Agreed, but too bad it was very buggy, you could magic spam kill almost all bosses. The game was only challenging if you chose to complete it without using black magic.
Playing Secret of Mana as a young teen in the mid-90's was comfy as heck. The vibrant pixel-art, the wonderful soundtrack and charming gameplay. Other games had it beat in terms of plot, but those reasons alone made it a must-play for the era, and one you could go back to regularly.
The memories. My little brother and I had to turn the volume all the way down. Even the brightness to keep my parents from finding out. Then going to school, no sleep
I am playing through a game right now…an old friend of mine “JAB” got me into this game when we were kids..if you ever see this comment..thank you Josh
This is one of my favorite games to date, I have so many memories playing it with my stepdad. Really guided my path towards my love for these style of games and retro gaming as an entirety. I'm so thankful I was able to experience Secret of Mana and Sieken Densetsu 3 as such a prime time in my life! Really great work on the run 🙌
This and FF7 are my all-time favorite games. This was all kinds of awesome getting to watch; I haven't played this in a long time. Thank you for the upload!
I'm using this to find where to go and what to do when I am stuck. Currently going for the final boss, first time playing this game and I'm doing it on my Miyoo Mini Plus. Thanks for the great help
Nice walkthrough bro, it was a good kind of guide for a slow guy like me lol. I had to play that ending phase more than once because I left Primm with no MP left and no items to restore at the Mana Beast fight xD
This was one of the great epic grindfests of the SNES. Great gaming to great music, all but for an incurably depressing story. If they had just punched up the battle with Thanatos a notch and scrapped storyline killing the dragon and the sprite, they might have had a PERFECT game. As is, I ALWAYS replay Secret of Evermore, FF6, and DQ5 instead!
Must not have played much of the remake....or any of the games far beyond this one. I loved the original, but they have made so many greater than this since then. I just started visions of mana last week and words will never be enough to explain how great it is. And I have played every mana game since the original
You can change characters with the "Select" to her, then you break the wall of bones with the Axe, if you mean that it attacks alone, in the Actions menu, put the character to attack
Sometimes the goblins didn't appear when you did it in a different order, for example if you visited the girl in the castle, before going to the Water Palace. But nothing happens, you can continue the story normally, without goblins appearing
This was one of my fave games growing up. One of the Squaresoft gems of the SNES. I still listen to the ost pretty often.

This was one of the games as a child where I had fun playing with friends since all the characters can be played on a multi-tap. Such a fun memory.
Back to the good old days. Got the SNES for my Birthday. So many hours of play.

SO WORTH IT
Love this, me and my brothers too

The minute I heard the music I was so happy ❤❤
Great walkthrough, it's helping me get through the game as we speak. Thanks.
At 3 hrs in he does grinding. His ho goes from 205 to 302. Experience was 14k and then 72k when stood at the 4 pillars after going north to forest.
All you have to do is keep an eye on his gold to have an idea how much grinding he did

Chrono Trigger was better
@@jaredangell8472 people are allowed to like other games in addition to chrono trigger
@@jaredangell8472 I loved that game! I'll put Chrono just a tad bit above this game

My parents bought me this game by mistake (wanted Chrono tiger)... What sn absolute delightful mistake 😊

I really miss chrono tiger....most hardcore tiger I have ever seen
This is still better than remake

@@omegamanGXE the art direction, the colors. The remake has really souless art
Gosh it’s been so long I only vaguely remember this stuff
Great soundtrack.
the fucking moogel belt!!! is the key to this whole game!!!
I hope I can play this with the girl I'm engaged to soon. I think on SNES 2 players could play? Can you do that with other version ports?
Yes I play with friends on the switch
Any recommendations for games similar to this and Zelda: A Link To The Past?
Hi Michaela!!! Here are some SNES RPG game recommendations:
- illusion of Gaia
- Terranigma
- Secret of Evermore
- Lufia 2
- Chrono Trigger
@@Freidan Thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You can play this game on I pad Same with final fantasy too.
and ps4.
Great game!
Does the midge mallet have unlimited uses or did you just get a lot of them?
A bit late, but it has unlimited uses :)
Thanks
Just Nostalgia.
How do you switch characters? As soon as I got the spirte, it changed to hear as the main character.
Select
How do I get pass 1:45:54 when you are at the temple. When I do it the bad guys multiply and start using powers and I die instantly.
Hi Esperanza!!! I advise you to go up to level 14 or more, to go to the temple
@@Freidan all three of my characters are on level 14. Am I doing something wrong that i cant pass 🤔

Grind up levels.
how do you do the dodging roll to avoid the attacks?
Having a high level and a lot of defense, you will automatically dodge attacks when they attack you.
Armour and high defence skill.
First, live action rpg!!!

Huh, first playthrough I've seen where the sprite was recruited before whats-her-face at the castle.
Hi Rokabur!!! You can choose who to recruit first, but in the Game's instruction manual, they tell you to recruit the elf/sprite first, then the girl.
@@Freidanfunny. I completed the game the opposite way.

How the luck do you get her to do that at 1:06:31?

Im stucked on Dread Slime. Everything gave 1 or 0 dmg, even SHADEs magics 😢
Before reaching the boss, go up to level 7 or 8 of "Shade's magic" to defeat the enemy
24:22 For some reason this never happens to me, the robots never appear
After played zelda this was kinda cooler cos you had more weapons to chose from was fun game . Last boss was bitch to beat
For some reason I never got kidnapped by the goblins after the water palace?
