Grandma Lolly needs her own channel where she just stands around and tells her kids how they should do stuff. ❤
Ben’s wife is a keeper and such a joy to watch! Love grandma Lollys family! Grandma wasn’t born yesterday!
The point at whch Ben turned around, about to tell Mom to "Shut the HELL UP" when he saw the camera....Priceless!
Yea he would not have said that to his mom
I think it might have been closer to “excuse me?!?!” 😂
Us older generations know all you can get by with is the look, because if you were dumb enough to say it, you'd be pooping in a grocery sack the rest of the week to retrieve your teeth.
That wasn't ben's mom that was paul's mom from fabrats So why didn't we see Fabrats It looks like Ben and paul might be argui'm sorry to hear that Ben I hope paul and ben are okay in their personal relationship, but it doesn't look that way
They're brothers.That's Both of their's Mom.It's over 3 hours 1-way between Paul and Ben's and he was staying 3 days at a time there.He decided he was needed at home full time.There wasn't 'bad blood',just a choice,from what they've both said.@@peterson0096
If Ben hates sheetrock wait til he has to tape and mud it😁😁. You guys are doing a great job, just remember slow and steady wins the race.
Productive, because your open and teachable. Your attitude about what doesn't work and has to be redone is priceless. The fact that your building this for your family is amazing. Thank you for being vulnerable and a go getter all in the same moment. So glad you decided to run your own channel.
My husband was a sheet rocker for about 25 years. He said your doing a "Damn Good Job". We Love the videos.👍
I'm here to tell ya! Your best teachers are your parents! I always said theres no better way of learning than hands on teaching! Following your Father gave you just that! A lot of men are Jack's of all trades and masters of none! Look at what you all have accomplished so far, building your forever home is no small task! It looks like it's been built by a home building contractor! You and Ben are very smart and your kids are kids to be very proud of, who go to school and when at home partisapate in all the tasks involved in making a homestead keep up and running, with the help from their hands on parenting from Mom & Dad! Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next. 😊
Marie you are a great carpenter don't cut yourself down can't wait to see the house when it's done and Ben your not bad either lol love you guys and your channel ❤️
Just don't talk so much. More doing, less yapping
I'll say a big, AMEN, to that. 🇺🇸
@@tomowens2720 It's a bit hard to make a video without talking, how about you show us how to do it.
You do an amazing job. You're not only a mother, a contractor a worker and a wife. I give many kudos to you, There are few women out there that take on the responsibility that you have done. Thank you for sharing your expertise. Your father taught you well!❤😊
🤣🤣🤣
I really like seeing a family work together.
Love Ben so glad he is getting around to his Jeep
Who knew that you were not a builder!! Y’all are doing great at this!! Keep making videos!!
I sure hope Ben knows how lucky he is.
Great video, thanks for sharing your time.
You're into the long, tedious work where you don't see a whole lot of progress. So, hang in there! A few tips you can use if you are inclined: run 1X4s stripping on the ceiling to level out the ceiling and keep the joists secure(your ceiling will be waving at you for decades to come), price out a contractor to hang and float the sheet rock(money well spent and frustration averted), wait as long as you can to do the floors(mud and debris will get all over it even if it's covered). Keep your head up it will be worth it in the end! Love you guys. Keep the videos coming!👍
You guys are making progress!!!!
You’ll be living in there B 4 you know it
Nice job all the way around. Great family. You go Marie!
It's great to see grandma Lolly on your blog. 😊
You all are definitely old school do your self'ers. The money your saving. Let that be your focus😅
It may be a slow process but, you guys are doing a great job.😊. Loving your channel.
Marie keep up the good work ❤
God bless to your family, keep up the work.❤
Your home is coming along nicely. Mistakes are a way of learning, don't allow it to get you down. You a brave person for doing this. Well done 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤. As for your family, they a credit to you and Ben. God bless you ❤
So are they building this house for themselves or for her mom??
Poor old Ben seemed tired and subdued in this episode.Any builders out there to help them get the house done quicker, burning the candle both ends comes to mind🤕😊
Love conquers all. And your family exhibits lots of love. Thanks for being role models for everyone to see.
I have a feeling there are many dreams at night about the competition of the house. All of your hard work on it has been amazing. We have enjoyed the journey with you.
I was bummed when ben left fabrats shop but love your channel too thanks for bringing us along
I searched you out just to watch the progress. Great work -keep the chins up, and keep up the AWESOME JOBS! Thanks!!!
One suggestion I wish I had done when building my house is to put some "deadmen" between some of your studs so when you have to hang things on the wall you can go in to something solid. Love your videos. Real stuff from real people.
I'm big on backing before rock. Cabinets, shower rods, towel and toilet paper holders, but most of all......upper cabinets! It sucks hanging uppers without backing
The more this old fella watches this channel. The more I love it. Ben I wish nothing but good for you and your beautiful family ❤
Making progress, have a good week and count your blessings amen.
Biggest thing that helped me on hanging drywall was watching an episode on Essential Craftsman called “Pickup Framing ep. 101”. Basically you just take an 8 foot level and check all your surfaces to be drywalled for flatness either planing down the high spots or shim the low spots. It really makes muding and taping much easier.
Content like this - and your channel in particular - highlight the traditional values of jumping in and getting stuff done yourself. All too many folks need to 'call someone' for anything that comes along. Most won't even change a tire. The traditional values y'all espouse are what makes individuals, families, communities, and nations strong.
Marie you are amazing. The star of the show for sure. What a hard worker.
I'm here for Ben only. What a great guy! Get this man a shop!
Re: cleaning the floor
There is a long handle, 6" razor blade tool available at home supply stores.
I feel the pain. I was 8 years old when it was my job to use a drywall knife to clean the concrete floors on Dad's new home builds.
Lifetime labor is a real thing!
Grandma is old school.
We used to use jacks for EVERYTHING up/over in my day. ;O)-
I am 71 and nearing completion of a master bath remodel that blew everything clear back to the studs and joists. Repiped the entire house too. Like you I am no carpenter and have no training. It has been a struggle teaching myself and working alone has its challenges too. But by doing everything two or three times it looks great and works well. I used exterior siding in the bathroom and painted it with quality exterior paint. You can drive a screw anywhere, not just at the studs. It is bright white and looks great.
It’s awesome what us older folks can learn to do and accomplish. My memory learns much slower now, the muscles aren’t as strong and take longer to recover so projects take much longer to be completed…but the satisfaction when they are done, everything works/looks good, is greater than when I was younger-like 10 years ago! 🤦🏼♀️😆👍
Marie, your Awesome! Can’t wait for the hose to be finished, Ben getting a couple of garage spaces. Ben, you have a great wife and wonderful kids🤙😎
Grandma knowledge, never fails aye Boyz ?
Seeing the house come together you must be happy and proud ,good on you for all the efforts by all ,but Marie is pretty special, she obviously listened to her Dad .

Will young lady I'm quite proud of you I'm an old construction worker I did everything you might business from plumbing to sheet rock to everything framing I have build houses you name it I built it I spend over 20 years over the road and watching you you're a amazing proud of you
Thank you! You sound a lot like my dad. I miss him.
Love your channel, you guys are so down to earth. Will be watching.
You folks sure do a great job on the building. Nice camera work as well. Thank you for sharing. Shout out to Lolly.
It seems you have a wonderful family Ben, and Marie is a talented, hardworking lady! Congratulations on your house progress. I’m enjoying watching the build.
Looking reasonably good! Just an FYI, on your pocket doors, depending on brand, once the sheetrock is up, you'll never be able to readjust the rear trolley. So, adjust it as high as you need, but loc-tite the threads. Have had two drop off here, 1 I could reattach, the other has to have cabinets removed prior to the wallboard, just to get to the trolley... Back decades ago, we would just put a dimple in the threads with a punch... Good luck, its a long trail till furniture, lol! Thanx !
Should have listened to grandma lolly ! 😂
You can save your knees and back a bit by using a couple of automotive hose clamps to attach the putty knife to a spare wooden broom handle or painters pole. Better is to get an offset putty knife with a broom socket in its handle however to save a trip, etc a couple of old hose clamps and the broom handle will do just fine.
Be sure to maintain about a 1/2 inch gap between your sheet rock and the floor so minor water events won't immediately wick up the sheet rock and start damaging it. The cutouts from the electrical boxes work just fine as shims to set your gaps.
I'm all for using up the old nails and such however on corners and anywhere that stress can be a factor you might want to consider using lathers ring shank nails since they will be less likely to pop through the joint compound. The ring shanks grip just about as good as the screws too.
Best!
Jon O. here in Idaho.... I started hanging drywall in 1973.... I say that to qualify my next statement guys.... green board isn't rated to hang on the ceiling ... walls only technically... so....... double or triple your screw pattern on the ceilings.... they won't wind up on the floor at some point that way.... love ya'll ... you're doing a great job... I wish I could be there to sling mud with you !
The fact that you have done so much work mostly by yourself is amazing. Your doing great. And even carpenters make mistakes. So dont worry. Look forward to more progress.
That shower is amazing. Great work.
House is coming along nicely and looking great. Good job.
Good day all, so as always, what a fantastic video. A little bit of everything. Unlike another channel. Fantastic video.
Hey I had 6 sisters and was the only brother. That's a huge job but looks really good! Growing up we had a vacation cabin in the mountains. Every vacation we would go up there and do some sort of modification to it. My specialty turned out to be roofing with cedar shingles. Everyone in the family would find something they could do (or stay out of the way for the little ones). As a teenager I would have rather been with friends but now looking back they were great memories.
Awesome progress!
Auto to home remodel, great show. Thank you
Great video keep up the good work and God bless from GA stay safe
This brought back memories of our DIY house build. (ICF exterior walls too). It is all looking good. It will be nice to see it progress.
Way to go, great job working together you all. If I knew you were ready to install drywall I would have told you to buy a Senco Duraspin screw gun, corded or cordless. A must have, worth every penny. Works on backerboard with the correct screws as well. Keep up the good work and thanks for taking the time to post for us all. For future information make sure to use epoxy screws under tile or any wet area or they can rust.
Great progress on the house ! Wow ! Thanks for sharing !
Awesome content as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
You had me scratching my head when you talked about sheet rock, never heard of it, googled it we call it plaster board, lol.
Love the videos.
Hi MOM ❤. You have two good boys...✌️
Thanks for your time making the video watching from Reno NV
Everything is looking great!
A friend of mine is a drywaller told me never to screw the edges of drywall always nail them. When you screw the edges it causes the drywall to crack inside which will cause separation later. it's okay to use screws on the rest of the sheet but just not around the edges. But make sure you using a drywall bit to install the screws.
Your work is awesome!!!!
I taught myself how to remodel houses 30 years ago. Probably done 120 since then. Just go to anything you don't know how to do and you will figure it out.
I love watching you guys build as a family.

Awesome to watch the house come along look forward to more progress on that
I have been in this business for around 33 years, I’ve never seen this Apoxsee flooring. I am really intrigued. I think I like this I will have to check in on the cost.
Marie is a hard working woman! It will all be worth it when it’s finished!
Ben is lucky to have you as a Wife...
Amazing the work you can do,seems you have a bit of knowledge on everything (more than most people) Very good job!! I will be watching the process of this house build, just think the more you work the quicker it will get done :)
Looking good, keep on doing what you're doing!
I love your channel! God bless you all and hang in there like fuzz on a sucker!
Marie im really impressed by your knowledge and work drive. Wow! You go girl. 😊😊
What a capable lady!
Most men can't throw up sticks or furr a wall 👏
One thing I learned from running a roll back was a tire that doesn't spin will drag straight. I stuck lug wrenches through wheels to stop them from turning when wheels didn't go straight. You had the wrong ramps for the job a piece of plywood under the tires would have helped
great job again.
everyone does things differently in the south we put 30# felt behind the sheetrock in showers as one added layer of defense from leaks. we also let the shower pan go under the seat again as another layer of defense for leaks.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you all guys and girls, good work 👍😁.
Where do you go when you need help, family.❤
