*The swamp is a land of illusions and apparitions. Ghosts of the ones who never came back from the mist are now damned to wander these silver waters for eternity.*
Thanks for restoring all of this music. I used to play this game all the time on my dad's Windows 98 back in the day but I never beat it. I bet the disc is still somewhere in my parents' basement. I haven't been down there in years
"Sleep is for the dead, and death is for the slumbering." Note: Despite the fog overlay this is the easiest screen to read. I did some checking on the saying because it sounded similar and mostly got redirected to articles discussing bodies waiting in graves, sleeping, to be judged by God after death, also known as "soul sleep". I also got redirected to hustle culture articles and a song by Enterprise Earth.
I did my best to stay awake in this level, but in the end still fell asleep, as it is the only way to progress. I wonder, if you fall asleep earlier on purpose, can you end this section quicker?
if you're willing to burn the moon-murder on the aspect of the dream fight to one shot it, but it's not recomended as moon-murder comes in much more handy later (especially in that ONE section in the citadel, the moon mage does not have enough health for that place)
I got stuck on this level for a while because I didn't realize falling asleep didn't instakill you, but it was OK. Not my favorite all things considered.
These tracks are great! I’m hoping to get a copy of the book this next print, but I’ll be listening to these as I read it. Is there anywhere you have a download of the full OST?
Sadly, it appears the only way to get out is to sleep, and fight the aspect. I’ve tried to go as far as I can, but it seems endless until you fall asleep.
no, THERE IS A WAY OUT, i cleary remember while playing with the wast of life, it was a weekend late night and i was like 2 or 3 hours into the game while my parents where sleeping, and i remember founding the end of the fog, but then i turned off the game, little kid me was to scared of the illusions lol, when i turned it back on i was back in the beginning tho, guess i didnt save :/, i mean IT COULD just have been another illusion, but i have never seen a cave in any other one to this point
omg these are so great!!! you don't happen to share MIDI files of these tracks do you? would love to try and run them through my Roland Sound Canvas to try and see if i can emulate those old D&D SSI games of the era
I didn't produce any MIDI tracks for the current OST. (I'd have to look up how to do that with FL Studio), I have no issue providing them to other artists though. But I don't have access to my studio PC at the moment, so it may be more tricky to get the MIDI, which ones would you be after?
I love this track! I think the ambient wind blowing does a lot for it. I was wanting to check and see if you would be okay if I used this for an upcoming retro game style video im making?
Huge fan. I love the calming effect of this song. Could you upload your music to a file hosting site so people can listen to it with their mp3 players?
The original plan was to make the "OST" available to download when finished and offer a cleaned version without the retro wave compression. But I don't mind uploading the song as is if people want it. Is there a preferred website for downloading songs?
I still can't get over how STUPID this part of the game really was. You have to find just the right patch of dry earth for your PC to erect his/her tent, and even after that's done, you need to wait for the PC to actually fall asleep. Try to imagine my shock when I checked online all these years later only to discover some gamers were forced to wait twelve hours for their PC's to finally nod off. _Twelve. Hours._ What am I supposed to do during that time, just soak up the atmosphere? I don't know if the game developers thought they were being artsy-fartsy or what, but there's a critical line between ambition and pretentious dreck. You guys are nostalgic over the most overrated point-and-clicker ever made, IMO.
Yes, to a degree. I released the entire album under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 This means you can use it in your noncommercial projects, remix it, etc. As long as you credit me.

Just got the book and I am absolutely enthralled in the worldbuilding. Gonna re-read each section with this OST. Absolute bangers.

Fake news
'My dad's windows 98'
Ah yes, I loved my old windows 98, that thing could really sing.
Plastiboo himself, love it! Congrats man! I sent him the link !!

If you're playing as the Rat Man you get some pretty interesting dialogue if you manage to get close to the Damsel phantom
Lmao I had to try it
The swirling effect looks really cool. I like all the artwork you've done for these videos.
I just started reading vermis and these songs go perfect with it
Fell asleep to this. Never woke up. It's so cold...

Love your work man

I feel weirdly sleepy.
This is the dream, this is the silver swamp.
Luxury for the dead, ill fortune for the living.
Afterall, a god died here.

Here you go: bordyceps.bandcamp.com/album/vermis-soundtrack-restored (probably not complete, but I will add more as I finish them)
@@bordyceps Thank you!
Legit question. How could one make it out of the silver swamp. Can you get more mushrooms?
Sadly, it appears the only way to get out is to sleep, and fight the aspect. I’ve tried to go as far as I can, but it seems endless until you fall asleep.

Actually this got me stuck for a while. If you fall asleep it's the only way through.
@eclipsa906 actually it is possible to get in there, it's a secret challenge level.

Did anyone else notice the slight music change if you have the dread state? Or was that just me?
I think this level had the best boss, yes it is true that your stats are reduced when you fall asleep, but man if it was fun.
Did you guys ever find the key?
Why... Is my armor... So heavy?

Not a public one 😔
