My pothos was dying after hanging in the kitchen for ~20 years. I didn't want to give up on it so I cut off all the rotting parts until I was left with a 4 inch green stem. After about a month it slowly started getting it's first new, healthy green leaf again. Really tough plants. They're also great air-cleaners.
Over 25 years my mom was given one single leaf clipping. After 15 years it was a dozen full pots. And a huge section of yard. We moved and she left all but one. In about 5 years that one pot became a dozen again plus a garden patch and 2 walls. About 5 years ago she moved once again and my sister and i moved out of state, to different states. My mom is back up 4 or 5 and a garden patch. This some my mom brought my sister and I each one tiny clipping so that we may continue the legacy of that one clipping from 25 years ago so we may continue to pass it down. Its someone very special we share.
@squidleyskidley S.E. Texas. But even the bad freeze they had a few years ago didn't kill them. Their comon name is Devil's Ivy because it's nearly impossible to actually kill them for good.
@@squidleyskidley they're tropical plants from what I've learned that grow on the ground getting low to medium light. So they can definitely be planted on the ground but where it's moist.
It's nicknamed devil's ivy for a reason. I bought one for $5 plant that had 8 half rotted plants clumped together 4 years ago. I now have 20 plants, and I could have more if I propegated them.
Thanks, I actually feel much better about accidentally repotting my photos into a pot with poor drainage (it needed to be repotted and I didn't have any other pot big enough on hand 😅)
you are entirely correct😂 if you want it to look even more beautiful you do need to give it some more care but it still looks beautiful when its reaching for the light and not as lush and bushy.
I got one from a friend and after 2 years of neglecting it by keeping it at 10°C in winter and periodically over and under watering it, I just have a small cutting in a jar left. I hope I can regrow it. :(
Well somehow i killed 3 and seem to be working on 4,5,6 and 7...i dont know what im doing wrong its in good drainage soil its next to a window and under a grow light..i water every other week...i dont know what doing wrong but they hate it here😂
Every other week works for me with pothos in summer. If you water them every other week in fall or winter it's gonna suffer! (I'm talking about pothos not directly in a south facing window a.k.a cactus strength light levels, that's probably too much 😅)
Are your cats very curious?! Cuz I got 2 cats and currently own around 6 pothos. Ok well all of the indoor plants I have supposedly toxic for pets but mine are not curious pets.
Okay but that moon pot is exquisite 🥹
Amazon!
My thoughts exactly. I would buy that instantly.
@@Easygrowing_can you Provide a Link? I have been searching forever now but i can’t seem to find it 😢
100% agree. I almost always recommend people start with a pothos in a jar of water as their first plant
Oor I’ll do you one better wax leaf plants they don’t mind you forgetting to water they love indirect light and a little direct and grow so quickly

Pothos are the absolute best! I rescued a nearly dead one from the grocery store for $5 and it's big and beautiful now just 6 months later
It’s the moisture and humidity from the shower ❤ it is able to pull water from the humidity and that is all it needs to thrive ❤
Pothos are Superior plants... Almost impossible to kill. I love them all varieties ☀️
It's getting moisture every time somebody takes a shower in there from the humidity
I say this all the time. They are by far the best starter plant ❤

What area does she live in? Where can it grow outdoors?!

Oooo love that planter!!

Yes and heartleaf philodendrons!
Give it some loveee 😭😭😭😭
I have a cebu blue pothos and she's so gorgeous and so easy to take care of!! Would highly recommend 😊
My mom has had one for close to 40 years now!!
Thanks, I actually feel much better about accidentally repotting my photos into a pot with poor drainage (it needed to be repotted and I didn't have any other pot big enough on hand 😅)
I found a dying pothos by my dumpster and I was like, omg free pothos! I cut it up and re-grew it and now it's thriving!
Is that moon meant to be a plant pot? or is it just repurposed as one because it looks cool?
There's reason they're in offices everywhere....they can handle abuse of spoiled coffee and neglect
I must have a different breed 😂😂.my moody pothy needs constant attention she a beauty so i dont mind. You planter is beautiful
Thank you!
yes! i did kill every "unkillable" type of plant but pothos truely is the only unkillable one.
it is in your bathroom tho. So probably gets a good amount of moisture from the air
We hardly ever use this bathroom because there’s no shower
@@Easygrowing_ Ah I see. Maybe not then :P
Yes they’re great

I don’t want it to look like anything but alive 😂
Im convinced pothos and snake-plants want to be neglected lol
Meanwhile my pothos dies 4 times if i just give it a little water too early. Its si bad ive grown like 10 baby offshoots just in case
Oooooh where'd you get the pot?
amzn.to/3MxmdDl
Because it’s in a bathroom with humidity…
This bathroom isn’t used, so no humidity 😉
Nice ❤
I have a Bonsai tree gifted to me by my parents, I don't care for it but it refuses to die

Get a root starter! They do work.
@@pineappledoesbelongonpizza9975 thank you, I'll try :)
This is funny because I was soo proud of myself the leaves on mine are fivken huge

Mine is currently dying 😅
💯
But once it stays in low light it dies
I still managed to kill mine 😂
Can't keep them alive. I have over 200 plants
Yt people putting dirt above their showers....... 😮💨
It looks truly awful…it’s bald, it’s drooping and it’s so dusty.
sadly toxic for cats
