    So your going to join the rest of us going down the rabbit hole . Soon you'll be a Home Fry. It depends on the song as to who will sing the lead. They are all lead singers. Each one could go out on their own and have a great career. And singing together they complement each other. Together they are the best band that I have heard. Maybe it's because you hear every voice and there's no musical instruments in the way of thier singing. PLUS and it's a big plus, when you go to one of their concerts you also get a good show. They interact with the audience and everyone claps, yeals, laughs and has fun. Then theres story time with Tim. lol These guys are all best friends and their fans love them and the band shows that they love their fans. Its a great community.

    Deep voice is Tim Foust, 5-octave range. There is no lead vocalist in this group. They decide who has the right voice for a particular song and that person takes the lead. Austin Brown took the lead on this. If you want to hear more of just him, try When a Man Loves a Woman. More of just Tim Foust, try Brother in Arms. Glad you're enjoying Home Free. They're great!

    On the still from the video, left front is Rob “The Beard” Lundquist, tenor with a smooth, versatile maturity. To see him really show what he has, try End of the Road and One Man Band. Left back is baritone Adam Chance, just called Chance usually, who can take bass when needed. He did the mouth harp on this. Helplessly Hoping, Winter Song, and One Man Band show his talents off. Center front is high tenor Austin Brown. His voice has matured a lot since the group began. A good early song is Ring of Fire, and an awesome later song, When a Man Loves a Woman, will knock your socks off. Back right is founding member, beatboxer and freak of nature Adam Rupp. Check out one of his drum solos, live, and his arrangement of Do You Hear What I Hear. Last, and certainly not least, is Tim Foust, basso profundo with a 5+ octave range, and apparently part dragon. His collaboration with Peter Hollands, Misty Mountain, is a must-see. How Great Thou Art and Brothers in Arms will showcase their ability to blend. To see their funny side, Sea Shanty, All About the Bass and Butts Remix. Don’t watch Mayday until you’re familiar with the group and know their usual roles! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! It’s pretty deep, but you’ll never want to escape. If you react to Home Free, the Home Fries will come in droves!

    Home Free is the real deal. They won the NBC show the Sing Off in 2013 the season after Pentatonix won. They have no lead singer. They choose a lead depending on the song. Tim Foust is the bass and he has a 5 octave range meaning he can sing super low and sing up in the tenor range. Austin Brown, lead here, is the high tenor. Rob Lundquist, tenor, is an amazing singer (glasses). Adam Chance (we call him Chance) is the baritone/bass. He was in the back with the beatboxer. Adam Rupp is the amazing beatboxer. He can do drums, harmonica, bugs, all manner of sounds. The group calls him a “Freak of Nature”. They sing a lot of covers but also write and sing their own songs. They are known for their amazing harmonies. Try Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, One Man Band, I Can’t Outrun You. They also have a great sense of humor. Good reaction Salvo.

    The people
    Front row, left to right
    Rob Lundquest (beard & glasses), angelic tenor.
    Austin Brown (first singer), high tenor.
    Tim Foust, basso profundo with a 5+ octave range.
    Back row, left to right
    Adam Chance, called Chance, tenor, baritone and bass with a 4-octave range (he did the jaw harp sound).
    Adam Rupp, co-founder of Home Free, Freak of Nature, beatboxer, inventor of the nomonica (the non-existent harmonica), tenor.

  • @sp72929
    @sp72929 2 года назад +21

    There is a reason why their beat boxer - Adam Rupp - is called "freak of nature" or "living drumkit", he is in a league of his own. And Tim Foust - to hear a bass like him is extremely rare especially considering the fact he can sing up to a high tenor. There are four stellar lead singers in this group and whoever fits the song best takes the lead and their harmonies are as tight as you can get. They never disappoint, it's usually hard to remember there are no instruments involved.

    If you're truly a fan, then you're now a part of a group of who refer to themselves as "Home Fries".
    Not knowing you're tastes in music, you might find their "Country Fried Pop Medley" enjoyable. It's a mash-up of top 40 hits from circa 2014. It's clever and fun (kinda like the "Butts Medley" you already reacted to).
    In my opinion, their collaboration with Lee Greenwood on his "God Bless the USA" cover is amazing. It's very stirring and includes the vocals of some incredibly talented airmen from the US Air Force. Also an incredible performance by their beat boxer, Adam Rupp.

    Glad you enjoyed this very talented group. This is one of the best acapella groups out there. Starting front row left - tenor Ron Lundquist -Minnesota. Front row center - tenor Austin Brown , Georgia. Front row right - Bass Tim Foust , Texas. Back row left - Baritone Adam Chance (goes by Chance) Alabama . Back row right - Beatboxer Adam Rupp, Minnesota.
    Adam Rupp and his brother Chris started Home Free. Chris left in 2016 and was replaced by Adam Chance. If you react to pre2017 video Chris almost always wore some kind of hat. Adam Rupp is a world class beatboxer and has his own “drum solo videos” on RUclips. Since your starting down this Home Free path most Home Fries (Home Free Fans) will ask you not to react to the song MAYDAY until you know the members and there roles (usually 5 or 6 songs). You just listened to one of their signature songs here are a few more of what think is their signature songs. BROTHER-IN -ARMS, TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS, WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN and UNCHAINED MELODY. You have a great day

His brother Chris used to be in the group, so some videos you see will feature him. The man in the back was Adam Chance, known to us as Chance, and he was doing the sound of the Jaw Harp in the beginning and end of the song. Adam Rupp is not an ordinary beatboxer but an inhuman mouth artist haha. But the sound of the Jawharp at the beginning and end is from Adam Chance, further referred to as Chance, who is behind left. He is a baritone but sometimes also the bass. The deep bass is Tim Foust, who can also be a Tenor by the way. Austin Brown who is in the middle is a High Tenor. He can hit really high notes and has great runs. With the beard, Rob Lundquist has a voice like velvet and so much soul. The best part is that they don't have a permanent lead singer. They look for each song which voice fits best. They all have a great voice, even the beatboxer. The harmonies, the great backgrounds, the inhuman mouth sounds, the runs, each have their specialities, not having any Egos, no rivalries, the fun together etc. makes the whole just perfect.

    I found these guys last year. This was the first song I ever heard from them & I was instantly hooked. The talent of these 5 men is insane. Together they are a perfect fit & complement each other so well. Tim Foust is the best bass singer in the business & Adam Rupp their beatboxer extraordinaire can make any sounds & is in a class by himself. They lean towards country but can sing any genre. They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

    The guy you were unsure of in the back is Adam Chance -- besides singing baritone on this one, he was also doing the mouth harp sound at the beginning and end of the song. They all do some beat boxing, but the other Adam -- Adam Rupp -- is their main "percussionist" and was doing the "harmonica" throughout. There are some RUclips videos of him doing a "drum solo" that are phenomenal.

    They don't really have a lead, they all sing lead at one time or another except for Adam Rupp the beatboxer. He does sing, just mainly in harmony with the others or maybe a line or two here and there, rarely. One of my favorites that I think doesn't get as much attention as it deserves is One Man Band. I'm also partial to Brothers In Arms these days.

  • @leadabo
    @leadabo 2 года назад

    I have learned with this band, ironically is, that the one you don’t seem to be “hearing the most of” in a particular song is the one who’s turn it is to “lay it down” and “hold it all together” in conjunction with Adam Rupp’s percussion. This is what gives their sound that rich fullness that we all enjoy so much. In this song it is (Adam) Chance(silky smooth baritone/bass) doing the “jaw harp” sound and musical “glue” 👍🏼

  • @cavamom
    @cavamom 2 года назад +10

    Depending on the song, the lead may be done by any of the four singers. Each one has a distinctively different voice and each have a different range. I think this is what gives them such a full, rich and unique sound. Tim Foust is basso perfundo who can also sing tenor. Adam Chance "Chance" is a baratone but can cover for Tim as bass. Rob Lundquist sings tenor and Austin Brown sings counter tenor. Together they create magic. Then there's Adam Rupp the beatboxer/percussionist/vocal instrumentalist....he's a whole other kind of wicked good.

    Home Free is outstanding. They and Pentatonix are the "Gold Standard" of acapella. Both groups have 5 members who are each superb individually with distinctive voices and talents, and when working together take it to a whole new level.
    The beatboxer, Adam Rupp is absolutely world class. There are videos of him doing a solo bit during a break in their concerts with a "drum solo" that will absolutely blow your mind. I'm pretty sure that Tim Foust's low end vocals register on the Richter scale.

    Loved your reaction! Tim Foust Bass man and Chance the less seen member in this one, are highly featured in Hillbilly Bone (super funl and Brothers in Arms. (Super serious). They cover the whole spectrum of ranges and emotions just pick your choice of any song. They have a brand new one coming out tomorrow at 1pm in case you want to catch the premiere.

    Home Free is the best--period. They are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle just about any other genre amazingly!!

    Th harmonica sounds that Adam Rupp(best boxer) was doing, Austin Brown ( the guy you called the lead singer) can also do it. I saw him do it live a couple weeks ago when I went and saw them. Tim is an amazing bass. Rob (beard) amazing Tenor) and Adam Chance( made some of the cool sounds in this one) like the very first sound u heard.

    Loved your reaction & so glad you liked this! It's had 16 million views just on their channel. There's no telling how many millions of views it's had on all the reaction channels! This was the first Home Free video I ever watched about 3 years ago & I was amazed & hooked! These guys are incredibly talented but they're also humble, down to earth, generous & even when they're goofy (like in Butts Medley) their vocal talent never suffers! Welcome to the "Home Fry" family!😊

    i think they dont have a lead vocalist position in the group they just go by the voice that suit the song most
    -- Brothers in arms ( lead taken by Tim Foust bass of the group )
    -- when a man loves women ( lead taken by austin brown high tenor of the group )
    -- end of the road ( lead taken by Rob lead tenor of the group )
    -- I cant outrun you ( lead taken by Adam chance Baritone of the group )
    -- adam rupp is the beatboxer of the group ( drum solo by adam ruclips.net/video/EanKWLUaDpg/видео.html )

    They all take the lead on different songs, except for the beatboxer (Adam Rupp-the freak of nature). You could check out one of his "drum solo's",
    My favorite with Adam Chance or Chance as we call him (brown vest) in the lead is their cover of Ed Sheeren's "Castle On The Hill" or their original "Dive Bar Saints", both great songs. Although you'd be hard pressed to find a bad performance from any of them though.
    Oh and welcome to the Home Fries

    As you progress in your Home Free journey, you will figure out this group doesn't really have a lead vocalist. Whoever is the right fit for a particular song or a particular part in a song is who takes the lead. On a few rare songs, that's only one person, but mostly they share the lead back and forth between them. Even the percussionist sings along on a few songs and they all are able to do some beatboxing. There's a video out there of them in concert have a beatbox relay between all of them. There's also a beatbox solo: ruclips.net/video/EanKWLUaDpg/видео.html Since you marveled at the bass, would also love to hear your reaction to one of their newer ones - "Brothers in Arms": ruclips.net/video/_ChD2WjD2tY/видео.html And another recent great one is "Unchained Melody" where they go back to the original meaning of the song: ruclips.net/video/TOsP0oBLkto/видео.html

      Adam Rupp THE beat boxer is in a league of his own. He is insanely talented and skilled and if you check out his drum solo from 2015 (red shirt) I guarantee it will blow your mind. There are newer videos out there, as well and he has only gotten better over time. He has been perfecting his skills for 20 years and it shows.

    Chance (Adam Chance) is the baritone who did not have a prominent part this time during the meat of the song, was doing the Juice Harp sound on the intro at the very beginning of the song and the trailer at the exit of the video as we go past the alligator for the last time. All of the members can do beat boxing, but the designated beat boxer is Adam Rupp, one of the founders of the band. Deep bass is Tim Foust known for carrying the lead as Tenor, Baritone, or Bass with his 5 octave range. Austin Brown is the first lead in this and Rob Lundquist (the great bearded one) is the second lead. Both Rob and Austin are tenors, Austin having a bit higher range. All of the vocalists take lead in different songs. They match the best voice for different styles of songs. They do music in just about every genre. Enjoy the journey!

    The one you didn't think was doing much was the first voice you heard. He was doing the jaw harp sound at the beginning and the end (in addition to singing harmony). It's funny how so few people pick up on that. We see him at the end when the only sound still happening is the jaw harp sound and his mouth is moving in perfect sync to it. HaHaHa

    Tim is the super deep bass guy. Adam is the beatboxer, The lead with the hat is Austin, their high tenor, Rob is their lower tenor, with glasses, The guy in back beside the beatboxer is Chance and he did the intro and outro twang mouth harp sound. He is their baritone but is also a bass. They all can sing a good lead and sometimes they switch leads in songs.

    Home Free is a great group of guys who are not all about themselves but all about the music and their fans. They will decide who sings the song best and that will be the one who takes the lead. Others have given the info on who is who, but some of the songs you will find Tim the bass man with short and a little gray hair. He did that during the pandemic. Just an fyi. Great reaction, Thanks.

    Adam Chance (your man #5) here, sings /vocalizes the very interesting "Jews Harp" sound you hear from the beginning to end. (The 'doyng doyng-a-doyng doyng' sound) He is also a bass just not quite as low as Tim, but Tim is teaching him the same skill, so it is exciting to watch Chance's progress.
    I am a Home Fry thru and thru forever!!!

    Home Free is the cream of the crop as far as I'm concerned. Totally addicted to them. I can never get enough of their music. Home Free doesn't really have one lead singer. Whoever's voice will serve the music best does lead. Every one of Home Free are ridiculously talented. Adam Rupp is the world class beat boxer doing the percussion and "no-monica". The guy in back with orangish hat is Adam Chance (referred to as Chance) is the baritone/auxiliary bass. He was doing the jaw harp sound. Tim Foust is the super bass with a ridiculous range. Glasses and beard is Rob Lundquist, the lower tenor with a voice like smooth, sweet caramel with some soul thrown in. The guy in front who started off the song is Austin Brown, the sky high tenor with a voice strong enough to bend steel. The four vocalists can beat box a little, as well and Adam Rupp sings some, but isn't vocally trained so sticks mostly to occasional harmonies and small solo bits. None of their songs will disappoint. Some of my favorites are "Blue Ain't Your Color, Folsom Prison Blues, Moonshine.

    As the old saying goes "you ain't seen nothin' yet." These guys are AMAZING. They take turns with the lead depends on the song and who they think is best for the lead. Adam Rupp, no words to describe the heights and depths he reaches with his beat boxing/voice instrumentals. Their range of genres is endless. 1. "Working For A Living" Huey Lewis cover. 2. "American Pie" done with original singer/song writer the Iconic Don McLean. 3. "Brothers In Arms" a Dire Straits cover. 4. "Helplessly Hoping" a Corsby Stills and Nash cover. 5. "End Of The Road" a Boyz to Men" Cover. 6. "May Day" (might want to wait until you're more familiar with who sings what before you listen to this) and last but certainly not the least, their latest release "Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up" a Garth Brookes Cover. Loved your reaction, subbed and looking forward to more. My apologies for the eye strain from this long winded missive , when it comes to Home Free I get carried away.

    First time watching you react to Home Free. So here's the break down. The problem was Austin Brown, the deep Bass was Tim Foust, percussion is Adam Rupp (he and his brother started the group originally and also sings tenor), the guy "who didn't do much"...lol is Adam Chance (goes by Chance so not to get confused) he is the one that made the Jews Harp sounds at the beginning and the end and he is a bass as well. The "bearded dude" is Rob Lundquist and he is a Tenor. Home Fries are the groupies (fans) and you have just found a rabbit hole that you should continue to go down. These guys are hot all over the world and totally everything you hear is their voices. There is no lead in the group as they see who has the right sound to fit the song. You can't go wrong with ANY of their covers. Try Hopelessly Helping, Brothers In Arms or In the Blood and they just dropped a new video on Friday the 18th called Ain't Going Down til the Sun Comes Up.
