@34:20 As you mis clicked, and as I watch this game, I feel like an apprentice woodworker watching a master of Joinery. (What is a more relatable analogy? What do ppl do most, and can related to most? Maybe... I feel like someone who is learning how to parallel park, while you are drifting.)
I admire people who are parents, but I could never hack the idea of signing up for that, given all the responsibility and issues. In an overpopulated world, it's NOT like we need everyone to be parents, and society trying to PRESSURE people to have more kids is COMPLETELY insane overall. But it's great when he gets involved because he knows he apparently needs to now and again.
I don't really like playing bots, they don't play like humans. I think they just do either the perfect stockfish move or X percent of "random legal move" and X goes down as rating goes up.
Before strong engines, like in the 80's and early 90's for commercial inexpensive chess programs, it was amazing and bizarre the way computers were strong in very different ways than humans, re the kind of things each grasped.
Fun Fact: The triple battery when formedQ with two rooks on directly.i front of it ( so like QD8 RAD7 RBD6) is known as "Alekhines Gun". Named after WCC Alexander Alehkine from a game in which he defeated Nimzowitsch in Sanremo 1930, ending with this tactic! Happy NY love your streams Nelson they made me a four figure elo player (555 to 1100 lol). You will definitely reach 2500 by the of the first quarter in 2025 ❤️
I did wonder at that point if you gave white the draw option in the last game, but you didn't say anything so I assumed I missed something. Thank goodness for the recap to vindicate me, felt VERY good that I spotted that one!
Love these videos. Nelson can try out random gambits, blunder pieces, have 90 seconds on the clock and you just know he's going to demolish the opponent in the endgame. I'm not undervaluing his overall play whatsoever, i love watching his calculations, but as someone who's only been playing for a year, it's that rapid-fire endgame stuff that just blows my mind.
I'm a 1000 and I saw the draw with Qxd4. Not that I would have forced it as white though, position seemed pretty equal (unless I knew I was playing Nelson, then I would def been content with the draw 😁). Great vid as always, keep it up! 💪🏻
I saw that bishop back and forth repetition during the 4th game. Was giving you some serious side-eye when you decided taking pawn on d4 was still fine!
I beat a guy with the Nakhmanson at a local bar, and after the game he told me he thought I was drunk, until he realized that all those sacrifices had a purpose.
1:03:10 I thought taking the pawn would blunder your queen to the same tactic you explained in the previous game, but after bishop check > knight takes bishop, your knight now defends your queen.
8.. Kf6 is the best move actually and refutes the opening. Difficult to play as black if you don't know the lines though. Also, the refutation goes 8. Qd5+ Kf6 9. Re1 Ne7 10. Qxe4 Kf7 11. Bg5 cxb2 12. Rab1 a5. Still a long tricky game to win with black but this is how Black can refute it. The main idea behind a5 is Ra6 in lines.
I will say I saw that draw with the B forcing repetition and was yelling at the video at that point. But I'm a defensive player and tend to look for things like that when being adventurous with a major piece.
Can you make a short talking about the theory behind trading the queen for 3 pieces? I've heard you talk about once before but that was over a year ago I think.
01:08:37 in the game i was thinking that he played a3 because he see the idea of the perpetuel draw, but when you said my queen will be abel to escape i trusted you, and i was like: i miss somthing for sur. 😂😂😂😂
He’s referring to analysis with engine assistance apart from actually playing. It’s so funny how sensitive the chess world has become to cheating that we are so easily triggered by certain phrases. And yet there are more cheaters every day. Nelson’s integrity assures me he will never join their ranks
Hey Nelson! I hope you try to play your Scandinavian lines against this level. It could be helpful for us “Me” who are playing the scandi because of you.
ofc Game Review shows it as a mistake....nevermind the fact that White went from completely winning to Black being able to draw the game no matter how many pieces you bring into the attack... Black can thwart all of them. what a silly game mechanic
I actually saw that repitition but as he was 24 points higher in rating he would have lost points. In such a case you don't look for draws in the middle game
In such a bad position it doesn't matter if you're higher or lower rated, if you don't do that, you lose, which is even worse than a draw. I also saw that, but the guy nelsi was playing against did not see that. If I was in that case playing against a lower-rated player, I would still accept the draw, because -1 point is better than -10 anyway
I love these rating climb videos, I've actually improved so much by watching them.
Agreed - and when I feel like I’m making a lot of mistakes I go back and watch older videos
@@hemskey I also do the same 😂
I have started cooking rice every time I play a game. My rating has gone up 100% Thanks for the advice!!!
😅😅😅
I have been cooking rice for years and im only 600 and dropped 100 these last two days
@Smellslikebacon-su8cx you have to take time to go check the rice in between moves 🍚..
Rice cooker = cheater in case you didn’t know
@Smellslikebacon-su8cx I would use more butter

14:13 the madladdin g sling 😂 never fails to bring a smile to my face. Please make a video of only the Madladdin g sling 🙏🏾
sounds like a borat outfit
Nakhmanson Gambit just gave me my first ‘Brilliant’. !!!!
Thank you for these videos. I'm still a rookie but these videos have helped me grow as a player
Being a rookie in chess is a good thing. You've come a long way from being a simple pawnie)
I would love to see an attempt at playing the Traxler Counterattack as a response to the Knight Attack in the Italian Game.
“That is not an exceptional fork” 😅
As a kid I would have said "Nor is it an exceptional spoon" and gotten some adult irritated... Hey, the 60's and 70's were pre-frequent-meme days.
"Look at these amazing knights. I bet my opponent wishes they had knights like mine" lol
Going to name my next pet “madladdin g sling”
*next child
That’s a passive move. Give it the boldness it deserves and name your child madladdin g sling.

Love all your rating climbs, thanks Nelson!
What is his actual rating?
You should make a video explaining when you should make exceptions to opening principles (ex. capturing away from center)
Except that will be a lot more from experience than an easily categorized list, IMO. Not a bad idea, but has its limitations re usefulness is all.
“That is NOT an exceptional fork.” LOL.

I'm curious how Rad7 and Rbd6 works tbh
Another great video. Try the Vienna game / gambit please.
37:42 is a great example of Nelson's teaching skills. Thanks Nelson!
It's totally cool with me that you have to take time to address things with your kids. I have two under 3 and I know that world well.
Awesome video as usual. Always learn and enjoy!

Much better than the screaming/tantrums so many 2 year olds tend to indulge in.
Thanks for another v instructive video ! That Stockfish makes the game look so easy🤣

57:41 important to check for Nb5, otherwise it could be the repetition of rice cooker game

Can you make a short talking about the theory behind trading the queen for 3 pieces? I've heard you talk about once before but that was over a year ago I think.
Hey, Nelson, would you try a wing gambit against the Sicilian?
Thank you.

1:41 wrong!! Kf6 is actually the best move
At 58:07 White could have had a draw by repetition with Be3, Bf4, repeat. Maybe White did not know this was a rating climb account.
Adicted to your channel sir Nelson , and your voice is so satisfying

I actually saw that repitition but as he was 24 points higher in rating he would have lost points. In such a case you don't look for draws in the middle game
In such a bad position it doesn't matter if you're higher or lower rated, if you don't do that, you lose, which is even worse than a draw.
