Do more openings you don't know it's really helpful to watch you think through unfamiliar situations and problem solve on the fly rather than saying 'I know this is the right move'
@34:20 As you mis clicked, and as I watch this game, I feel like an apprentice woodworker watching a master of Joinery. (What is a more relatable analogy? What do ppl do most, and can related to most? Maybe... I feel like someone who is learning how to parallel park, while you are drifting.)
I don't really like playing bots, they don't play like humans. I think they just do either the perfect stockfish move or X percent of "random legal move" and X goes down as rating goes up.
8.. Kf6 is the best move actually and refutes the opening. Difficult to play as black if you don't know the lines though. Also, the refutation goes 8. Qd5+ Kf6 9. Re1 Ne7 10. Qxe4 Kf7 11. Bg5 cxb2 12. Rab1 a5. Still a long tricky game to win with black but this is how Black can refute it. The main idea behind a5 is Ra6 in lines.
Love these videos. Nelson can try out random gambits, blunder pieces, have 90 seconds on the clock and you just know he's going to demolish the opponent in the endgame. I'm not undervaluing his overall play whatsoever, i love watching his calculations, but as someone who's only been playing for a year, it's that rapid-fire endgame stuff that just blows my mind.
I saw that bishop back and forth repetition during the 4th game. Was giving you some serious side-eye when you decided taking pawn on d4 was still fine!
Hey Nelson! I hope you try to play your Scandinavian lines against this level. It could be helpful for us “Me” who are playing the scandi because of you.
Can you make a short talking about the theory behind trading the queen for 3 pieces? I've heard you talk about once before but that was over a year ago I think.
I actually saw that repitition but as he was 24 points higher in rating he would have lost points. In such a case you don't look for draws in the middle game
In such a bad position it doesn't matter if you're higher or lower rated, if you don't do that, you lose, which is even worse than a draw. I also saw that, but the guy nelsi was playing against did not see that. If I was in that case playing against a lower-rated player, I would still accept the draw, because -1 point is better than -10 anyway
No it is because he reported a cheater, hut a friend knew the cheater and said he wasnt cheating he was cooking rice in his cooker (explaining why moves took so long)
The bishop was giving a check, so you have to deal with that threat. However, he might have a tactic right there he missed by blocking the check with the bishop or knight.
I love these rating climb videos, I've actually improved so much by watching them.
Agreed - and when I feel like I’m making a lot of mistakes I go back and watch older videos
I have started cooking rice every time I play a game. My rating has gone up 100% Thanks for the advice!!!
😅😅😅
I have been cooking rice for years and im only 600 and dropped 100 these last two days
@Smellslikebacon-su8cx you have to take time to go check the rice in between moves 🍚..
Rice cooker = cheater in case you didn’t know
@Smellslikebacon-su8cx I would use more butter
“That is not an exceptional fork” 😅
Thank you for these videos. I'm still a rookie but these videos have helped me grow as a player

Going to name my next pet “madladdin g sling”
*next child
That’s a passive move. Give it the boldness it deserves and name your child madladdin g sling.
@@QDWhiteThats a very aggressive Marriage Gambit, im not sure i recommend it
I actually heard g-sTRing :D
Real
14:13 the madladdin g sling 😂 never fails to bring a smile to my face. Please make a video of only the Madladdin g sling 🙏🏾
"Look at these amazing knights. I bet my opponent wishes they had knights like mine" lol
We all know he's secretly running a daycare center.. 😊
I would love to see an attempt at playing the Traxler Counterattack as a response to the Knight Attack in the Italian Game.

I like when the computer sometimes says "eh..." and just ignores a threat, and it turns out to be 100% logical when you really think about it 🤣🤣
I don't really like playing bots, they don't play like humans. I think they just do either the perfect stockfish move or X percent of "random legal move" and X goes down as rating goes up.
@15:40 uh oh daughter alert! looks like Nelson used "Stopping children from fighting" "gambit!

Love all your rating climbs, thanks Nelson!

Another great video. Try the Vienna game / gambit please.
I saw that bishop back and forth repetition during the 4th game. Was giving you some serious side-eye when you decided taking pawn on d4 was still fine!
43:55 Quite the 'eye' sore!
This is a very helpful video. I learn chess and along with that I also get to learn English. 😂
Thank you
It's totally cool with me that you have to take time to address things with your kids. I have two under 3 and I know that world well.
57:41 important to check for Nb5, otherwise it could be the repetition of rice cooker game
"My 2 years old is having a moment there" 😂😂😂
Nice to see another Jobava London.
Nelson, your time management is exactly like Ding Liren's one. When he was playing with Gukesh
You should make a video explaining when you should make exceptions to opening principles (ex. capturing away from center)
“That is NOT an exceptional fork.” LOL.
Sensei, would you kindly consider playing the London System in one of your games? I am not a member of the channel, but I actively watch your content.
16:00 sweet that you had to look after your 2-year-old. I was worried you'd lose on time.
42:37 What is that?! that is NOT an Exceptional Fork 🤣🤣🤣
The mad lad g-string is just such a crazy opening
Hey Nelson! I hope you try to play your Scandinavian lines against this level. It could be helpful for us “Me” who are playing the scandi because of you.
Adicted to your channel sir Nelson , and your voice is so satisfying
Can you make a short talking about the theory behind trading the queen for 3 pieces? I've heard you talk about once before but that was over a year ago I think.
Great episode
we're gonna call you Ding Junior Nelson .. taking 6 minutes to move 😅
Well to be fair he’s offering instructions on why he’s making the moves he is so we all can follow the logic
@michaelmassaro4375 uhhh .. yeah . it was a joke bud . try laughing 😃 😆
it may be a joke but.. isnt Nelson older since he cant be "Ding junior"? 🤔
That genius mouse slip 😂
Blackburne-Kloosterboer Gambit would be good to see, Nelson
I remember doing a lot of remote video it work with kids that age. There's nothing you can do about it if they need input.
Traxler Counterattack:
1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bc4 Nf6
4. Ng5 Bc5
Jonathan Schrantz would be proud!
13:06 How is a6 the top engine move? That's how bad the position is
There was nothing black could do against that checkmate threat, so there was every move equally losing
@chess26622 Yeah, I figured that, but it was funny to see stockfish give up this hard. That pawn isn't even attacking anything
@@enderyu Stockfish did not give up, it just realised that there was no move that could save the game for black at least for a few more moves
@chess26622 Chill, dude, it was just a joke
Vienna gambit / Danish gambit would be cool
Very happy I spotted the draw in game four
Next time you see the Scandinavian can you try the ICBM Gambit plz.
the speedrun is theickening

People don’t actually lose rating on a draw do they ?
I appreciate your appreciation of btfl chkmates😊
MadladanG is ❌❌❌
why not RxB @ 5:00
Because you’d lose your rook??
8:39 why couldn't he just go to G8 with his king?
What is RICE in the stats?
cheaters, basically when he gets cooked like rice when someone abuses stockfish
cheaters
No it is because he reported a cheater, hut a friend knew the cheater and said he wasnt cheating he was cooking rice in his cooker (explaining why moves took so long)
What does RICE stand for
Cheating
Norwegian Gambit?
why didnt he fork with a knight at23;21

noxington ? gambit ?? wow
Nakhmanson
