You can realy see how it is not a political question for them, but a natural reaction.
There people were attacked and are getting driven out of their lands as we speak;
so they stand up and use their voice.
Their loyalty is admirable and even more so is the courage and loyalty of those protecting their land on the frontlines.

Ich verstehe bis jetzt noch nicht, wie so viele Menschen auf die Idee kommen, Karabach sei armenisches Gebiet. Sie haben es mal irgendwann von den Albanern erobert und 1750 wieder verloren. Zu einer Zeit, als selbst die heutige Hauptstadt Eriwan aserbaidschanisches Gebiet unter persischer Hoheit war.
Der Blödsinn, dass Stalin das Land den Aserbaidschanern geschenkt hat, stammt aus armenischen Märchenbüchern, denn schon die Verträge von Gülüstan und Turkmentschay beließen Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts das Gebiet bei den Aserbaidschanern, als Persien es nach dem 3. bzw. 4. russisch-persischen Krieg abgeben musste.
Schade, dass SOAD nach so langer Zeit so plumpe Propaganda macht.

As much as I love the band being back together, it devastates me that the motivation is to prevent cruelty, genocide, elimination of the general public. Why dont presidents fight the war, why do they only send the poor. So true and so heart wrenching.

Ive never had more respect for a group of men coming together, and putting aside their differences, knowing that their own platform, (however different it might be from the platform they are targeting) could bring awareness to issues that otherwise would not get the same attention across the world. If that doesnt tell you everything you NEED to know about the members of this band, and their history, than nothing will.

SOAD are heroes. I don’t know any other band that has so consistently fought for their people. I have no ties to the Middle East in anyway, but they got me to care, and just seeing 4 men truly do anything necessary to defend their homeland is incredible. Thank you for putting aside your differences and coming together when we needed you most

@@dreamwalkinginbrooklyn9356 yes it was. He wrote both songs for HIS solo project Scars on Broadway. But they released them under the SOAD name because it has a lot more impact than Scars.
I had the pleasure of talking with John Dolmayan after their show at Numbers here in Houston, Tx. That was soooooo long ago. Think I was in my late teens maybe early 20's. Talked with him about drumming and how he got so good. Such a humble and talented human being. I'll keep that memory for the rest of my life. Was an amazing experience.

Hes 100% allowed to say they're his songs because they are. Those songs were NOT initially written for System. They were written for Scars on Broadway. Which is Darons solo project. Of course he has written them on his own. Its his SOLO project that they were intended for. They just released it under the System banner to get more attention for this great cause

I mean Daron was always one of the primary songwriters, no? And yeah, Humanoidz was a Mesmerize era jam but this was an idea for Scars originally. They might be united by a love for Armenia but it's also pretty obvious why a band that's always been fiercely political can't get together to make a new album.

I fully support your cause, and have nothing but utter admiration for your efforts to create exposure and funds for Armenia in this fashion.
My suggestion to you is to continue to write on more material with the same goal in mind, the four of you united musically and mentally will result in ten times more exposure and funds then you have generated so far with these two songs.
And the next best thing to happen is that you will make each and everyone who listens to your music extremely happy with more new material from the band.

*Respect for your work, guys.* I myself come back to a songs every couple days and likes good comments in order to helps the videos in promoting and getting into user recommendations.
It's interesting to know that when the hypnotize album came out, i was a year old and i went to discover system of a down in 2018 with chop suey, and i thought it was amazing. Now, 15 years later they release two new songs and I was able to have the thrill of listening to new songs being released.
You need to make another album as soon as possible!
