GREAT shots of Ananda and Aorn! Wow, he's really shot up in height and is very stable walking now. Must be liberating for Aorn to not carry him while you film lol....Everyone always looks so happy. I love it when you show the food and taste what you bought. That orangy cow lung or bucket thingy did not look appetizing at all haha...it looked very tough and you said it was 'like cloth'...I think that's the first thing that didn't look good ;-). EVER lol Everything else looked soooo good, especially the fruits. Thanks for another great vid. Stay safe
Yes, he certainly gets around now! The broken bucket/cow lung pancake is different to the one I bought. It is much tastier and softer. Yes, there is definitely no shortage of delicious looking food here! Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you're staying warm :)
Thank you, really enjoyed this, as usual. So many different foods available and most look yummy. It's fun watching your son growing so quickly, it seems and he's quite an eater...Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks for remembering me and the beef. My wife told me when we go Im on a beef ban. Good luck for her. Lovely to see the family with you again your boy is growing up pretty fast. Anyway your home town had no power for the whole state we just being hit by the storm now but its weakened before it got here. All the best for you and the family . Greg
No worries :). It was actually much better than I thought it would be, and for 30 baht! Yes, I heard about the storm in SA. Hope it didn't cause you any problems. All the best to you and the family too!
Great vlog again mate. Good to see Auorn and Anando looking so healthy and happy . How about a challenge mate ?. Find the best Thai red curry and penang gai in Patong and Krabi ? . My choice for red curry is Sabai Sabai in Patong and best penang gai on earth was that restaurant you took Vanessa and I to I Krabi !!
Thanks Trev! That sounds like a good challenge, I'll have to start hunting. We'll be sure to check out Sabai Sabai next time we're in Patong and I am planning to feature that restaurant in Ao Nang (Ton Ma Yom) in a couple of videos in the near future. I hope you and Vanessa are staying dry down there in Adelaide!
The market is in Klong Muang, next to the only traffic lights in the town. The Google Maps coordinates are: 8.05270 98.76243. It is open every Sunday from about 3pm till 7pm.
Hi Darren! Thank you for the videos. Gives you a hint of what to expect. We are going to Krabi next March and we are staying in Klong Muang so we will definitely try to visit the market. A question for you. If you could help. We are trying to figure out how to commute between Klong Muang and Ao Nang. Any suggestions?
Hi Ricardo, Unfortunately there is no public transport to commute between Klong Muang and Ao Nang. Taxis and tuk tuks are readily available, otherwise renting a car or motorbike (not recommended unless you’re an experienced motorbike rider) are what most people do. Also ask at your hotel, they may have a shuttle service.
Hi Darren. Thank you for the reply. I am traveling with my wife and son so a motorbike is out of the question. The hotel suggested the car rental but I honestly didn't wanted to rent. We will be doing more island hopping than land tours so the car would have very little use. I suppose that if there are tuk tuks we will go for that. Thank you again and keep publishing videos.
Fruit is very cheap compared to the U.S. Those small pineapples were only 30 cents each. Amazing. My recollection is that the Thai pineapples were sweeter than the Hawaiian ones we get here. I'm going to definitely try those again.
Missed this sort of quality and range of food when I was in Myanmar, Yangon had some but up country it was few and far between and of doubtful quality, well for my stomach. ;Loved their fish head soup though..
It's in Klong Muang, next to the only set of traffic lights in the town. It is here on Google Maps: www.google.com.au/maps/dir//6024,+Tambon+Nong+Thale,+Amphoe+Mueang+Krabi,+Chang+Wat+Krabi+81000,+Thailand/@8.0526916,98.7274643,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x3051bf44e8adf999:0x1edd2ddd552f70f1!2m2!1d98.7625698!2d8.0526931?hl=en
Hey there I have a few questions for you regarding Krabi, hope you'll be able to assist! Does Uber / Grabcar works in Krabi to avoid taxis that doesn't use the meter? And also, what's the address of this market to let the taxi driver know I f I were to take a taxi? :) thanks!!
As far as I know in Thailand Uber and Grabcar only work in Bangkok and are not in Krabi. The market is next to the only traffic lights in Klong Muang. The Google Maps coordinates are: 8.05270 98.76243 I hope that helps.
Hi Darren, I've just watched the video of you teaching in your school. Very entertaining! I'd imagined that they all sat quietly in rows repeating things by rote! I'm looking into learning Thai, and I've seen the Maanii books recommended (ruclips.net/video/69rcyMX1_ew/видео.html ). They're about 30 years old and no longer in print, but they're available as PDFs on the internet. I was wondering what the kids in your school use to learn Thai. Would you think it would be better to use more modern books, like your pupils use, or are the Maanii books still good? Thanks!
Sorry, I no longer work in in a school and I do not know what books they use and similarly I know nothing about the Maanii books. I do know a number of people who have told me they've found Benjawan Poomsan Becker's books very useful for learning Thai. I hope that helps.

Chicken frame...Is it eaten straight from the market. Or used for a stock....GREAT VIDEOS....
You could probably do either, but people seem to generally eat them as they come. Thanks a lot, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos!
where was this? Looks awesome and what time of day are they opening that market?
The market is in Klong Muang, next to the only traffic lights in the town. The Google Maps coordinates are: 8.05270 98.76243. It is open every Sunday from about 3pm till 7pm.
Nicely presented 👍🏾
Krabi and spicy food!!
Is that dango? alongside the steamed buns
No, they are Thai dim sum.
darrenb3 the ones on sticks?
The purple, sand coloured and green balls are Thai dim sum. The white things on sticks are fish balls.
Man I wish I go to Thailand and my family too. Awesomeness video.
Thanks a lot! I hope you can get here soon! All the best, Darren
Very interesting Darren 👍🏻
Thanks!

Missed this sort of quality and range of food when I was in Myanmar, Yangon had some but up country it was few and far between and of doubtful quality, well for my stomach. ;Loved their fish head soup though..
Very interesting. It is a very food-based culture here in Thailand, we're really spoiled for choice here!
Thumbs up
Thanks Adrian!
Hi Darren, really like your videos :) Hope you don't think my comment is stupid, but why you need a mask on your mouth in Thailand?
Thanks :). Many Thai people don't like their faces being in the sun, hence the mask.
Like for video .
Thanks!

Why so many muslims at the market?
This market is in a Muslim town.
OK, I wasn't aware there where so many Muslims in Thailand.
There are lots of Muslims in the south of Thailand. In the province where I live it is roughly 50% Muslims and 50% Buddhists.
