Individualism (deciding your own fate), socialism (a collective group decides your fate), you pointed out in your post, how politicians can be drawn to greed, why would you trust them with your life? Are you not brave enough, or diligent enough to make your own choices? Why do you need a government or anyone to tell you how to live? I have heard some people try to say that socialism is just a way of making everyone equal. I have a question, why should someone who refuses to work or better themselves, be given any of my hard earned dollars? I started out at the bottom, had to scrape along that bottom for 4 years, moved up a little higher before a bad injury knocked me back down to the bottom, now I've finally made it back up. So, because others are too lazy to work hard, my money should be taken away and given to someone else by my government? Please, don't try to justify communism/socialism to me, I won't fall for the lie or put my life into the hands of big brother government. WILL NEVER HAPPEN. GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!!!!!
@Eli Wiens What do you call it then, when a government takes away your Capital/property/ etc. in the form of taxes, to benefit society as a whole or to "redistribute wealth"? Bernie Sanders supports this, many liberals and self proclaimed socialists support this. So, do you support taxing me, taking hard earned money away from me, to better society? If you do, then you are no better than the tyrants in England, who imposed taxes on Tea and Stamps and demanded that the colonists pay up. The writings of the Founding Fathers are very easy to find and study through Google, and they can tell you in their own words what started the Revolutionary War.

I just finished watching this for American Government class. I wrote lyrics to it because it got stuck in my head
While it has a lot of inaccuracies, the series captures the general sense of what was going on, and is a lot of fun to watch
