Moose Rut Pit
Bull Moose makes a rut-pit. Similar to a whitetail buck scrape, the Bull Moose scrapes the ground, urinates in the area. The moose then rolls around in it to spread his scents and mark his territory.

Vc3 ThreadLock Tip

Tech Tip on Mounting Optics - Use a Threadlock compound: procure a threadlock compound like VC-3 as you will not want to get into the field and find your optic has been jarred loose by the trip to your hunt. I like VC-3 because it will secure the screws, but can be broken loose if you want to dis-mount the optic at a later time. Shop VC3 Threadlock here: amzn.to/3Vl5NmM

Season Opener - Velvet Bucks - Rut Report 2023
I see this video is 3 years old and I just found it. I switched my Ravin R10, from a factory 400 gr. arrow at 400 fps, to a 625 gr. arrow at 347 fps. This was shot thru a chronograph. The arrow is a R500 with 125 gr. weight tube inside the shaft and a 150 gr. tip weight. Excellent flight out to 50 yards and hits like a freight train. 😎
Seems to me putting one’s hand in front of barrel to push the bolt down is not the best method.
Any crossbow will do that at 20 yards
I thought Strata was a CABELAS / BASS PRO pattern. The rainwear looks thin and shiny sounds loud too. Did you buy this stuff or did SKRE provide on condition of a favourable review ( ie; did they review your video prior to posting?). I’m still on the fence with SKRE gear.
If you’re wearing light weight rain gear it should be raining, which will mask the sound.
I just picked mine up today. I was disapointed to learn it was made in *Chynah* Still shoots good.
Hi, great review. Is it possible to use shorter (20"), larger (.345") and heavier (41gn) arrows? The Hyperflite are 22", .273" and 9.8GPI (x 22" = 215.6gn? + example 100gn tips = TOTAL 315gn?). Do I have to use Barnett nocks or are Half Moons also ok? Thanks in advance.
How has it held up?
What distance were you shooting? Kinda important.
The battery compartment is terrible to work with, its crap. You didn't mention it at all. Individuals are selling tools to help hunters get by this terrible defect. Can you imagine a cottage industry has sprung up because Burris Customer Service is so poor. Get back to me if you would like to be in touch with the vendors selling the devices to get by the battery problem.
The Burris Scope is a real problem with getting the battery into the scope. They (Burris has apparently licked their battery drain problem) Now you are left with the problem of how to get the battery in and out of the scope.
I don't know why you keep saying it's all irrelevant when it's not sir because a lighter Arrow will give you a flatter trajectory and if you're off on your yardages you will probably still get the deer like that last shot you took you took an 8-inch drop so if you think that's 35 or thought it was 40 and it was 45 yards and you shot you would miss the deer completely and I don't care how good of a scope you have unless you got one of those range finding Scopes we're able exactly pinpoint the shot if you misjudged the yardages it could be a hit or a mess
I can't believe this guy is reviewing the bow The crossbow and everything that comes with it. And he says the crank is not useful. That is no way to review crossbow
Doesn’t look useful to me compared to cocking rope. I think the comment is right on point.
Well it is actually useful because if you took the Stirrup off of the front of that you could probably lighten the crossbow up by a good pound and a half so you might have a 5 and 1/2 lb 6 lb bow instead of a 7 and it would be easier to cock
Most of All the XPs shoot as Fast as their listed speeds Shame Others don’t even come close So you know, Best Bang for your hard earned $$$ Best~regards
Nobody loves music more than me, but damn I can't
@theoutdoorlab can u plz tell me if they have a thermal version of this or a nite vision for hog hunting..
How’s the pant sizing, run smaller/bigger? Trying to decide if I should size up one or get what I normally wear in jeans
Fits close to size.
How cold do you think the Hardscrabble gear would be good to?
Doing a spot and stock vs tree stand? I have had min to 5 degrees Celsius with proper base layer
I bought a used one how do i go about setting it up. When u get a new one u just turn on and it walks u threw any info would be a great help.
Why am I being recommended this heinous garbage?
Excellent review. I got mine about two months ago. I can’t wait for the snow to start flying so I can see how warm it is. I hunt in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where we get lots of snow. The quality of the Guardian lineup is top notch. It’s right up there with Sitka but at a way cheaper price.
Been shooting targets with 22 inch gold tip balistc arrows instead of the 19 inch Matthew's out of the sub one xr and love every aspect with field tips. But since I have 250 grain fixed blade broadheads I want to use after assembly my total weight is 617.294 grains with a F.O.C. of 17% is this truly OK for this gold tip balistic 22 inch arrow? Safety wise before I shoot a target bag with this broadhead set up I want to have a honest input on arrow with crossbow not about placement as I can dial that in later with the oracle x scope.
Hello... I have been seeing that package combo on many websites, including amazon, Sportsman Warehouse etc. My question is about the remote. On the sites I have seen this package when I go to the "Included in the box" it does not state there is a remote. Do you know if it should have one or is that an add-on item?
The scope comes with a remote which allows you to range and display a calculated aiming point by pressing the fire button on the remote. The remote is powered by a CR2032 battery.
That would have been a really nice crossbow if the trigger would have been any good on it nobody wants a 4 1/2 lb trigger pull why could they not have done a better job with the trigger
Our hunt with Into the Wild Outfitters was first class, accommodations, food, and results!
I just got one for my compound bow with a extra bracket so I can leave my high end normal sight so I can have something if the battery gos dead
Hey hows the sight going? Im thinking of getting one for my compound but need to hear some feedback
Are they ever going to release the "trace" ballistic calculator for the hardline and brushline scopes?
I Love the tenpoint stag cases, I have 2 of them. They are great from the truck to boat. Very snug fit for the bow and plenty of protection
Lots of nice like new bows go up for sale for this reason, only for some other guy to buy it be amazed because he has learned not to cant the bow. Especially these real fast Narrow bows.
Sadly, this all never launched.
Suede on the inside is what I’m looking for
Just came back to say: Hunter's locker- $40, Twin foam mattress topper -$12 (cut into 5 pieces to support crossbow, scope, and quiver w/bolts). Perfect set up for storage and vehicle transportation- $52. Thanks again!! 😃
Just more "run-of-the-mill" optics competing for the same market. Crimson Trace should have continued manufacturing the 5 Series optics, especially the 3-24x56 model.
Thanks so much for the video. Very helpful! Perfect timing. Just picked up a new Tenpoint Havoc rs440 and looking for storage/carry options. But $$$$$ for the SB hard case?!?! Seems a bit much. Hunter's locker fits the bill for me. Thanks for the hack!
You should have shown the grouping man. All that explaining and no visual. 😢
you disgust me.........
that bow is NOT shooting 440 FPS with a 600 grain arrow....you are a LIAR........THE RIXTER.....that would be 258 ft lbs energy and 1.17 lobs sec momentum....you are lying to every one
AND STOP DRINKIN ALL THE KOOLAID THAT THE RANCH FAIRY IS POURING.......REALLY??????
I just bought this for a cheap privacy fence. I hope it works out.
The best way to bring that awesome Asian look to the Americas just like us Americans like... Didn't realize how much of a fan of East Asia everyone was here!
That thing is gorgeous
Ravin now sold out to china
New to crossbows .Got this crossbow in Sept. last year. Sighted it in at 20-30 both were good 40 was way high and could not use , maybe for 50/60 ? ( didn't try will not shoot that far ). Shot so hard that I tore the flecting off both bolts and like to never got them out of the target ( compountbow target) . Still don't have a targfet that will stop the bolts before the flecting but all in all like and happy withit so far .
If you roll up and flatten out a piece of carpet into a square shape then bind it like a parcel with paracord it will stop the bolts before the fletching. You also get a cross in the center with the paracord. Works a treat.
Thanks @@bleedingfly
The only thing I don’t like about the case is the pick n pluck foam
It's unfortunate 😢 I think they discontinued it, can't find it in the barnnet website.
It's on Amazon - check the link in the video description.
Just an fyi you’re a X bow hunter !🥱
Nice video but that music was brutal, not needed. Took away from you talking.
I doubt you're getting 400 fps with a 600gr arrow. The downside is more time for animal to jump the string at 40-50 yards. Now you may limit yourself to 20 yards so that isn't an issue but if so you're also artificially limiting your ability to take game ethically with a modern cross bow. Additionally, a 400gr arrow at 440fps with blow right through a whitetail at anything inside 50 yards so the extra penetration doesn't warrant the potential opportunity for the animal to move more when it jumps the string at 40-50 yards. Heavier arrow may make sense hunting dangerous game but for whitetail its over kill and detrimental for string jump aspect .
This video is awesome! Short, to the point, and loaded with all pertinent information 👌🏽
Is this a lefthand bow or this is just then camera?
You can get either or.
