I was kinda hoping the prisoner would be a new survivor, it just looks like a mercenary skin. But it's still cool.
It is a merc skin. He would've been cool as a survivor.

@@thiagotaubman7505 The issue with that is that all of the dead cells crossovers are canon to its own universe, so it would be kind of a fortnite situation of just making all the indie games share a universe

Looks like Artifact of Devotion spawns eggs that you sacrifice an item to to get a Lemurian ally. And Artifact of Delusion closes previously opened chests so you can buy them for a new item.
Gotta love the trailer giving some love to Flamethrower and Arrow Rain. Mabie we'll see some buffs on those in the update too

While cool, I don't really know how this is gonna play out in a game that hasn't been receiving support for some time now and has fallen to botters. Every match I load into there are people glitching and teleporting around insta killing everything, and not to mention this update is extremely small.
Honestly public lobbies in this game sound like an absolute nightmare, they really do not work with the type of game risk of rain 2 is

Maybe it'll come with the new update. But I'd be down for new abilities or cooler yet, being able to change the primary attack of survivors.

crossovers for crossovers sake is lame when everything else about the world is self contained, lazy way to try and combine audiences
I disagree. Risk of rain has an admirable art style and story that i guarentee a lot of people are invested in. Tossing in a bunch of crossovers bogs down the experience, and makes the game feel like a joke rather than a story.
Risk of rain was already cool, it didn't need anyone else to try and help it. Let risk of rain STAY as risk of rain.

Is this just runoff from Seekers? Artifact of devotion looks like something that previously would have been in the new heroes kit. Ill keep waiting on this dlc but this does not seem to bode well. :^/

Great move adding two new artifacts and leaving the codes in places outside of the game itself... very intelligent and not a dick move at all...

Like idk I have a friend that says its great but honestly everytime I play it it just feels like a really long runback to the last place I was at and died to something dumb
Like seriously 3 hours and dying to an enemy that teleports from off screen and have to restart is rough
I think it’s just everyone repaying the favour. Couple years ago, dead cells released an update with a number of cross-over items from various IP’s, risk of rain included.
