Yea, what he said. I've seriously watched hundreds of people react to different tool songs over the last year and I must say this is probably one of the most refreshing to see by far.
#AllTheHope these young ladies need more Maynard. I felt reallllllly awkward saying they need more Tool.... I’m a dad to 3 girls, gotta be careful what you say, 😂
Wow young ladies, this reaction could have easily gone in a number of directions and I've seen a lot of reactors older than you completely misinterpret this performance. It warms my heart to see young people accept this band on its merits without bias. Your parents should be proud. Excellent reaction.
You ladies always impress me because you listen to every part of every song. You hear the lyrics, actually hear the message contained. Your analysis of each band member is especially impressive, you pay attention to everything in front of you.
Completely agree! I've seen a bunch of reactions to this. And so many people get waaay too caught up in "oMg iS hE oN DrUgZ? WtF iS hE wEaRiNG???". I'm so glad they were able to recognize and appreciate it as a performance!
@@somebodysomewhere2127 im with you there. Ive never see these girls react to anything before so when they did one of my favorite Tool songs i had to watch. I just love the way they were really getting into the song, rocking out and not stopping the video every minute to comment on something trivial. Their insight at the end was perfect
Your commits are insightful. I’ve been obsessed with this song for 27 years and enjoy watching reaction videos which help me understand why. Quite a few other reactors that billed themselves as vocal coaches and such didn’t have much interesting to say about this amazing performance as you young ladies did.
I grew up listening to metal and I didn't really get tool and what it was until I was in my 18+ age. I used to think it was just too weird, but one day it just clicked and I was all in

Little advices for the next Tool song. 1/ Pick whichever you like they’re all great with 2 little caveats. First, make sure you don’t pick up an interlude by mistake and second certain songs are meant to be played together (or rather one after the other) so it would be wise to play them that way. For instance do not play Parabol or Parabola alone but play Parabol/Parabola ine after the other. 2/ Don’t watch the official videos for their singles on tour first listen. The videos are great but weird and sometimes a little disturbing and they have a tendency to distract you from the music and lyrics. 3/ Enjoy. Those Tool guys are good on every level.
I love the music videos, but you are so right. If you are very familiar with Tool it's pretty easy to see how the videos tell the same story as the songs. But I definitely remember seeing them for the first time and they are definitely a distraction. Learn the song first and then spend time with the music videos, lol.
@@yellowsky3843 how you define better? Having more good songs? Or something else. Tool is good but only have a handful of good songs. Dream Theater has more for example
You three reviewed that wonderfully. I'm so glad to see you do more than just saying wow and signing off. You caught the basic meaning, the nuances in the performance and I saw something genuine in your faces. Good job!
The singer is Maynard James Keenan and he has 2 more bands that sings in. A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. But as for Tool check out Right in Two or The Grudge.

You can see it all over these girl’s faces - This band’s bass riffs and Maynards vocal ability is wildly impressive. You can tell that these girls are pleasantly surprised with what they’re hearing.
@Eric Gaudet not true. There is an interview of Maynard by Joe Rogan on his podcast where he addresses this rumor. Everyone thinks he has stage fright because he now sits in the back by Danny but he said he does this purely because of the sound.

They are truly masters at their craft and your lives will truly be enriched by their greatness 🙌. Please take care and stay well. I appreciate you all more than you know 👍
Adam Jones, the guitarist, is actually a classically trained violinist. That's one aspect of Tool's unique sound and you won't find regular 'guitar solos" in Tool's repertoire. Instead most of their songs start with a 'simple' build up, followed by more intricate elements and result in a crescendo where all instruments and vocals meet as one.
Tool is an amazing band, and you're sure to love them more with every song. It's rare to find a band that can make you headbang and think simultaneously. Even rarer is one that does it every single time. I recommend using the studio versions of their songs, as they are incredibly layered and complex (and headphones are a must! ) May I suggest / request "Right in Two" or "Forty Six & 2" as your next reactions, or maybe "Parabol/Parabola".
I’m so impressed with your commentary. You three are so precocious. I recommend “Schism” as the next Tool song you should react to. Keep up the good work!
You guys have great comments on this song and the performance, so many kids in my class are too scared to say what they think about stuff but you guys obviously enjoy discussing things thoughtfully with each other. Maynard is certainly a diva. I've always loved Tool because, to me, their performances feel very much like an old Opera or theatre performance, like you said. Like back when these arts were genuinely appreciated instead of commodified like it seems to be these days.
I listen to tool and all the bands that have put on I listen to them 30 years ago and I think you guys do a good job showing this my congratulations from Chile South America
If you enjoyed that performance I suggest that you watch the live performance of the Salival version of pushit. You all seem very intuitive and very interested in this admittedly abstract and strange art, so Salival pushit might blow your minds! (Also, In my opinion, Maynard's vocals sound absolutely beautiful in that song). The quality of what you will be able to find on RUclips might be kind of low. But it's good enough to appreciate.
