The best way to bring that awesome Asian look to the Americas just like us Americans like... Didn't realize how much of a fan of East Asia everyone was here!
I tried switchgrass and failed miserably ...mischanthus will grow on concrete and fast, love it and planting tons on my property for screens....great video...
Did you have an issue with deer digging some of them in the first several nights? I planted 1000 two weeks ago and was surprised to see at least 50 dug up and tips nibbled on.
This is awesome. I planted a bunch too by hand its a ton of work. I am going to try tilling it around the time of planting and then i can just drop the rhizomes into the loose dirt and then just brush the dirt over the rhizome with my foot. Might save some time instead of using a shovel:) Best of luck. Interested to see how tall it gets this year
I found it disappointing and confusing when you pulled out the poison sprayer and you just killed all the grass and those non-grass, broad-leaved, herbaceous plants that most people call “weeds” and most deer consider food. Not to mention the fungi and microbes the miscanthus will need. Other than that, it is a good Deer hunting plan. Should work well.
I agree, it was sad to watch. There are great methods revolving around the concept of Permaculture that let you manage land and grow crops without any chemicals, in collaboration with nature, not going against it.
I understand what you’re trying to achieve. You want natural cover. I think that planting a non native is risky and could lead to issues like we’ve had with Bradford pears. Promoting native grasses can achieve that cover you want.
Nice job, would love to see a year two update!
Great video. Thank you for following through with the updates and progress. Most promise and don't deliver. Thanks again!

I just bought this for a cheap privacy fence. I hope it works out.
Great job. By the way, what is the yield in tons per acre per harvest
Hello,do You cut it down in the winter or spring or do you just leave it be?
You’ll want to burn it every 2-3 years .

@@dalibormrska1627 So how would you have done it to get the same end results?
Would spraying simazine work the same as atrizine?
Yes don Higgins says treat miscanthis just like corn. Either of those will work good 👍
Why glyphosate why!!!
just uneducated and not willing to admit that many things Grandpa did and taught about farming was wrong and in some ways harmful to man and earth.
Exactly... If anyone reading this is interested, please look up the concept of Permaculture.

Or even leaving a row of corn. 👍🏻
