Please continue this series because you will NOT be disappointed!! The storytelling is fantastic and the animation is incredibly high quality for a tv series. You have no idea how much this show rocked the animation world when it first came out! The animators used a ton of live action reference for the show so it really feels like a cinematic live action show, but still vey stylized. It’s a masterpiece :))
Like some others have mentioned, the initial reason this show got attention is because it’s a tv series adaptation of the lore of a video game called League of Legends. The reason it’s blown up though is because nobody expected it to be as insanely good as it is, to the point where it’s higher rated than 99% of other animations out there critically.
Just a note, Vi is voiced by Hailee Steinfeld! (who was Kate Bishop and others)

5:43 The team at Riot actually hired Fortiche (The Animation Studio that worked on Arcane and a lot of other projects for the company), BECAUSE of their clever way of making the camera movement look like there was an actual person filming behind it. It's rly interesting.

The show is based on a game called League of legends, league of legends is an online game and have 160 (or something like that) playable champions, the game don't have any campaign but every champion have his lore and story about him, the Arcane have 8 champions from the game and this is like the origin story for these champions, we can see how they became the champions that we already knew in the lore, ofcourse two of the champions are our sisters Vi and Powder, I will not tell you who are the rest of the 6 champions (I will tell after you finish the season) , but I can tell you that you already met all of the champions that are in this show. And no you don't need to know anything from League of Legends to watch Arcane that's why this show is so popular beacuse it's not show only for a people who play the game and know the lore of League, it's a show for everyone. Also the show was realesed in act's, episode 1-3 were the act 1, 4-6 act 2 and 7-9 act3
Keep in mind the show was released in 3-episode arcs. Enjoy!

Yeah you just finished the setup. Next episode really "cranks it" 😂
The scene towards the end when it pans out showing the city after vi gives her motivational pep talk. Is probably one of the most impactful lil shots for me. The way powder is just looking up at vi while she’s looking out over the city. That shot hit so hard for me. Rly makes you think about some of the things you may say throughout your life and the impact of influence others may feel from it. I could relate 1000% being the younger sibling and having that same outlook towards my older brother and sense of always trying to compete and hold myself up to a bar with his older friends that was just set way to high above me due to our age gap. It’s a scene I’m sure many over look but it’s also one that holds a lot of beautify in the lil details. Which this show portrays perfecting throughout.
How did I miss the notification for this?! OMG! Lol I don't play the game and honestly just watched this because Hailee Steinfeld voiced Vi but the show was surprisingly really good. Can't wait for S2! 🔥

I'd say give it at least 4 episodes to see if you wanna watch the whole thing. I HIGHLY recommend finishing all the episodes though. It's mind blowing. You'll get to hear more of the amazing soundtrack too!

Arcane works on every level. For me I was drawn to the style and then the characters, story, filming, music and editing really make the show come together so well. You should do the whole show. It deserves to be seen by as many as possible.

FYI, while they are using arcane to refer to magic here (and it frequently is used that way), it doesn’t technically mean magic. It means “understood by few; mysterious or secret”. In real life, for example, the induction ceremonies for new members into a sorority, fraternity, or secret society might be called “arcane rituals”. So arcane is often used in fiction to refer to magic because it emphasizes that most people don’t understand it… if there is common magic, it would not be arcane.

Oh! Second comment but, fun fact. The show is 9 episodes but is split into 3 episode arcs. I’m not sure if that’ll help you figure out how you want to record or if you’ll stick with the two episodes a session but thought you’d like to know
They would most likely have given Powder a gun if they had one.
If you havnt already you will soon notice that only top-siders have guns.
Getting hold of a gun in the undercity is not really a thing.
I assume its prohibited but it could also just be a money thing.
