    In chess openings, beginners often struggle with early queen moves. This can lead to the Scholars Mate or other traps involving tactics that lead to losing material. In this video, I hope to show the Wayward Queen Attack and other opening garbage that you can defeat and not worry about anymore.

      I actually had to look up with an engine how to counter the scholars mate because it happend so often so i wanted a good counter😂

      @@FritzMeowstro spotting it and not getting mated I had figured out to some extend. But often I blunderd pieces. So I wanted a good counter against it so I could punish my opponent and win :D
      And also because I got really tilted by it. Enough to make me not play for over a week XD
      Oh and puzzles I do enough, I'm almost 1200 rated in puzzles while only 800 in rapid.

    POV: you’re an intermediate player, your opponent brings the queen out early like a noob, you get cocky and ignore him and get mated in the 7th move

    It's really fun when you get someone who clearly climbed because of aggressive early queen attacks and there's really long pauses when you block their attacks like 'wait you weren't supposed to do fhat'

      I think the best way to counter early queen attacks is to bring your queen out before your opponent could, what i usually do as black, or bring it out to confront the enemy queen

    I’ve lost hundreds of games because the opponents played the early queen attacks. It is extremely effective at beginner level. I reckon you can get to a decent elo just playing this.

      And it's an ahole thing to do when your opponent is less than 900. It took me 6-7 times of being checkmated like this till I actually noticed how good the knight move is. Now I rarely ever panic when the opponent tries to be smart and cool with this attack.

      Mina pretty much exclusively does the Wayward Queen if you start as black. It was good practice but sometimes the bot makes weird opening moves that messes up the line

      @@nickonline5462 I don't play bots and I also want to play all of them like climbing stairs. There's Beginner level bots that randomly just fuck your ass for no reason (they perfectly counter every move), and when playing against them again, they blunder their Queen by putting them right next to a Bishop I just developed within the first 10 moves. Sometimes the bots don't make any sense at all

    Thank you, Levy, today i've successfully blocked early queen attack for the first time and by the turn 8 i had a material advantage of +10, by the turn 25 my opponent retreated, because it is impossible to play with king and three pawns against five pawns, two rooks, a bishop and a queen, and it's all was possible only because i watched this video, thank you!

    Had someone try to Scholar's Mate me with Qf3 a few days ago.
    He lost in 14 moves.
    I hate early Queen attacks, they only work on beginners and it's not a fun experience for them. I feel like people who play early Queen attacks are low level bullies that end up driving new people away from the game.
    It is my personal mission to punish Qf3 at every opportunity.

      God bless you. I play as a Guest on beginner level on a well-known chess site, but there are no beginners, there. A highly-rated friend told me “yeah unfortunately, the 2000+ crowd likes to troll beginner and beat up on the kids.” I nearly gave up on chess thinking it’s not for me.

    This kind of play takes you a lot further than just beating bad Queen openings. A lot of games below 1000 just have openings that aren’t exactly straight from the database, sometimes dudes are just gonna throw pieces around. When people do terrible openings it’s just important to stay principled, develop the center, and wear down the opponent.

    Me and my friends have dubbed Queen to H5 the North Korean Missle Gambit Because seems intimidating until you realize that there is nothing supporting the actual attack and usually backfires on them.

    I like to think of a queen like a tank. The rooks are light tanks but the queen is a heavy.
    It's a piece that has tremendous firepower and maneuverability. When you get used to using it properly it makes your chess way better.

      One big difference: tanks are heavily armored and can stand shots from lighter weapons. The queen on the other hand has to run and hide as soon as she gets threatened.

      I'd say that the queen is actually the light tank (or LAV) and the rooks are heavy tanks. I'm mostly referring to maneuverability and usefulness. While tanks are very scary and all that, they have a hard time roaming the area and are very situational, whilst LAVs are more flexible and have much more use than just tanks

      What about more of a sniper? Queen has the most maneuverability but deadly against singular targets, whilst being vulnerable. Rooks are more like aircraft, as they travel with a wingman sometimes. The queen is the special ops piece, versatile but weak on its own

    I went to play nelson right after this, lost first game, won second game cleanly
    The trick is developing while attacking the queen so he has to keep dancing around while you develop, trading everything evenly and quick, force an endgame fast, don't fall for the early queen traps, nelson sucks so much at the endgame

    I know this is an older video, but thank you so much for this my dude! After recently getting whomped on by an early queen attack, I re-watched this video and I just played a game where it happened again, but this time I was prepared! I avoided the traps, covered the quick check-mate, and to my absolute bliss they resigned.     I jumped from like 600 to 800 just beating guys that tried this nonsense 4 move checkmate. Soooo easy to chase their queen around the board while you develop your pieces. And they almost always blunder their queen eventually

      @@incom6897 there’s a difference between Magnus Carlson doing scholars mate and every one else. For most people, that is the only opening they know and they usually blunder when they make mistakes. The same can’t be said for Magnus. It’s still a rubbish opening

It is terrible for development, puts your queen at risk while they’re developing their pieces. While you’ve had to move your queen 5 times, I’ve already fully developed my pieces

      The fried liver isn’t something you should allow with the black pieces. It’s considered very, very good for white. You mean your annoyed when your opponents fall into it?

      @@coleschemistrychannel4172 No. I mean when the opponent tries it. Thankfully, I know now how to deal with it. It's just annoying that they try to go for those tricks instead of playing solidly.
      However, as a C5 player, I mostly don't allow it now. :) They still try a variant of the Fried Liver tho.

    The first time I played Nelson I figured I had to handle his queen as soon as possible, so I immediately went for a Queen trade (within 4 moves I think). It worked out and I ended up winning! I still can’t beat Sven but hey

      Everytime I attack his queen with my knight he just ignores it. After that I win. Everytime. I find him easier than Nelson. I hope that helps you defeat my Slav bro. I troll him now by playing bongcloud against him. Tutorial: if sven plays the french against you (you BETTER be playing white), you play the magnificent bongcloud against him. He will bring his queen out, so you have to first defend everything, then attack his queen.

    One of my friends uses a queen attack very early on.
    I've managed to defend it using a Knight so they can't move their queen without losing their piece

    I'm a bit late to this video, but it's been invaluable! I'm a 500 ish scrub and managed to beat a 700 who tried an early wayward Queen, all thanks to this (and getting caught out by these attacks a few dozen times in the past...)

    Really happy this showed up in my recommended videos! I've been trying to get better at chess and I still struggle with early Queen attacks. I can usually stop the attack, but I can never punish them for doing so (usually losing pieces trying to).     My chess experience is almost entirely online. When I look at the screen I see the coordination of pieces, which square I control, files, diagonals... etc.
    But when I play otb all I see is random pieces and I cannot really concentrate.
    This subject doesn't exist in internet. Please help!

      you mean irl board? just practice or buy a better chessboard with better pieces.
      some chessmen out there are made out of cheap plastic that makes kings and queens hard to distinguish so yeah just find a good chessboard.
      this problem also happens in irl shogi, irl go and irl backgammon so dont worry its not just you. just practice and stare at the board.

      Buy a real board, and play 15 or 30 minute online games but make all the moves on the board so you can learn to recognize the same patterns, and even if you have no one to play irl chess with this still works

    The scholars mate and the wayward Queen attack are two classic games that beginners need to play & experience ASAP as they start their journey playing 1.e4 e5 moves. Also taking your time to really study the board before making the first move that comes into your head is a difficult skill to master. Lasker gives good advice: "When you see a good move, look for a better one."

    The 2nd player did a great job, he reach to go into the final stage ALIVE, 😱 And have you seen his Elo? 710 WOW!!! This guy even loosing his rook at the end, maybe because of the nervous, is my absolute hero, and the king 👑 of heroes of every single beginner in the world 🗺, even been forced to play a premature queen attack. I will say it again, this guy is my hero.

    I watched the first breakdown and got excited. Started a game (800s) and immediately was confronted with that exact attack by white. Opponent was up 2 pawns before he resigned on move 12. I guess he didnt like his queen antics being defended so well! Thanks Gotham!
