could very easily happen. No perceived slight is worth that energy, that anger, that risk.

He could NOT comprehend that people didn't have to sit there and listen to him berate them. i asked for a manager once - to praise the employee who had helped me and my friend - i have mobility issues and the employee was super nice, helped us find what we were looking for - the manager looked like he didn't know how to react. shame that they are so used to complaints that praise is so rare.
I can confirm that where I work, the people who are nice to the managers get their way much faster and more consistently than the rude customers.
Karen has two choices - either let the person go, or explain to the police why a) she is restraining someone and threatening to sue them if they move (FYI, that won't fly in court; it's all on video and she's the aggressor); and b) explain how she's not mentally ill (by the end of this scenario, she will be screaming like the woman at the poor police officer).
yup
The problem is that most people won't call the police because they know or at least think that the police won't do anything in most cases. All the woman has to do is start the crocodile tears and she becomes the damsel in distress that society's males have been told they must placate/save. Also, they're afraid that if the police actually do take an action they themselves will have to take time off from work to deal with some aspect of it in court. In one case nothing happens and in another case they're inconvenienced more because of someone else's bad behavior. The law sure is hard on the innocents sometimes. 🤷♀️
The fact that the last woman had all of that dog poo saved up is the most alarming part.
Let's just say I wouldn't want to walk in her backyard
I have two pit bulls and my yard isn’t even that full. What is she doing over there?!? 👀
I just collect the dog shit that shitty owners leave behind on other people's property and it is likely she did that too.
Dog poo and boiling water. What a nasty, revolting woman.

Sometimes it's okay to call the manager.
contanct the tenants union or whatever in whatever state your in they can help
I think every sensible person knows the difference between needing to sort something out with the manager and being a screaming loon.

@100samanthamariein California that law would be false imprisonment, which apparently in CA can be either a misdemeanor _or_ a felony.
Sounds like Bakersfield bruh
A quick “sorry I know you are moving in but I do need to get out” would be preferable? No?
as she is a senior, he could get in trouble. its better to just call the police and have them remove the citizen.

That’s why I try to leave compliments too
Over 20 years ago I was grocery shopping with my nine year old son. He always liked helping me find things in the store, and now that I'm older and disabled I especially love having my 31 year old son shop with me.
Anyway, 20 years ago I asked him to find Ranch dressing. He noticed one bottle had a very different looking label although it was the same brand, so he looked at the expiration date, _it had expired seven years ago!_
He told me I should tell the manager, but I told him it would be better if he did, since he's the one who found it.

Like seriously why would you plant a flower bed and just have the neigbor care for it for over 18 years? honestly ? LOL
sorry so long hard to explain without pics ...i think i will be petty and get one of those huge circle arches to put between the 2 yew bushes closer to the backside of the bed that borders them and hang a whole bunch of wind chimes off of it. ...Their house is super close to the property line on that side...LOL oh and side note..suddenly the son could no longer cut our grass ...lol

We all had waters so I said, okay have a good day and we left. I wanted to cry real tears 😂
Oh wow. Being a Karen about being called out on bad behavior is never a good thing. Oh the irony of her statement.

there are few things in this world i love more than when people getting yelled at by karens just start laughing
Oh, that barista was doubled over laughing by the time the screamer left. Even the other employee couldn't keep a straight face.
Great idea
I've done this - it's always nice to hear when people have done a great job!

So yeah.
You write very well for a 5-8 year old.
@@Kayenne54 on a social rank I'm 5 due to my disabilities... But physically I'm in my20s I'm an adult hon.. Just not on a social level... If you met me you would understand... Most people don't understand I have issues until they spend like 5 minutes with me.... Then they realize yeah there's something wrong with me.
@@ZenahBevardThat must be very difficult for you, on every level. I wish you well.
@@Kayenne54 thank you❤ It does make life rather difficult especially like when I wanna date somebody you always get creeped out when they find out I have issues like that and It makes it hard to have any friends or a job Or go out anywhere or anything... So I mostly just stay at home.
1:16 this sounds like an argument between me and my three year old 😂😂
I was about to go to bed sad but NOT ANYMORE (perfect timing, Charlotte you always bring a smile to my face)
Best response my mom uses when dealing with crazy individuals like Karen’s. “Okay.” It’s simple and it irritates them to no end. 😂
10:30 I think you’ve mistaken her complaints about stomach flu; she was acting sick from the food at the restaurant to get a free meal
Trying to put on coco melon 🤣🤣🤣🤣 every parent
That woman screaming at the cop is so lucky. We have all seen the stories of cops killing people for far less. She was aggressive, in his face, touched him more than once, and was a public disturbance. Instead of even arresting her, he looked like he desperately wanted to escape.
We need a recent update on the woman who dumped dog poo all over the car, I hope she was fined a lot of money.
Yes!
I tried looking for it but I could only find Reposts. I'm so curious about the update!
@@hotspotsportal6699She was fined 1050$
A woman who poured a mixture of boiling water and dog poo on a car parked legally outside her home, has claimed she was 'set up' in a bizarre rant outside court. Leisa Wise, 55, on Thursday pleaded guilty in Toowoomba Local Court to two counts of willful damage of cars in December last year.

Next time call a tow company and have her car towed
Charlotttte!!!! 4:02 I’ve literally waited years for this moment! I literally stopped washing the dishes and quick dried my hands! This is gonna be goooooodd!!!! 😮❤
The last woman, get a high pressure hose, stand on the street, facing her garden and power hose that s*£& home baby!😂😂😂
A Karen in her natural habitat is one of the world's scariest yet least effective predators. Capable of scaring but not harming even the mightiest of foes in most cases.
I read that in David Attenborough voice. 👏🏼😂😂
Made it epicly hilarious
This whole Karen thing has made it a problem to ask anything. I asked a question about a bill at a nail salon, because I was charged more than I was quoted. All I wanted was to understand the charges, so I’d know for next time. I completely polite, I swear. Instead of listening to my question, the employee just started handing me money so I’d go away. I didn’t want money, and I didn’t take it. I left, wondering what has happened to the world, that you can’t politely ask a question without being treated like you’re a jerk. The pendulum has swung too far 😂
Should have just taken the money if you felt you were overcharged instead of leaving confused
They probably saw that you got over charged and gave you the money back. I would've taken the cash
I didn’t care about the money. And I wouldn’t have had to leave confused if he had been polite enough to answer my question.
I seriously feel for the people who buy houses and then have to deal with their neighbors being wretched unreasonable human beings
