You make me feel better about the number of times I fall off mate. Little bit of chop and I get thrown all over the place. I live down here, and appreciate how lucky we are to have all of this on our doorsteps. Good vid, looks like a brilliant day out.
This video brought back good memories as my wife and I paddled to Old Harry Rocks last August in our Itiwit X100 kayak but launched from Monkey beach in Swanage which made the trip a bit longer. That was also a beautiful day and very hot. As you say, you get such a different perspective from the water. It is one of the things we really enjoy about getting out on the water. It's just a shame you haven't posted a vlog for a long time as your videos always made me smile.
Thankyou so much for this. It means a lot. I haven't posted anything this year due to other commitments but I will definitely be back into it in 2025 with various trips planned on boards and kayaks!
dude you are so lucky to have the water as calm as it is, i went last sunday completed beginner 1st time out in sea, was proper sketchy water was so choppy it throw my mate of his board and we almost drifted out to sea! our plan was head to swanage but advised by group of kayakers to go back to south beach
Yep we were. Saying that I have been a kayaker for many, many years and always do my research on weather, wind and tide. If any of those doesn't look right then the paddle is off. We SUP hundreds of miles a year on inland waterways so wind direction and speed is massively important to that too. As much as it can be a real bummer to wake up to unexpectedly 'different' weather... never be afraid to call the paddle off... that's much better that getting overly acquainted with the RNLI. lol
Nice video, is it save to kayak around Old Harry? It looked a bit rocky around the bottom of the rock and we have the same Itiwit kayak as you and was wondering if the rocks would be a bit too sharp for the Kayak.
We've been around (and bumped into) rocks before in the ITIWIT (see my other videos lol) and I'd say it's fine. The Itty is much more robust than my SUP tbh.

I can't believe how calm that water is!
Nice vid bud :)
Thanks. Yes, we were really lucky with the weather and wind direction. It's rare to be able to paddle both sides even on a calm day.
@@teawithq3351 Yeah I bet! :D
