They’re definitely “selling it”. This was actually performed at the Grammy awards and they won it for this song. Aaron was so nervous during the acceptance speech that he forgot to thank his wife until Linda nudged him and reminded him. It was very cute. The affection displayed between them was strictly friendly and professional, not romantic. The producers told them to make it look real and they did. I agree with you that Linda has the voice of an angel. Nice reaction 🎄🌺✌️

That is simply not true. Aaron was happily married to his wife, Joel, from 1959 until her death in 2007. He and Linda were (and still are) good friends with great respect and affection for each other, but their relationship was never romantic. Feel free to look it up 🌸

It always makes me laugh when people assume that a couple singing a love song together must be a couple. The same assumptions aren't made about two people in a movie, even if they're in a passionate love scene. Well, not counting "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" that is.

She is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre from ballads to country to rock. She has had so many hits such as "Blue Bayou", "You're No Good", "Long Long Time", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado" etc. The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs.

Oh my... Where to start with her? I guess by saying, without any reservation, that she is an American national treasure... And by saying so, is still an understatement.
She sings in Spanish as well. (Perfect Spanish) Her father was Mexican and the one who encouraged her in music from the start.
In the sixties , she was one of the first women singing Rock music (which then it was a male dominated genre). She was highly successful at it. ("You are no Good" is one of my favorites) She has also broken into other genres swimmingly making her extremely versatile.
She has had any achievement award you could think of (repeatedly).
My favorite songs by her are:
"Long Long Time", "Heat Wave", "Will you still Love me Tomorrow",
"Tracks of my Tears", "Just One Look" "Somewhere Out There" and a very famous duet with Aaron Neville, "I Don't Know Much" among many ..many others (These are the ones that immediately come to mind).
Being bilingual, I can also appreciate and value her Spanish songs and achievements.
My favorites in that 'Mariachi' department are:
"La Charreada", "Tú, Solo Tú" , "Volver, Volver", "Por un Amor " and "La Cigarra"
Thank you for bringing Linda back and for your reactions to music which I consider priceless. You are an impressive young man. Remain excellent... :)

I grew up on Carrollton Ave. in New Orleans and I have distant family in Bayou Lafourche (Cajun Country), and if you are really Cajun, you know there are almost no Cajuns in New Orleans. They're all way out in the parishes outside of Orleans Parish. There is ALMOST NO ONE in New Orleans whose music and singing are Cajun, it's not just Aaron Neville. Unless a zydeco band drove into New Orleans from somewhere else in Louisiana, you wouldn't hear Cajun music in the city. It's funk and blues and R&B and jazz and rock and some bounce. People that aren't from Louisiana often get Cajun and Creole confused; they think they are the same people that do the same things, and that's not the way it is at all. The only thing they have in common, really, is that both groups used to speak French. I'd imagine that if you asked Aaron Neville what his ancestry is, he would proudly tell you he is Creole. I see you have it as part of your online name, so none of what I've written is news to you if you are indeed Cajun.

I will happily watch any and every Ronstadt reaction, just don’t ask me to pick a song. She’s a performer that the one she did yesterday was as good as the song she did today, if you get my meaning.
Different Drum, 1967, was my introduction to Linda, and every song and album regardless of genre/style was at least as good as the last one she did.
Although I will say her three albums with the Nelson Riddle orchastra is a good place to start.
As are the albums she did with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.
As would her Gilbert and Sullivan opera “pirates of penzance”.
Rock, country, folk, opera, RnB, torch singing/songs,
I definitely recommend the Ronstadt Biography “the sound of my voice”.
In it she talks about being in naw lins and being taken to an aaron neville show and telling the person she was with, “I have to do a song or two with him, do think he’ll work with me”. I paraphrased a bit.

You're so right about how effortlessly Linda sings. And she could sing anything. Rock, pop, country, jazz, Latin. When she said she was going to make an album of traditional Mexican songs she grew up singing as a child, the record label and industry people advised against it. She made it anyway and it went double platinum. There's a documentary of her life made in 2019 called The Sound Of My Voice you should check out.

For the times they spent recording together it is as if they were a couple. A couple of artists who were individually incredibly gifted, and in giving their best brought out the best in each other. This is an absolutely beautiful performance. Maybe not romance per se, but a romantic duet nonetheless.

It's pronounced "NEV'-uhl." Check out the song he released in 1967 that put him on our radar: "Tell it Like It Is." Linda and Aaron dated for a while, but Linda admits she just wasn't cut out for marriage.

This song is magic. They are dynamite together. They weren’t a couple that I ever knew of but they just sold this song & made you believe it. It’s a shame that both of them are unfamiliar to so many people today.

Linda has sung on over 120 other artists records. She can harmonize with so many voices. Listen to her TRIO album with Dolly Parton and Emmy Lou Harris.

Chod, please check out the duet The Lion in Winter Linda did with Hoyt Axton on his TV show when she was verrrry young. It’s so good and really highlights the effortlessness of her singing like you’re saying. She and Aaron Neville were never a couple, just very good, caring friends. She had many close friendships and was and is highly respected in the music industry.

They weren't ever romantically involved just great respecters of each others talent. This is from one of her best later albums "Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind". Linda sings an achingly beautiful version of "Adios" on it where she finds so many layers in the lyrics.
