I ended up buying a copy based solely on this video. I have to say, I'm extremely pleased with it. It's even better reading it in person bc of all the details the book presents. I especially loved it's NPCs and how they handle their storyline/quests. Both the first and second books are only 15$ each. Worth it.

Reminds me of a weapon from Darksiders. Affliction; essentially a green bladed katana that leaves wounds which fester endlessly after but a single, needle-thin cut. It only ever appeared in the Abomination Vault book and comics, which I hate but understand; it’s essentially a weapon that can kill anything given enough time. Cut something once, and it’ll die eventually no matter what you do, save in the case of Abaddon. so it makes some sense for II not to be available to players.
i bought both volumes from a comic store in London and couldn't stop raving about them to my friend who accompanied me. my ADHD rant ended up talking two other random customers into buying them 😂 fantastic works of art and a must have for horror/dark fantasy enthusiasts!
I absolutely love vermis! I bought both the first and second book, and also i was the first one - in the world - to buy the hardcover editions of both hand signed by plastiboo himself (who visited my town about a month ago at an independent art festival) I am so happy that finally someone did a good vid on vermis's lore, so more people can discover this hidden gem.
The choice of music is simply divine. Much reminding me of reasons why I first started listening to dungeon synth. Oh i just so wish i found out about these books before the first one became sold out!

"Age of decadence" and "The pale city". Age of decadence is an old rpg with a small cult following that relay heavily on player options. The setting is a post apocalyptic roman world where the ancient empire collapsed after a war between interdimensional gods and demons summoned by magi-tek. You can follow different routes that can be completed through social manouvering conspiring your way to victory. The pale city is an obscure rpgmaker game with a unique combat system that requires a little bit of mastery were you can't just spam attacks your way to victory (in a sense similar to Fear and hunger) and you need to use counter attacks and parry. The synopsis of the game says it all: "...A world where children aren’t born-they crawl out of tunnels in the ground. A lone city, beneath the gaze of a silent god, home to strange cults who eat the dead. Everyone has praised the original work and the video aplenty, as they should, so I just wanted to mention that the transition from the thumbnail to the video was both very much appreciated -as it makes the thumbnail something beyond an interchangeable click-grabber- and wonderfully done. Really got me. Besides that? I guess nobody has expressed directly that the video is just concise enough (not that I'd complain if there were even more information!), speaks of various aspects of the world and it's all structured just perfectly to fit both the overall theme of the work and smaller details along the way! The opening conversation reminded me of a rather disturbing passage about how snake venom could make rats almost seem like they were peaceful whilst being devoured. Obviously this isn't good for the rat and only serves the snake's goals by making it resist less. On the other hand, the rat is likely dead at that point, and their last moments might as well be spent in delusional bliss as much as reality. Let me just note this down in my book of fucked up short stories, probably would fit right in as part of a collection in some library on Vermis.

I've met the creator and publisher of vermin back in march at a Publisher Con in italy and in the presentation where they showed Vermin I didn't thought much of it, it was a cool concept to string together art and writings with a common vibe but I guessed it was just something nice to look at. And then I watched this video ! This is amazing, trying to guess the lore of a book for a game that never existed, a brilliant idea !
