    That "someone just parked so lets hurry up" moment resonates so much with me. I'll park at a trailhead, calmly start grabbing a snack, picking a lens, etc. Then someone pulls up and I'm like "crap, forget it. go go go!" and I try to get some distance between us.

    Thank you for showcasing places in this beautiful state that are not the Tetons and not Yellowstone. Those places are cool and beautiful, but this state has so much more to offer and it is wonderful to see someone exploring, showcasing, and being out in the beauty that is this state

    Many of my favorite places! At Porcupine Falls, that dark hole to the right previously had water spurting from it like a secondary, smaller waterfall. It made for an amazing aesthetic. The hole was unnatural--it was bored by 19th century miners, who were convinced that the bottom of Porcupine Lake (above the falls), was covered in gold. They bored the hole to drain the lake, but it was not big enough to do the job.

    1) As is often the case, native words translated to mean "crazy", as in Crazy Horse and Crazy Woman, were completely misconstrued. The original meaning was the the person was possessed by a powerful spirit that gave them great strength.
    2) Crazy Woman was a legendary warrior. In one instance, she fought off a small group of warriors from another tribe who were sent to kill her. As they fled, she yelled "I thought they would send men, but they sent boys."
    3) When your drone would not take off at the waterfall, it may have been because of restrictions over a wide area due to firefighting operations. The restriction will be in place for another month.

    • @ednafronkelbarger8601
      @ednafronkelbarger8601 2 года назад +1

      It changes everything when you know who Crazy Woman was, what her name really meant, and that Crazy Woman Creek and Crazy Woman Canyon are honoring a famous warrior. And of course, people saying that their wife or girlfriend is Crazy Woman are actually honoring them as a great warrior.

    The Big Horn mtns are amazing and magnificent. I've been camping in those mountains since I was 15 yrs old (1974) I've seen it change for the worse,,because of the hordes of people. There have been far fewer visitors because of smoke this year. I've never seen the Medicine Wheel with noone there before,,and I've been there probably every day of the week. I took my 86 yrs old Dad,up there just a few days before you were there,,,you mentioned Aug 30th in you last vid,,we were there on the 24th and I counted 27 people. I've been there when Natives were having a ceremony and there were a couple hundred people. You can drive up there and pass by and head down the mtn on a dirt road that comes out near the south end of Yellowtail reservoir. My Tahoe handled it fine,,but your little rig,,I dont know...so the Yukon ,,, After the Tetons for sheer magnificence the Winds and Cascades,,second,,the Big Horns tied for 3rd with 6 or 8 other ranges.. actually I love them all,, to varying degrees

    I love waterfalls! Never too many:) And... Combined with Native history. The geological formations at that last waterfall are fantastic. Those are such healthy looking moose! Fabulous video. I think it is one of my favorites of yours. Thank you so much for bringing this to us!
