CORRECTION: Tests against the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H featured the 2024 Huawei MateBook 14, not the MateBook X Pro (same chip, same 70Wh battery though).

Unfortunately AMD isn't as good at GPU as it is at CPU, so I'd go with the Asus Zephyrus G16 OLED 240Hz with an AMD CPU over Intel and an Nvidia RTX 4080/4090 on board. But there is no such choice.

These forthcoming launches make it a terrible time to splash out on a current generation laptop but if you gave me a suitcase full of cash and pointed a gun at me then a £7k top spec MacBook Pro or a top spec AMD powered G16 or Razer 16 with a 4090 would probably be the way go. 😂

Its kinda sad how these modern new notebooks have huge issues and bugs when running older OS like Windows 10. I would love to have a Zenbook S16 but having to run Windows 11 is an absolute nogo. It would immediately get Linux installed with twisted fingers hoping it to have no driver issues. The notebook itself looks very promision and I love 15-16 inch Notebooks with lighweight metal chassis. It makes it comfortable to carry with without having to fear breaking it due to lack of rigidity.
But At this moment, I personally would grab an MacBook Air over this, just for the fact that it has to run Windows 11 for a problem free use. And I don't know how well Linux and Thunderbolt Dockingstations work well with Ryzen AI Notebooks.

Third it has fabulous battery life. It has the best low power integrated graphics and can game up to 4h if managed correctly, or be used 12h a day instead of 8h. The hx365 model is $1400, not $1700. Nearly bought one of these but it needs an extra USB port, preferably a USB-C on the right, we are not all students running on batteries. I need ports on the left for a USB hub and a USB hard drive and on the right for USB mouse so nowhere left for power!!! Laptop makers have used using USB-C for power to save money by removing a dedicated power port but not increasing the USB ports to compensate for one becoming the power port. It's just like the 16:10 aspect ratio has seen the demise of 17 inch screens for those of us old pros that don't want to squint at the screen. Also no Thunderbolt4 and lastly the black version is not available on Asus UK website. So close but no cigar...
