Why do clipper blades get hot?

- All clipper blades will get warm/hot eventually. Keeping your blades properly lubricated will help in alleviating the heat being produced from the friction of two pieces of metal violently rubbing against one another. In this video I try to give a more in-depth explanation on why blades get hot.

Thank you Nick for your services and advice. I use to use cool lube but now I switch off my blades and keep them well oiled. Hot blades will burn doggies skin. Thank you for teaching why my hair burns alot
Hi there I have a brand new oster 76 and have only used it twice so far.
Both times I oiled it first using the supplied oster oil but the blades got hot enough to burn my scalp on contact. I'm not using a comb, just a buzzcut do you think that the blade tension is set too high? 🤔

Thank you very much for the very clear visual. Tip for next time, music drowns you out a little. Might want to turn it down even more. I cleaned and oiled my clippers and the head stayed much cooler and my dog didn't get aggravated as soon.

I got new 00000 ceramic Andis blade still pulling brand new any tips ? I put oil an sprayed it an put more oil still pulls brand new I had 00000 before an didn’t pull should I get another one ?
Most barbers that buy new blades get them sharpened out of the package from me to guarantee they are sharp. Blades are guaranteed sharp but if they are dull then you have to send them back in for warranty.
Wsup! I just got the wahl magic clippers cordless and after 2 cuts I realized they get super hot ~15 min into my cuts. Do you think I should give them back to WAHL? I have tried using the clipper oil that comes in the box without any improvement. What should I do? Keep up the good work!
Santhush Malimbada turn it on and run it without a blade. If it doesn't get hot then there is nothing wrong with the clipper. If it get hot send it back for warranty. If it's the blade getting hot then oil more. Thanks for watching.

I left my oster fast feed on for about 10 minutes and it got somewhat hot I don’t know if it’s supposed to do that or not
Your Fast Feed clippers should not be producing enough heat to cause you concern after 10 minutes of run time.

There are problems with the ZR 11 cordless....they stop working, the red light flashes when you know your battery is fully charged 🤦🏻♀️
How do you keep the oil out of the coat?
It doesn't take much oil to keep the running surface of the blades smooth and free from debris. The oil is completely harmless and perhaps after oiling the blade, take a pass on the belly so the oil isn't exposed to sight. I can't imagine oil causing an issue in the coat unless the oil is excessive. Even then, it's still safe.

Can you do a video on how to fix a clipper that over heats, not the blade, but the clipper itself. I have used brand new blades changed the drive and hinge every month and has gone through a bottle of cooler a week and the blades turns very hot a few minutes after
If the clipper doesn't get hot without a blade on it, then the tension of the blade is to tight. If the clipper gets hot without a blade on it then the armature is bad or the feild is rubbing the aremature or it is broken. Or hair or carbon are blocking the air flow. Here's a video

No sé cuál es mejor porque estoy en Estados Unidos y nunca he visto uno de esos, pero el GTS 888 me parece mejor en lo que respecta a la calidad. Si ofrece repuestos, obtendría ese, pero si no, recomiendo obtener el prosperar porque parece que ofrece repuestos.
how do you adjust the pressure?? i just got a new ceramic 00000 blade for my supras.. oiled them too and they get supppper hot fast.. any help??
Mike Demma I wouldn't recommend loosening the tension. You might go to much and it won't cut.
With my new blade it's snagging hairs too also the 00000. After oiling them. Any advice?
Mike Demma sometime new blades come from the factory dull. Most of my customers that buy new blades get them sharpened right out of the package but they do have warranty information on the back of the package. It just will take like two weeks or you can try to send back to the store you bought it from as defective.
My girlfriend bought a brand new clipper and she kept saying it gets hot. Is there a break in period for the new clipper?

PicazZ it came off a black oster elite animal blade. not sold separately. A customer broke the blade and told me to keep parts off it.

Im a new barber...really only want to cut mine and my sons hair but i bought some wahl 5 star seniors and they get really hot only after 1 haircut
Angel Palacio do you oil the blades? They will get warm after 10 minutes. They make cooling lube also.
I use the oil that the clippers came with only
Angel Palacio well if you think they get to hot, wahl has a one year warranty.
