The day I feared has come: a video about the traps I play in my games
Oh no
This is why you play really annoying openings like Bird’s, or the polish game. Barely any content creators cover them.
@@ethanmcculloch5309 Bird's is underrated at the club level. A lot of reverse Dutch like positions and transposing to the King's Gambit if they try to be cheeky by playing From's Gambit. I like playing 1 f4 in a lot of my blitz games
@@ajb129 à
Try playing the King's Gambit Declined : Zilbermints Double Countergambit : Bongcloud Variation
The moment i saw this video i went on to chess right away and proceeded to get black 5 times in a row
lol same here
@@mangoose15 i got white but they all play what the video didnt teach
happened to me with halloween gambit
6:57 Pro tip here: After Ke8 (most ppl won't play Kf8 since we take their bishop with check), I really like Qh5+ to provoke g6 then take the bishop, which worsens Black position even more. I play this a lot and Black goes g6 99% of the time since Kf8 will just let us take the bishop with check (so it seems bad), but playing g6 is actually even worse, just a nice little trick I thought I'd share.
Position is slightly above +1 if you just take the bishop straight away, but if you induce g6 first then take its like +2.6 since it leaves their rook very vulnerable.
yes I was gonna comment that
I was going to comment the same, this plays a huge importance in this gambit because of the rare Pawn b2 - capture with bishop now opens up h8 square, and same for q.c5 - q.c3.
I love this gambit and I'm learning more about it every day, it's amazing.
@@mdr1902 *yes*
thank you pro player
I disagree. I think Kf8 is the better move for black, since after 7 … Ke8? 8 Qc5 Qe7 9 Qe7 Ne7 10 Nc3 d5 11 ed5 Nb4 there is Dzindzi’s 12 Bg5! Nc2 13 Kd2 Na1 14 Re1 winning. From the book Chess Openings for White Explained.
Opening tip: If you are a player rated lower than 1600, there is a good chance that your opponent will play the anti-fried liver by playing h6. The tip is, play d4 and when they take the pawn, castle. If they play bc5 after you castle play c3 and you’re in a Haxo Gambit position but you are castled and your opponent wasted a temp by playing h6.
Here are the move orders:
1. E4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 h6 4. D4 exd4 5. O-O Bc5. In this position if you play c3, and you’ve actually transposed into the scotch but you have castled and the opponent wasted a tempo by playing h6
this is golden
Can somebody clarify the exact move order ?
I'm confused. Don't you have to play Bc4 to get to the anti-fried liver defense? You mention playing d4 as a reaction but d4 is just the Scotch game, which is part of the opening.
@@skylardeslypere9909 I cant even see my reply anymore wtf
@@johndalton4559 what?
Excellent lesson....best I have seen in weeks!! Looking forward to whatever you decide to present !😇
Didn't know about this Gambit either! Appreciate it for making a video on it.
Bunch of fun lines! I'll start using this together with the Vienna!
you should make a video on some openings with long names like the Intercontinental ballastic missile gambit or albin countergambit nuclear powered submarine variation
Very quality material, thank you!
I loved this so much!!!❤ I'm trying to improve my game style. Going tl try to master this. Thanks
I'm so glad you made a video on this. So many people play this against me in my games and it's so great because I don't fall for their traps and end up winning.
I've been playing this gambit since watching your videos and I'm loving the games that come out of them even when I lose it is a fun time. Playing 3 minute chess. But just one won right now where we are even in material after I take the bishop from the check fork. But it put black in a hard spot and they started crumbling and got an easy win. super cool gambit.
you should have also mentioned the line d3 instead of dxc3
when the queen or bishop captures, it basically makes it hard for white to develop the knight where they want it to and black can play d6 next move, getting rid of all the threats
if d3 the best move is b4 and white has a slight edge.
White has a slight edge after dxc3 Bxf7!! Kxf7 Qd5+
Hey Nelson thanks for another instructive quality video. I would like to ask you how do I prepare for an amateur chess tournament? My first time entering one.
I'd really like to see a video on 4...Nf6. Hope your staying warm in NTX this morning Nelson, love the channel.
They're out there. Look for "Max Lange Attack."
of of the most clear and consice chess videos I've seen. 👍
When I still played 1..e5 I responded to 4. Bc4 with Be7, then d6 and Nf6. Passive but safe and takes white out of book. I had positive results with it.
This was INCREDIBLY helpful!!
Haxo gambit really works , the opponent was struggling very hard thanks
Hello, new to this channel...great video about Haioase Gambit, I think I tried some of the Haxo Gambit and didn't realized, anyway great strategy and opening!🙂✌🏼 keep it up
This is a really nice one but knowing my luck after e4 my opponent will play c5 Sicilian :D
For real! Learning how to beat lines in the Sicilian at 800-1800 is so important.
I strongly recommend 2.c3 (Alapin variation) against Sicilian against players below 2000. It has a surprisingly high win rate for white at lower levels.
Personnally in scotch games, I like bringing the Queen to f6 and then threatening a checkmate by bringing the bishop to c5 if they move their knight, or just to add some pressure to them
Thank You! Very worth seeing! (watched twice :) )
Nice one, thanks
your thumbnails are getting better btw...keep up the good work i subbed u when u had like 50ksubs
Thanks
thanks a lot bro
great video! Thanks Funk soul brother
Many ideas here are similar to the Evans Gambit, which has similar Bxf7+ lines, but with the king castled and without the b pawn for white, which I think is stronger than the Haxo gambit. If my opponents play into these lines they rarely survive.
Hi, i tried the evans but still have no idea why this b4 move and the bishop is next move back to c5 makes sense. Maybe you can explain!?
@@ingogoldbeck2886I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly but if the black bishop goes back to c5 white can play d4 attacking the bishop again
@@aura809 yes but you can have the same without the pawn sacrifice when you play the rosentreter gambit, then haxo and then c3.
When you attack the bishop again after evans then exd4 and the d line is still blocked. I dont get the advantage of this evans.
@@ingogoldbeck2886after exd4 white goes cxd4 and the d pawn cannot be taken by the knight or bishop since that would lose a piece. the pawn on d4 in the evans is defended by the c pawn knight and queen. This results in white having two strong pawns in the center which is one of the main points of the evans gambit. The other gambits you were talking about lose the central pawn, the evans gambit doesnt.
@@aura809 i got it, thanks. So the main goal of evans is the strong center, whilst i prefer to have the d file open to start an attack with the bishop.
Cracked gambit.
I've never seen this gambit before 🤩 might try this out
same
Nice variation
Powerful trap! Poison everywhere
I like this gambit, this looks like an evans gambit
Did you make a knight to f6 follow up video? Would be very interested.
Thinking should I play this
i loved this but i will see this video again and again whenever i go in a tournament
I was finally able to beat the 1500 computer Antonio with this strat! thanks man
At 6:59 would it not be better if you did bisschop g5 so you can get their queen and then either their bisshop or get your own bisshop to safety?
wow!i like it
You can transpose from an Italian into this. If you play d4 on the fourth move.
1. E4 e5 2. Nf3 nc6 3. Bc4 bc5 4. D4 exd4.
But exd4 is not garanteed and there are two other main moves that come to mind.
Yes, I’ve played the Italian variation of this for a few years now. It’s very nice
It is Rosentreter Gambit. And exd4 is almost guaranteed here.
You should check out the legal trap. Its not very complex but when you do it its hella satisfying
Very similar tactics in the danish gambit
I love the scotch already so this is great
5:35 to skip the 1st weird trap
Did that knight f6 video get made? I really wanna see that
Excellent video!
This has been my favorite opening as white for over a year now. I've played it hundreds of times personally, and I win about 65%
That last line is so key! @11:20
Whats your elo? Im curious
@@samritirana6710my blitz rating is about 1300ish. But it's a good opening in blitz at other levels as well. Stockfish doesn't hate it
Will there be another video about the other moves
it seems good!!!!!!!
basically Evans but scotch, to the ppl who see this, go for the Italian game, after u play your bishop, they will either respond with Bc5 or Nf6, u can play Evans gambit if they play Bc5, you can play fried liver if they play Nf6, be careful don't get traxlered
So what do you do or what would the strategy be if your opponent don't accept the c3pawn with the d2 pawn
is there a part 2? thanks hehe
part 2 for sure
08:10 -- "And then we would probably move the bishop away..."
Nah... You can straight-up win by capturing his knight with your pawn. Then, after HIS pawn takes YOUR bishop, you take his king-side unmoved pawn.
He'll block promotion with rook, attacking your pawn, but then you just defend it with YOUR OWN bishop. etc.
.
This look fun
ahhh this was the first thing i learned in chess
My first game I tried to play this, the literally brought out the other knight. The one we ain't talking about in this video. Made me a sad panda, but I won anyway eventually. xD
Me sitting here thinking "dang, I should so play this", only to realise that if I did I'd probably gambit more than a few pawns, and I usually play d4 anyway.
Thank you so much for such a fantastic video tutorial, I really do appreciate it
Has similar lines from the danish gambit
8:10 blasphemy, heresy, polytheism
you're going to hell
damn it i play this everytime
Good one, but if you are meet someone over let´s say 1500, it´s unlikely that they don´t play d7-d5 when you play e4-e5. See 8:00, and is the right way to meet lots of such «primitive» attacks like Fried Liver.
What if they depend the knight on e4 with the f7 pawn?
I wish I could play like that.
When knight goes to e4 at 10:19 after bishop d5 what if pawn to f5?
i dont even know whats going on while watching these videos they just relax me fr
Why does this feel like an opening Eric would play 😂
After black bishop moves (f8-c5), best move is to offer knight sacrifice (b1-c3). If blacks sacks the knight, white queen moves (d1-d5) which prepares for mate attack on f7. White cannot escape; it can only make a few meaningless knight moves.
12:38 What happens if Qxd4 instead of Bxd4?
Black's hanging bishop is a trap magnet.
Next time you are playing against martin could you please try to checkmate martin with 2 knights. I have tried it and I think it is possible. I accidentally stalemated him. It could take some time or then just be done in 1 minute. If you could try this it would be really nice😁
You need 2 knights and a pawn
@@yoyotheplayer9403 there are checkmate positions with 2 knights but none of them are forced
@@pokemonmaster42000 you need your king though. Just 2 knights physically can't checkmate a king by themselves
@@yoyotheplayer9403 You need 2 knights and the opponent to have one pawn in order not to stalemate, but I'm not sure if that's possible in all cases
@@skylardeslypere9909 i feel like having the king is implied and shouldnt need to be clarified...
Nelson sir, please make a 15 minutes Opening video on scotch
Question: what if someone declines the gambit, what follow-up moves to do to make it forced? Or counter attack for declining the gambit?
Yes.
Push.
I clicked the right arrow to come back and like the video.
Actually Nf6 just transposes to Italian, the problem with this opening at least on higher levels, is that people don't play Bc5, but Nf6 immidiately and ignore this pawn
It transposes into the two knights defense line where white plays d4 instead of going for the fried liver. In that position you can actually just castle and white will have a pretty fun game, even more so if they let you go into a max lange attack with bc5
👍
Looks like the black starts off with lots of weaknesses even before the game starts.
After 5... dxc3 6 Qd5 I think wins the bishop?
My absolute hatred against the scotch opening is the main reason I only play caro kann
I am probably never going to remember the PGN lol
What is the outdo music name?
why it always transposes to Italien Greco Gambit?
Kind of like the Jerome gambit from the Italian game!
Why nelson!!, I have been using this opening repoitoire😂😂🙂😑
This is by transposition the Urosov gambit.
As the summary: So, The Haxo Gambit is basically just Scotch Gambit but with extra steps. Is that it?
Make a video for Nf6
I put my knight on g5 and he responded with pawn on g6. How do I respond to that?
I had 2 brilliants using this gambit
If black instead of playing Bc5 plays Nf6 then this is no longer a trap, right?
What happened at the 'en passant' at 9:27
I'm kinda new to chess, can someone explain how he moved at 9:28 the pawn from e5 to d6? There was no piece that he could take there and the black pawn from d5 disappeared. I don't understand.
Google en passant
I am getting fried liver and jerome gambit vibes from the first part
4:59 it can be turned into the max lange attack lol
where exactly is the *"HAXO gambit"* here, pray tell ??
I see only the *SCOTCH* gambit ?! O_o
...
12:24 I must have missed the reason? Why doesn't the queen go to f3 instead with ideas of capturing with the rook rather and pin black's queen...? Bxf7+ isn't enough cause black doesn't need to take but the queen move we just made threatens mate almost already, why is e2 considered a better spot? Can somebody elaborate please?
Looking at stockfish, after the exchange at 12:53 White cannot trade queens and the position is worse. Qf3 is good without the exchanges in the video, and after Black plays d5, then Bf4 Qf5 cxd4 and the position is similar, at least as far as I can tell
8:10 What's wrong with exd6?
....aaaaand now I "only" have to remember all that 😂
Everybody gangsta until gang passant!
