Today we are having an apartment tour in Conchas Chinas neighbourhood. It is a one bedroom apartment with an extra bed, pool, palapa, and a great common area. The apartment is located walking distance to the beach. Conchas Chinas is a very prestigious area in Puerto Vallarta, and it is located about 40 minutes drive from the airport and situated uphill, so it has a spectacular view of the Banderas Bay. To go grocery shopping you have to use a taxi or bus, also Zone Romantica with that gorgeous night life is about 15 minutes drive from the location.
What are your thoughts about this apartment? Leave me your comments!

Thanks Larissa, that one looked a bit run down with the peeling paint in the bathroom. I find it's always hard to tell from airbnb listings. I was in Mexico City in October and my bnb was a great and friendly host but the place was quite run down. The year before I went to PV and the view was incredible from my place, but every night and all night was dogs barking and howling and then as soon as it became a little bit light it was the roosters crowing. I had it for 5 nights and I was a bit of a wreck by the time I moved on. I had one night in a hotel in PV before flying home and there was 3 smoke alarms in the corridors that had low batteries and so they 'beep' at 30 second intervals. I asked the reception to fix them, they said they would but never did. I got some kind of food poisoning issues and I was glad to fly back to Vancouver.

My dear Larissa, I live in NYC, no balcony, no views, 2 miles from the nearest grocery store, no beach for over 50 miles and I pay for this horrendous RAT-HOLE apartment close to $2000!! I am close to retirement from my miserable (life-sentence) job.
I would LOVE to retire in Mexico, perhaps we can be friends...?
I like Guanajuato because it looks like an Italian-fairy book village...
Perhaps you can make a video describing Guanajuato; evidently lots of Americans recently discovered this town.
Stay Safe and GOD continue to BLESS YOU!

Thanks for the videos on Apartments in PV. I know these areas very well. The place you show seem a bit small and cramped and the pools are all so tiny - really, I'd love a lap pool and more space. I have two dogs and we love our dogs - well behaved. One dog is a PV Street dog that found me and she's living the dream life, but is always following me around. We usually stay in the Romantic Zone at a condo - friends usually know something that's avail., but we need a patio or area for the dogs, too. Maybe we would rent a house with a yard in one of the colonias.

I agree the apartment is pretty basic and could use some refreshing touch. the rest of the property seems very nice and to have access to a pool is a bonus. you make a good point about this location being on the hillside... really you need a car or to take a taxi a lot to go to the beach or get groceries if you want to love here. as for the beach being small and rocky, it is easy once you are down there to walk along the shore to more open areas of the beach. but for the price it is worth it. last March when my family came to visit we stayed in The Grand Miramar at the top of the hill in Conchas Chinas... was probably the most amazing location I have ever stayed in. it was fun taking taxis up and down the hill! if you dont know this property you should check it out!

The apartment does look dated but the pool area is very nice. Great views.Great price. I don't mind walking everywhere and would consider it for maybe 2wks. Too far from everything thus you would be taking many buses in busy traffic to go to other places like Sayulita, Punta de Mita, etc Txs for showing it. I live on Van Island.

Hi Larissa. Pat here I taught Dancefit 55+ at Guildford Surrey BC. Remember me? I love watching your videos 👍It seems pretty safe to fly from YVR now as far as vaccine status goes. We refuse vaccinations. So I was thinking it would be cool to come to PV and rent a place for one month. We have only experienced all inclusives. So this would be totally new to us. It is just a thought right now. Not sure when we would could get away. I would like to know your thoughts and ideas? Keep up the good work!!

Hi Pat ! Of course I remember you ,:) good for you Pat you stand up for yourself !!!!
I really suggest you to come to PV and spend some time here and see if you like it. November to March is high season but still you can find a place for rent , all depends on your preferences and budget. I am ready happy I moved to Mexico. Thank you Pat for following my channel, hope to see you here soon 😍

I'm not on facebook and I really don't want to be, so those ads in facebook marketplace are not available to me. Plus I fear they may be geared more towards the gringo crowd, is that correct? If you say it's worthwhile to look there for rental ads, then that's what I'll do I guess.
Before I do that, can you suggest other websites I can visit? Perhaps one or two that do not cater to the gringo crowd? I speak Spanish and my parents were both born in Mexico and as a Mexican American I think I can get by just fine in the less than touristy areas. I still need to work my remote job so a good strong reliable internet connection is my only true requirement (aside from relative safety), for almost everything else I'm willing to be flexible.
Thanks for your videos, they are always helpful.

Thanks Ernesto. I prefer Facebook Marketplace but there are many other ways to find the rental, including Mano a Mano and Craigslist. Good luck with your search!

Never go through a private rental on FB groups unless you know its safe. They are usually the scammers. Go through a rental agency or realitor.

I love your videos! You are my role model. Like you, I am a 62-year-old active woman. I am from Lake Tahoe, Reno, Nevada area (Sierra mountains) and have grown tired of cold weather and snow. I'm seriously considering moving to Puerto Vallarta to retire within the next few months. I'm going to be in PV staying at an airbnb at the end of January for a couple weeks. Would you be available to show me around? I have traveled quite a bit over the years to Mexico, but have only been to PV once, and I fell in love with it. I hope you will respond to this message and if so, maybe we can get each other's email or private message on WhatsApp?? Thank you so much, Larissa! I hope to hear from you soon. Wendy.

Wendy, unfortunately I don’t have time to meet with people personally, I have business, family and my day is very busy. I am sure you will be fine in PV . Connect with likeminded people on Facebook and you will have friends upon arrival, and go from there. We might bump into each other on the streets of PV , that happens to me all the time . I hope you understand. Have a nice vacation and hopefully you will move to mexico soon to live Your Best Life!!!
