- On Friday, June 13, 1980, a 30-year-old mother of two named Betty Gore was discovered murdered in her Wylie, Texas home. Betty Gore had been struck with an ax after confronting her friend, Candy Montgomery about an affair with her husband, Allan Gore. Candy Montgomery stood trial and told jurors she had killed Betty in self-defense after her friend flew into a rage and threatened to kill her.

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this case! Have you seen the 5 part series, Candy, on Hulu yet?
I just finished it and I loved it!!!♥️♥️
Yes, I watched it last night. It was pretty good, and I enjoyed all the old things like the phones. They did a great job replicating the 80's look. I had read this book on the case a very long time ago. I think Betty may have had some post partum depression going on, but ai still believe 41 whacks was overkill, and a not guilty verdict was not even logical.
@@dorothykilgallenwasmurdere1653 YES I AGREE! A not guilty verdict was not logical and 41x was SURELY an overkill.
I watched the Hulu series last night; the trailer was enthralling, and l love Melanie Lynskey. But omg. If you haven’t watched it, don’t. It was excruciatingly slow, and it’s about an axe murderer! How do you make that boring?!
I’ve not watched it yet but after seeing this I’m very very curious now so definitely will watch it , I found your channel 2 days ago and literally binge watched all of your uploads, looking forward to your next investigation 💖😊
The tiny town of Wylie, TX is my hometown. I was born there in the 60s, when the only hospital was the Wylie Clinic. My older sister lived across the street from Betty Gore. Her and her new husband had just recently moved there. She worked at the insurance company owned by Richard Parker, the man Allen Gore called on that Friday night to check on Betty. Allen was a customer of the insurance company and was in the office frequently. None of us could believe what had happened. 1980 was one of the hottest summers on record for us. We had more than 100 days where the temperature was over 100 degrees that summer. Small town America was safe back then. My grandmother lived next door to us, and most summer evenings were spent with neighbors visiting on each other's porches. I remember how scared my mom and grandma were in the days before we knew who the killer was. We thought a crazed ax murderer was on the loose, and could strike at any moment. In the first couple of days after the murder, the news stated that police believed it was a woman due to the size of the footprints that were left in blood. This scared us even more. My grandma said that a strange man would cause a woman to be cautious, but a strange woman walking up to your house probably wouldn't. My now husband and I went to see The Shining that Saturday night, June 14th, not knowing that the movie had ax murders in it. You did a great job on covering this case, Armchair Investigator!
yep it can scary anyone. im wondering what people rumored about Candy? is it true what she said on a trial? maybe she has an intention to kill or its not about "shhh" at all?
I can't believe a jury bought self-defense! One or two strikes with the axe but more than that is not self-defense
At the end of the day this lady got away with murder and she is still living a good life.
I still can't process the fact that she hit Betty with an ax 41 times and you mean to tell me that's self-defense... Candy should not have gotten away with murder. I can't believe it. Not to mention her husband stayed with her afterwards and after two affairs like WHAT.
Absolute simp. No wonder she cheated.
Do more research it’s crazy what Candance(real name) did after this! She actually became get this… A FaMiLy Councilor 😮!!! Her daughter became a lawyer so Candy went to work for her!!! They moved to Georgia and she changed her name!
Like WHAT..
@@monicamcgahan omg🙈. Man. I cannot believe she didn’t get any time at all. 41 times and banging the victims husband? It boggles she got OFF. I’m sure god wouldn’t mind if I said Good God. I’m sure he feels the same.
I definitely agree but also you do realize Betty tried to kill candy first and she was determined. I think she should’ve got some time plus on mandatory therapy sessions with a psychologist because that was a trauma response (41 times with an axe)
The implication is terrifying. It implies that a person can kill someone he/she hates by paying a random visit to their house, kill the person using what's available in the house, then claim self defense and walk away without any charges.
Terrifying really, and absurd
Don't believe in divorce, but believes in an affair. Yeah right.
Not only was justice not served in for Betty when Candy brutally murdered, but both series paint a picture of Betty Gore in such a cruel light. Why would Betty still let her daughter sleep there if she knew her husband had an affair with her? Not any women I know. I believe she saw Candy as a trusted friend. My theory is Betty confided to Candy that she was worried that she was pregnant again & this enraged her. I believe it's possible that Candy has narcissistic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies. She had this persona to the outside world, but deep down, she had a dark side. Her ability to give Betty a baby shower while sleeping with her husband, to be her friend, lie right after the murder & plea self-defense would never have happened today. It's sickening to think she is a licensed therapist. Being a social worker myself, I can not fathom how she ever was granted a license to practice. I feel so sorry for The Gore family to have to relive this horrific tragedy, especially as both series paint her as a sweet lady who was a victim rather than the axe murdering psychopath she really is. Talk about privilege.
I think that betty definitely initiated the violence, if it weren't for the axe being the weapon I'd agree with your idea but the fact that it was at the house and in a location she wouldn't have known makes it likely that betty started by either threatening or trying to attack candy. Still, she went way past the requirement of reasonable force for self defence pretty insane she got away with it
And just what label would you put on that privilege? They were the same race. Same economic background…there was no privilege. Just a verdict you disagree with🙄
@@elliotpatten2277 the axe was normally located in the garage and the attack happened in the utility room which if you look at the blueprint of the house at 16:22 you can see the utility room is attached to the garage. If Candy went in the utility room to get the swimsuit and the garage door was open she would likely have been able to see the axe herself. Maybe she grabbed it and ambushed Betty in the utility room. I don’t think this was planned, but Candy has some very disturbing patterns of behavior. She was clearly a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Not only was she betraying her husband and kids by having an affair, she was sleeping with her good friend’s husband while her friend was pregnant! Then she had the audacity to give Betty a surprise baby shower, what kind of person would do that? It seemed like if Allan pulled back she’d weasel her way back in by cozying up to Betty or by using their daughters as an excuse. I wonder if she went to the house thinking Alan would be there and then ended up being upset by Betty’s concerns re another pregnancy. Why would Betty write a letter to her mom about what a great friend Candy was if she thought she was sleeping with her husband? It doesn’t make sense.
@@bethwhite3936 white privilege is what it is. Just because they were both white doesn’t mean one of them can’t get off for being white. It’s clear.
Narcissistic alright! Only a narcissist would be able to befriend the wife of her lover & not feel in the slightest bit unnerved by it.
I agree with your theory. It’s the only theory that makes sense.
I can't believe that the jury found her not guilty. That is so wrong
I literally served on a murder trial jury where someone got away with it as well -but they didn’t 100% walk free. They were given the crime of passion sentence. I carry a deep burden of guilt that I should have hung the jury. Trials aren’t justice they are story telling and convincing. You’re doomed if one lawyer presents better than another.
Yes
My one and only thought. Murdering someone and leaving an infant in her crib for hours. 💔Absolutely evil and sick. Thank you for filling in the blanks.
We do not know if the baby was sleeping. It seem natural to be quite disturbed and a wreck in shock after such a fight. I think a person being the one ending someones life after being so scared first being attacked , thoughts might not be normal.
The baby crying when neighbours showed up late night, was not so strange. Hours had gone, baby had to be both hungry and in need for diapers change. Nobody knows how was the baby when she left the house.
@@Yadigar23exactly
Why was she responsible for a woman's baby that tried to kill her? This was Texas and not North Dakota in winter. She knew the kid would be found or was so in shock at almost being killed she was not thinking straight.
@@bobross1829كيف لاتكون مسؤولا عن طفل بلا رعايه 😂وانت السبب في جعله أعزل أما أن تكون انت منحلا أخلاقيا أو مجرد احمق
This is some case! I realize that this was not premeditated, but I happen to believe that Candy's rage stemmed from the fact that she was confronted with her awful behavior and couldn't pretend to be so perfect. I also can't believe that she left a tiny helpless baby alone for hours. Just horrendous all around. RIP, Betty.
I don't think she was even confronted with the affair I believe Betty was telling her she was pregnant again and that set candy off as she was in love with Allan and was angry he broke up with her. Just my opinion
@merryan mcnaughton I think there is some serious merit to your theory... So many questions. Allan moved on pretty quickly too. Who knows when his "relations" with Elise really began... 🤔

@@merryanmcnaughton1310 omg
This is the most well planned affair gone wrong i have ever heard and just trying to imagine that struggle with the Axe it sounds like something straight out of a horror movie omg but scarier.
My conspiracy is that Betty did confront her about the affair but said she’d tell the community / congregation and would destroy her reputation… but then again. How did candy get the ax. I feel that that could’ve been the reason for overkill. Candy’s story or premeditated murder both don’t make sense.
I can’t imagine using the excuse my mom shushed me once when I was 4 as self defense for axing someone 41 times!
How this happened and she got away with completely no consequences is bizarre to me and honestly sickening. The way she went about it whether planned or self defense sounds like she’s completely unhinged mentally and I say this as someone who’s researched a lot I mean a lot of true crime. Patterns are a thing you see and she fits the pattern of a murderer. Candy doesn’t get to have sympathy from me at least.
It can't just be me...but she looked a LOT older than 29, right? 😮
People looked a lot older back in the day. Self-care and age prevention were not a factor like they are today
Never heard of this case till now. Sad all around, who plans an affair like it's a work project or a kids birthday? It's sad that someone lost their life because of others bad decisions.
Such a heartbreaking story. Betty and Allan’s daughters have been left with so many unanswered questions.
Someone lost their life because while they planned on and tried taking a life, theirs was taken due to self defense. No man is worth grabbing an axe and killing the mistress for.
@@Russian-doll Yes, I agree.
@@Russian-doll it wasn't self defense she killed that lady in cold blood and lying about it
@@Russian-doll she lied. If it was self defense, she wouldn’t have hacked Betty 41 times and gorge her eyes out too. She went to Betty’s house with the intention to murder her
Sorry, but if someone had threatened me with an axe, then used it, then ran after me and stopped me from exiting the house when I clearly just wanted to get away...I would fight back too! And it would not be my fault if the other person died in the process. Betty was the instigator in the fight -- she produced the weapon, she was the one keeping the fight going, she was the one who stopped Candy, who was trying to get away from the fight, from exiting the house. It was Betty's fault that tables turned on her. She should have just let Candy leave! Oh, and maybe stop threatening people with axes too.
I don't believe Candy's story of events for a minute.
كل هاذا الهراء اللذي تصدقينه وتبررينه هي قصه كاندي اللتي لا دليل على صحتها والتي قررت المحكمة أن تصدقها 😂
1. I don't think Candy was lying
2. 41 hits with an axe due to a trigger is crazy and she should have been court ordered into an institution until that was no longer an issue.
3. If Betty did attack first which I think she did, she still didn't deserve what happened.
All in all, this was a huge ugly situation that neither of them should have put themselves in. Neither of them were faultless.

Thank you so much for this!!! I’m a big olizabeth Olsen fan and I wanted background info on the candy case! Before I watched love and death this spring I loved the way u told the story!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video! 💛
I’m sorry I don’t agree with you, it was more of a “candy fucking attacked the living hell out of her!” Are u seriously gonna go by candy’s story?!?!!! Let’s be real here, she brutally murdered her. Psycho women!🤦♂️🤔
Well, Betty (Intentional psycho because she went to get the axe to kill Candy) was initially going to do the same thing to Candy, with intent. Psychologically in Candy's mind basically went black, well, she was about to be killed, tried to get away several times but Betty kept up wanting to kill her. So Betty got axe wailed many times because Candy's brain basically shut down from shock. It's self defense on Candy's part, wether people like it, or not.
@@Russian-doll 41 blows shows extreme anger. And the fact that she covered it up shows guilt. She knew Allen didn't believe in divorce, so the only way to get Allen, was to murder his wife.
@@Russian-doll SHE LEFT THE BABY!!! Stop defending that psycho.
@@dorothykilgallenwasmurdere1653 exactly it's not from blacking out. Like oh no I didn't know I wacked someone with a axe that many times. Yeah cause only a psychopath does that 🙄
Was self defense and she triggered candy . The adrenaline was the cause of the overkill.
Candy basically got away with murder. I don't think she actually planned on killing Betty, but for some reason I don't believe that it was self defense either. 41 whacks is an overkill, so what was she protecting herself from at that time. The story that Candy told in the courtroom didn't sound right.
I agree.
Exactly
I think it was self defense and story sounds about right plus anyways don’t know the other side anyways. Plus Betty wasn’t too happy to see her when came over.
@@HeavenlyChainsaw Stop acting like you know for a fact what happened lol. The Hulu series isn’t real it’s acting, silly.
She was murdered by candy and she was pregnant not to forget
Only selfish terrible people start affairs
I think Betty was planning on killing her. That explains why she wrote that letter to her mom and kept it in the room, probably to later use it as defense. Allan is not the type of man this should've happened over, there is no man who's worth THIS, especially him. He didn't care about neither one of them, only himself. He didn't even care about his children and allowed them to be adopted by grandparents once the mother died. Couldn't be bothered to raise them himself, I guess. Candy seems sociopathic for sure, but she tried really hard to keep up the image of a good wife and mother, that I doubt she actually is a sociopath, she's very disturbed woman for sure. Do sociopaths even care about their image? If they do, please educate me. Anyway, I believe it probably was self defense, but she had bottled up anger inside her, and that needed to be addressed and treated. There are no heroes here, only villains. Funniest thing is these people went to church.
I agree with your theory. Obviously you weren’t raised in church. Church folks can be some of the worst ppl. Do awful things in the name of the Lord. I guess I’m a little jaded lol. My dad was a minister the whole time I was growing up and until he died. I’m spiritual but rarely will I attend church
the only reason we have to believe that Betty attacked Candy first is because that’s Candy’s version of events and Candy is a proven liar. Candy showed up to Betty’s house unexpectedly to pick up the swimsuit, the plan was she was supposed to drive Betty’s daughter home later that day. So how would Betty premeditate killing Candy when she didn’t even know she was coming? Also even if she did know Candy was coming it would be a pretty crap alibi to go to all the effort of writing a fake letter to her mom and then have people know that Candy’s last whereabouts were coming to her house to get the swimsuit. It doesn’t make sense. Candy was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Not only was she betraying her own husband and children by having an affair, she was sleeping with her good friend’s husband while she was pregnant. Then she had the audacity to throw Betty a baby shower she didn’t ask for. And she had the audacity to go home and look Betty’s daughter in the face knowing full well she just killed her mother and left her baby sister completely alone in a house with an unlocked door. She is completely self serving and I personally feel she used Betty and her daughter as a way to weasel back into Alan’s life when he ended things. Perhaps she even thought Alan would be home when she showed up unexpectedly to pick up the swimsuit, instead she had a conversation with Betty where it’s likely Betty confided in her “friend” her fear of being pregnant again. This could have set Candy off in a fit of rage which would align much more with Betty’s injuries then the claim of self defense. Betty was slashed multiple times in her face which any expert will tell you is a sign that the killer had a deep hatred and anger towards the victim. People act like axe belonging to Betty must mean that Betty had it first but if you look at the house blueprint at 16:22 you’ll see the utility room was attached to the garage, if that door was open Candy could easily have taken the axe and ambushed Betty when she went to get the daughters swimsuit off of the washing machine.
Sociopaths are the best Chamillions they love to be cool, calm, collect, on the surface but hide there dark thoughts and secrets....ie Teddy Bundy was the same way Candy was popular, cool, calm, collect serial killer and sociopath
هههههههههههه
I've not seen the movies but I remember when this happened. She got away with murder! She then changed her name and moved away to the Atlanta area.
It's difficult to prove murder when the axe didn’t belong to Candy nor was it brought into the house by her. It was Betty’s axe. She initiated the attack. Candy fighting back would be considered self-defence. Not sure about the 41 blows but Candy had an excellent defence team.
Agreed
The fact the axe was “handy” by merely being accesible would be seen as a “weapon of opportunity” in today’s courts.
She wasn’t crazy!!!! She defended herself…..bring a axe out and try to murder me…..I’m gonna def fight back and try to kill my OG killer. Good for her!!!
Lol I'm sure the murderer lady sleeping w her husband was totally telling the truth 😂
After further review of different stories teller on the subject matter - I do believe it was self defense because the murder scenes proofs that it was rough fight and not a clean murder . This is painful and I feel sorry for all of them .
كان دفاعا عن النفس لاكن ليس من قبل كاندي
The prosecution made a huge mistake charging Candy with 1st degree/pre meditated murder instead 2nd degree. She did not plan on killing Betty but she sure as he'll didn't do it in self defense. I hate to admit it but the jury got it right. Candy did not commit 1st degree murder therefore had to acquit her of the charge. Prosecution fucked up and a murderer walked away free as a bird. And yes I saw the hulu series on this. Very compelling.
Room 213..the first room Candy and Alan hooked up in... Isn't that the creepy room in The Shining? Lol
Omg it was same room as shining weird and creepy.

“Nearing 29”
She didn’t look a day under 40 .
Not guilty in Dallas, TX for ANYTHING in 1980 is unimaginable
Lol, right!
I feel so bad for betty that no justice was ever done I don’t care if she started it no way 41 hits was self defense and deserved no prison
She was pregnant also
As a long term doorman , when someone is incapacitated you know instantly their resistance stops . That would be a hit 1 to any upper body cavity or head area . So out of adrenaline ,you continue for 2 more swings and that takes energy and is not instant with a smaller slight frame . So to continue up to 41 and 28 of those were concentrated strikes continuing in the head area . That is not self defence . She may had knowledge of the axes location . They were at each others houses many ,many times . She may have stalked them and been in the garage . I really doubt the motive of Wendy to attack and plan a murder in her own home but Candy and her delusional desires to get rid of her is a lot more plausible . Worst of all is she didn’t come forward and call for help or police and say she was attacked and fought back . Her lack of injury and trying to hide all evidence ,seems to be evading a lot more than self defence . The head injury is when she brought the axe back and hit herself with the butt end, hence it was not a gaping wound like it would have been .
I do not condone Allan's actions but I cannot imagine what it's like for your partner to cheat on you and then they expect everything to go back to normal. Clearly, he was still resentful and did not care to actually work things out with Betty...
The reason Bette confessed to a one night stand was to get Allan to admit that He was cheating on her. He didn't come clean though. He knew bette wouldn't forgive him. He didn't want to destroy her bc she didn't have confidence in herself anyway. There is no proof Bette actually had the one night stand. I believe it was her way of fishing bc she suspected he was having an affair. She loved him too much.
One thing I'm curious about. Bette quit teaching over a ridiculous situation. Teachers have tenure. Its hard to fire teachers bc they have to go through school board and hearings. Like court. Maybe she wasn't as calm and passive as we believe.
To answer you... once you betray your spouse with infidelity- there is no trust. Its the unforgivable sin in a marriage or relationship. Before starting a relationship- you should be free to do so. Cowards cheat.
Betty also cheated once as well…..
I’m conflicted on the true story that happened once Candy went inside the home because we obviously only have her side of things plus whatever the detectives concluded from the living room. I don’t care for the Hulu series because the last episode left so many unanswered questions, it wasn’t juicy enough for it to be the last episode. I hate that Candy was not guilty because no matter how you slice and dice it … 41 times? Really? Left the baby crying… went to swim practice with Betty’s daughter KNOWING her mom is at home dead in cold blood. It’s just so much.
I think that was kind of the point from the Hulu series. The case felt unsolved and unsatisfying because it is. We get one side of the story because sadly the other person isn’t here. That’s why I really liked the last episode that it showed Betty there saying “that’s your story” because we will never really know. It’s not supposed to be satisfying and juicy. And when she disappeared it was like how people were just going to move on and forget about her and her terrible story
@@marissa1665 Yes, I love how they did that with Betty. As soon as she said "that's your story" I was like EXACTLY!
She could have told Alan first time he called worried that Betty wasn't picking up the phone that she was going to check herself regardless of what Alan said. At least she could have reported hearing the baby crying and not let the poor baby suffer for as long as it did.
Love your show and you are a great presenter 😊
Thought this would tell us what is fact, what is not, but literally the entire video is the entire Hulu series.
I did my own research for this video. I was pleasantly surprised to see the accuracy and facts that the Hulu series maintained. It may be one of the best jobs I’ve seen as far as a series/movie being made based on real life events. I couldn’t watch The Girl From Plainville for that reason. @@ArmchairInvestigator When I first read the book I believed Candy's version. I still tend to believe it but so much doesn't make sense.
I do not believe Candy went to that house to murder Betty.
This is legit murder with personal intent. Literally came from watching halfway through the new hbo series (Elizabeth Olsen's one). Yes, the possibility exists that she was telling the truth that betty did start it first, but the way there were literally 41 axe wounds on the poor woman. I believe that Candy even though she said she was over Allan, was not entirely over him. Deep down she wasn't and that stemmed forward into the murder. It's horrible what happened. Self defense or not something isn't right with her and she should have faced some sentence...ANYTHING! A person who is genuinely sorry and disgusted with their own actions would confess entirely to such intent. Pay with time.
I don't believe she deserved to walk scotch free from this because as some jurors said many people get charged and condemned for less. She had support from the church and a good lawyer and people who vouched for her + so much of the evidence back then was tampered with. It's sad that something wasn't properly done...
if someone tries to kill me, i am not really gonna be holding back in my self defense and will be enraged that they even tried to kill me.

Candy sounds like a narcissist she likes to portray herself as perfect and could do no wrong. She did not get her way with her husband she wanted him and not getting her way like she usually does she lost her shit. Poor baby I'm glad she was rescued. Also self defense or not she is a nut. I don't think she liked that Betty was pregnant again she didn't want to cut ties. I think that's why she wanted to keep her kid staying over because she liked to throw that in her face. She was told to stay out of her life and she did not like that. Also bs Betty did not write that note to her mom I don't believe it. Candy wrote that letter in that book that's what I believe. She wanted to make it look like there was no bad blood between them two. There is too much motive and too much bitterness for this to be a self defense. I don't believe it for a second. Most murders done by overkill is always due to it being personal. Not everyone is a narcissist but I don't trust one and I don't believe her for a second.

I thought "Candy" was quite good as a true crime drama mini-series, but I still have my own questions and even subplot conspiracy theories... The verdict is out on Allan, imo - but, I don't wish to get ahead of myself until I know more...
Apparently, there's another televized interpretation of this starring Elizabeth Olsen coming out, and there is also an older film staring Barbara Hershey I have to now watch. It's such an odd paradox how these horrific incidents induce an oddly compelling drive in us, as viewers, to perceive them as entertainment; in stating that, I'm just as guilty! I find it as bizarre as I do disturbing, yet equally intriguing and irresistible. Idk what that says about me, or society, or even human nature.

I hope you do the video on the conspiracies that would be super interesting! Love your channel and the new arm chair investigator series!
Thank you! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel.
@@ArmchairInvestigator I agree, I enjoyed your video and would like to hear about the conspiracies
Wonderful vid, Brooke.
I have always believed that Candy killed Betty because she wanted Allan. There is no way a person would use an axe on someone 41 times in self-defense! I could not ever understand how the jury found her not guilty!
I think when candy was in the utility room she opened the garage and saw the axe, called her in there and WHAM. which is why the body was moved, there was no struggle. she blindsided her as she entered the room and axed her to death and had to move the body because she was in front of the door. which is why the axe was by the fridge instead of the door... which is where it should have been at.
But who drives to someone, leave their car outside, go into the house, WITHOUT a weapon, with the intention of finding a POSSIBLE weapon in a garage to kill them. Doesn't make sense. Also the detectives agreed it was not planned.
@@themultiverseproductions8492لماذا الجميع يغفل عن حقيقة أن كاندي هي صديقة بيتي العزيزه ودائما تدخل منزل بيتي ،اءن كيف لا تعرف كاندي مكان الفاس؟
She had another affair also with her best friends husband.. I just can’t fathom her doing this and getting away with it in Dallas
Betty was a dozen times better than Candy. Candy knew this, that is why she destroyed her when she didn't have to. RIP Betty, rot in hell, Candy, not so sweet now are you?
I think she initially just wanted to defend herself but then snapped
Even scarier that it happened on Friday the 13th 😮
I mean she threatened her with an ax twice in what could’ve only been a few minutes.
no man is worth this NOT ONE
Just made it to the end! Another video of your conspiracies sounds cool! My only conspiracy is that Candy truly did have some deep passionate love for Allen and couldn’t fathom that Betty was pregnant again with their 3rd child. In which that alone could aid in overkill
Oh yeah and who was the other man Candy was sleeping with! I wonder if it was Sherry’s husband lol.
I agree with this I think Betty told candy she was pregnant when she went to pick up the swimsuit and I think candy just flew into a rage
@@TheForeverAshleyIt was her husband, I read the book specifically to find out.
This was fascinating! I had never heard of this case before now. I ran across an ad for the Hula series and googled the name and found your video - and am I glad I did! Now I'm going to check out your channel for more and subscribe. Thanks for posting this - you did a great job on this!
I’m so glad you liked the video! Hope you enjoy my other videos. 💛
I can't believe she was found not guilty . Shabby police work . Shabby jury . They should have at the very least found her guilty of murder in the 2nd degree . Self defense my ass ! When someone comes walking into a room with an axe you make a run for it !
People really need to find your channel. I love the style of your videos and you do a very good job with giving a lot of information about the cases. I am just waitinggggg for poeple to blow up you channel!!
I appreciate you saying that! So happy to hear you enjoyed the video! 💛
Yes, she’s still in Ga. She’s a f****** therapist y’all! I live in Ga myself in the Augusta area. I looked up a recent pic of her and it’s so obvious that she had a good nose job bc you would never guessed it was her if you weren’t looking.
IMO both women were, to one degree or other, unhinged. I’m not suggesting that’s an excuse for such a grisly act. Rather, a confluence of events that resulted in this tragic outcome.
كيف اعتقدت أن بيتي مضطربة ؟بسبب قصه كاندي والمحكمه؟ الأمر فقط أنهم قالوا للقاتل قل لنا ماذا حدث وسنصدقك
Well if it happened the way your described it, it was self defence
Any psychology experts in the comments know if it's possible for a repressed memory to cause someone to go nuts and deliver 41 blows to a person with an ax? I'm a bit suspicious because, as mentioned in the video, the science behind hypnotism and memory recovery is iffy.
ليس حقا ليس لمجرد أن شخصاً قام بالتهديد بالقتل يحتاج لضغوطات أكثر بكثير لكي ينفجر ويجب على الضغوطات أن تكون ذات ارتباط للأحداث
The case of Betty Gore and Candy Montgomery is a complex and multifaceted one, and it is vital to acknowledge that there are two sides to the story. The unfortunate reality is that Betty Gore did not have the opportunity to tell her side of the story. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that Candy Montgomery's actions, which entailed hitting Gore multiple times and attempting to flee the scene, were both wrong and excessive. It should be noted that in a legal context, Montgomery's guilt or innocence would have been determined by a court of law. Therefore the question of her culpability remains a matter of interpretation. Regardless of the legal outcome, it is clear that this tragic event had a significant impact on all involved.
It's complex alright. Jeffrey MacDonald was in prison at the time of this murder in 1980 for killing his own pregnant wife and two children because he snapped on amphetamines back in the winter of 1970. Then three years after this, pick axe murderess Karla Tucker is arrested for the motel murder of a couple committing adultery in Austin. She was a poor white prostitute doped out of her mind and she eventually received the death penalty and was put down in 1998. MacDonald has refused to admit his guilt and has spent forty two of the last forty-four years since his 1979 conviction locked up. Candy Montgomery committed murder to a far worse degree than the other two yet she is as free as a bird. I just don't understand this since she she was a selfish, lying psychopath. Now she is a mental health therapist?
This was two days before I was born. Wild.
Candy disposed of evidence and lied about the murder. And it’s self defense?! Nah, no way. But the time it took place women had never been crazy violent murderers.
Please do one on Jodi arias, or Casey Anthony
Here me out. After watching both the hulu version and the movie. What if Candy was covering for someone else. I was leaning towards the huband. The police might not have done thorough enough work to determine what time the body died and maybe she was killed the night before ( thursday or early friday) before he went on his trip and he called Candy and that she made up the story and orchestrated keeping the daughter, so to look like nothing was wrong. She and the husband was in on it. No one can convince me otherwise. A woman lifting an axe 41 times.....him remarrying months after the trial. They need to reopen tge case. Candy has double jeopardy but not Betty's husband who lives in florida.
That’s just so crazy
Squallid story from the start, very sad and unfair ending
for someone who wanted more spice in her life, this is one of the most boring affairs I ever heard of.
While it in no way excuses murder, this whole situation could have been avoided if a.) they had been transparent about the affair from the get-go (though, Betty still may have confronted Candy all the same), and b.) if Allan had simply not had an affair with someone behind his pregnant wife’s back
The first episode of the movie it seems as IF Allen knew something was, wrong back home. That's what i take from the scene in his hotel bedroom, and when he's eating out with his friend. Like, he's anxious or even panicky.
You know, you’re absolutely right! There is actually speculation that he knew what Candy was planning…
@@ArmchairInvestigator It would not surprise me. But then i thought:"Oh, maybe he was anxious because of his taking out a large sum of money and thought that investigators would think him guilty of the murder because of it. But hmm, still.....
Candy left the baby crying all alone after she killed Betty so how did Betty say that she was GOING to have his baby when she already DID have the baby? Was she pregnant again or was that a mistake? 🤔
Yes, she was pregnant again (or at least she thought she was pregnant cause her period was 6 weeks overdue). However, an autopsy was done on Betty after she died & it showed she wasn’t pregnant afterall.
Your prediction is correct. I’m a new subscriber.
Thank you! 🥺
Thank you so much for this video!!! Used this to write an english presentation about Candy Montgomery for school and wouldn't have been able to finish it without this hahaha
I hope you get an A on your presentation! 💛
That’s so crazy a I have not watched it yet I hope it shows on my network because I so want to see this it’s very interesting crazy women go nuts for other peoples lives I would like to hear more about this 😵💫😲😮😧😦
Would love to see a video similar to this one 👀 soon
I was an extra in the movie coming out with Elizabeth Olsen called Love and Death.
The Hulu movie “Candy” was rushed and details were skipped. I started the movie in Nov and we ended it in May filming all over central TX and Dallas area and I believe they even filmed in Wiley. I didn’t go that far which is 6-8 hrs from where I live.
You were an extra?! What a cool fact!
did you get to meet elizabeth? either way thats super cool!
I agree candy was very rushed on Hulu
Well that’s candy side of the story. This isn’t the real story candy has told 😊
love the video keep it up
Happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Good video
I mean if someone tried to kill me, I’d do the same thing 🤷🏽♀️
But u think is okay to sleep with somebody men
I learned more from this young lady podcaster then I did the movie
Supremely detailed investigative narrative... 🔎 this could easily be a half-hour episode during a prime time show for amateur sleuth fans, such as I.
Wow, thanks so much!
That lipstick takes away from your stunning beauty. Go a shade closer to your hair color, not so bright, maybe warmer colors (the red oranges) than the cooler colors (red-blues). You are gorgeous! I like your video coverage of this story. Liked and subbed! I am watching the hbo series about this, now. I was looking deeper into this story and found your channel.
i am here from Elizabeth Olsen series love and death
Did you enjoy it?? I’m considering watching it!
@@ArmchairInvestigator I am enjoying it. A worthwhile mini series. Thanks for your video. It filled in a few blanks.
Well,if we're talking about looks here, everyone is mediocre so i don't really get your shock abut this ☺
