Very informative! Thank you so much. Im around the SLC area of Utah right now, and hoping to move to the Seattle area by the end of the year. Keep up the great videos!
I moved to this area back in 2003. It was still a great time to move out here. Not anymore. If I was in my twenties again looking for a place to move to, Seattle would not be on that list. It's too expensive. You cannot make it here with an individual salary of less than $90,000 per adult. Anything below that is unaffordable. Forget about buying a house unless your income is closer to $150,000+ per adult. It's over crowded, traffic is a nightmare, and taxes are extraordinarily high. A state income tax is just a matter of time, the politicians in Olympia are salivating at a state income tax, they already implemented a capital gains tax which is an income tax, it's just a matter of time before they expand it to all income. Property taxes are very high and increase every year. Car tabs are insanely expensive, hundreds more per year than other states. If you move to this area expect to be treated like a cash cow. City, county and state government is Marxist lunacy in progress.
It’s always so interesting hearing the different grocery stores there depending on where you live, I’m from the east coast and the only stores I knew were Safeway and Walmart lol
I came back to this video to ask this question. When you say *True Cost Of Living In Seattle* who exactly are you talking about? The low income's cost? The minimum wager's cost. The middle class cost or the rich. . . Depending on how much you make the cost may be different. . If you are poor living subsidized housing you will go places that cost less and shop at stores that do not incur much long term cost. So it would be nice to include this in a new video and talk about the different tiers of residents that are in Seattle.
Seattle USED to be affordable. I had a craftsman 2 bed/1 bath rental home in a good part of West Seattle I paid $230K for back in 2008, and a 3 bedroom/2 bath townhouse (also in a nice part of West Seattle) I lived in, I paid $210k for in 2006. Fast forward to 2018, I sold the craftsman for $600k, and the townhouse for $570k. It’s TOO EXPENSIVE now!!! For those prices you can live in warm, sunny California! Seattle is cold, and rainy most of the year, and crime has taken over Seattle……violent crime!!
@@Littleinnocentkid …..My two Seattle homes I sold bought me my 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, pool in beautiful Calabasas for $1.35 million. BEST DECISION EVER.
I love Seattle ,I moved here 12 years ago . Very organized , clean , excelente public transportation ,beautiful state/city , great people. Very liberal 👍🏼. Unfortunately cost of housing is out of control and I don’t see any sign that indicates that this is going to change
Bro idk where you got those figures. There is no 1B1B in Seattle for under 1800. Maybe a studio would cost that little but not a 1B1B. Mine costs me 2700 a month and I live in north belltown. Granted it's a nicer place but the only way you could find a 1B1B for less than 2100 is if you either move to Chinatown or if you went aaaall the way down to Ruston/Takwilla/Kent
Just be sure to bring your wheelbarrow to carry all the money you're going to need when you go out shopping. That's if you have any left after paying your rent. $2,000 for a tiny studio apartment in the slimy part of town.
Absolutely, I'd be happy to. Is there anything specific about the King County areas you want to know? Cost of living, commute times to a certain area, schools, etc..?
@@livinginseattle-brycegreenleaf Can you do housing price comparisons from different suburbs of seattle with ratings. Things in the area, crime rating, increase/decrease of population in that area. Even Everett (even not being in King county) that is still pretty close in distance to Seattle. Just for my situation I work remotely so I can live anywhere but being close to Seattle is important being that it's the reason I'd like to move to Washington. I should probably just email you from this point forward. Thank you.
@@brandonyork7634 Absolutely Brandon, I will release a video soon covering this. Feel free to shoot me an email at bryce@pnwlivingwa.com and ask me any other questions you have and I can help you narrow down some locations I think you should consider
In the utility section, you mentioned internet and cable, however, you did not go into what to expect in Seattle for other utilities (power, gas, sewer, water)
As a Boston native and someone that has ties to Seattle and has been there. Both are very expensive but Seattle is more expensive than Boston. Both are beautiful cities. Washington state has no income tax but Massachusetts does.
Why are you encouraging people to move to Seattle? It is overcrowded enough as it is. There is barely enough room for the ones who already live here without transplants mucking up the place. Besides there is no price point for Seattle. It varies depending on how much you make a month. From Low Income making $846 a month to the Frasier Crane's the price of things will vary. The only thing for sure is that the more people move to Seattle the more expensive it will become. Of course you don't mind because you are making a shit load of money off of these poor saps that don't know any better. Just sayin. . .

So interesting to see most people’s living in Seattle there complexion is white as snow due to very little sunshine
Cost of clean air and clean water -- priceless
💀
I have watched many videos none of them could provide the information that I need. Thanks 🙏

Great video! Thank you for sharing this very useful information!
Unless you are a young professional making 200 grand a year how can you afford to live in Seattle? I mean have a life also.
Hi Bryce--thanks for these great videos. What site provided the cost of living map shown at 12:10?

California isn’t doing much better in the crime department haha.
@@kevinbothwell8425 …..I’m in safe, clean, beautiful Calabasas outside L.A. now. It’s paradise.
@@eddieg6436 alright let’s back up - Seattle could only really be compared to a few spots. LA, SF, SD. all with their fair share of problems.
You can’t find a home in a nice la neighborhood for less than 800k

awesome
Straight dating is crappy in Seattle
seems like a cool area
It's cheaper living in NYC, Atlanta, Miami, la, san fransico, and the whole state of alaska
yeah that doesn't sound realistic
Currently in ATL. Its not cheaper anymore. Maybe 10 years ago
Winco is trash. I'm spoiled by Costco.
