They were both VERY very very famous. Separately. I saw Linda Ronstadt at Madison Square Garden in NYC in 1977 or 1978! These two were both American cultural icons. Separately. Everyone had all the Linda Ronstadt albums! This is a wonderful duet and I’ve loved it since first hearing it in 1990. I’m glad you liked it too. I saw the pure delight on your face.

They were a 'power couple' only for music, more's the pity. Aaron Neville's voice is angelic! Linda is so very versatile - she's collaborated with many singers. If you want suggestions for hers, I'm really fond of her earlier songs, so "Don't It Make Your Brown Eyes Blue" and "Blue Bayou" are top of that list. Anything Aaron sang is worthy, of course, but try "Everybody Plays the Fool" and "Tell It Like It Is" would be my go-to picks.
And just a reminder - you've already heard one of the best 'power couples' of that period. Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton! And they did the hug and platonic kiss thing too. A lot of duets did the same (and still do, which is why tabloids get so many readers with the gossip). Hope you'll explore these two soon, sir. You definitely won't regret it :)

One of the most beautiful duets. Both have fabulous voices. Also check out Linda's first big hit in 1967 "Different Drum" with The Stone Poneys. Linda Ronstadt grew up in my town, Tucson, & is a legend. The Ronstadt family is well known here. But she was diagnosed with Parkinsons some years ago & can't sing anymore. Look at some of her individual stuff in the 70s. Desperado is a favorite that comes to mind. She has an angelic voice!!!!
